Sunisa Lee is showing off her bikini body in Thailand. In a new social media post the Olympian flaunts her toned body in a chic Blackbough bathing suit (the Roan knotted triangle top and matching bottoms) while vacationing in the Asian country. “i love it heree,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. “Somebody call the judges pls. This look’s a 10/10,” the swimwear brand commented. “Baby girl😍😍😍😍😍,” added another. How does Sunisa prep her body for swimsuit season? Here is everything you need to know about her diet and exercise routine.
Staying Fueled Up with Food
Sunisa told Women’s Health that keeping her body fueled with food is essential. “We are working out so much and then we’re competing every week,” she says. “[So] it’s important to keep my body fueled and strong and healthy because it’s easier to get injured now that I’m just competing every single weekend. “Sunisa has a few go-to comfort foods. “I always have a pizza after every meet,” she told Women’s Health. She also has a sweet tooth. “I love ice cream. That’s my go-to. Or like a milkshake,” she says. “I don’t really like chocolate, so I won’t eat a chocolate cake or anything like that.” Her favorite flavor is strawberry. “I like to think that it’s healthier because it’s strawberry, right?”
What She Eats in a Day
Here is what Sunisa eats in a day. She starts her morning with eggs and sausage or eggs and bacon for breakfast. However, it “usually ranges because I can’t eat the same thing every single day,” she says. Sometimes she will have a strawberry banana smoothie with vanilla protein powder. Lunch is usually a salad or protein and quinoa bowls. “I pretty much eat anything,” she adds. “I’m not a really picky eater.” She also snacks throughout the day. “When I’m in practice, we have like a really big snack bar,” she says. She also likes pita, hummus, cheese sticks, banana chips, and almonds. Protein wafers and cheese with salami and crackers are another snack she enjoys. As for dinner, she will have a steak with a side of greens.
Avoiding Carbs, Fried Foods, and Sweets
Sunisa has never followed a specific diet, but tries to avoid carbs, fried foods, and sweets. She also makes sure to consume lots of protein to aid muscle recovery.
Starbucks
Sunisa loves coffee. “I get Starbucks in the morning and I always have to get my two drinks,” Lee told POPSUGAR. One is usually either coffee or matcha, “Usually, I get a venti iced matcha latte with coconut milk and two pumps of vanilla,” she says. “It’s so good, I get it every single time.” The other? “I always have to get my strawberry lemonade refresher.”
Journaling
Journaling is one of Sunisa’s self-care rituals. “I’ll journal my goals and just write down how I’m feeling before the meet because I do get a lot of anxiety and stuff,” she told POPSUGAR. “So it helps me a lot to just like kind of let it out there.”
