Olympian Nastia Liukin Stuns In Bikini On “The 5th Of July”

Who says you can’t celebrate the 5th of July? Well, Olympic gymnast and NBC correspondent, Nastia Liukin, wants to change that. And she broke out an adorable bikini for the day. Nastia just posted a set of photos on her Instagram. In the first one, she is seen in a black and white bikini, her amazing figure on display. She captioned the post, “The 5th of July.” How does Nastia Liukin keep herself in shape, now that she’s no longer doing gymnastics? Here are 5 of her secrets.
She Drinks Hot Water With Lemon First Thing In The Morning
In this post on her blog, Nastia shared her morning routine. The first thing she does is drink hot water with lemon. “I’m not waking up so early these days. I’ve been giving myself some grace, and sleeping in when my body needs it, but typically, my internal clock will go on at around 7:00 AM. I make a big mug of hot water with lemon, and take it outside to drink. A few minutes of direct sunlight in the morning helps set your circadian rhythm, which impacts how deeply you sleep.”
She Does Pilates
To keep herself in shape, Nastia does workouts that she loves. She tells The Cut that one of her favorites is Pilates. “It’s important to find something you’re passionate about so you don’t feel like you’re being forced to go work out. I love going to Pilates and I feel great after it, and yeah, it might be hard to wake up some mornings but at the end … you know that feeling, and it’s worth it.”
She Walks
Nastia loves going on walks. She tells The Healthy that this helps both her body and her mind. “I do a sunset walk when I’m in California with my dog. Even if I’m in the middle of something, I always pause what I’m doing to catch the sunset and do that because it just helps me get more grounded, whether it was a stressful day, whether it was a great day, or whatever it was.”
She Doesn’t Deprive Herself
Nastia makes sure to eat healthy, but she doesn’t like to completely deprive herself. “I also remember my mom telling me, ‘If you want a cookie, have a cookie,'” she says to The Cut. “Because then you’re going to get to a point where just like you want ten cookies and you’re going to eat ten. So allow yourself to have that. Yeah, maybe don’t have a cookie every single day, but if you want one, then have one. It’s all about having that balance and not getting too crazy about it because that’s definitely not good for anybody.”
She Eats A Healthy Breakfast
Nastia starts her day with a healthy breakfast. She shared some of her favorite options in her blog post about her morning routine. “I’ve been into overnight oats, eggs with avocado and everything but the bagel seasoning, or a smoothie. This is when I’ve been having my coffee lately, too. It’s made such a difference to push it to a bit later in the morning.”
