In an interview with The Gentlewoman, Julia revealed that taking a barre class is her preferred form of exercise. "I hate the feeling of working out, the hyperventilating, the sweating," she said.

Decompressing with Television

Everyone has their own method of self-care. Julia told The Gentlewoman that she tries to "decompress" by watching television. Her favorite shows are The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Bodyguard.

Me Time

Garner explained to Vanity Fair that the pandemic helped her learn to take time for herself. "I've been working pretty full on since I was 16, so having this downtime is something I'm not used to," she says. "It's been a good reminder to slow down and enjoy the quiet things around me. I'm very lucky to have everything I need."

Journaling

Julia told The Gentleman that she keeps a diary for the characters she plays. "I write in a journal almost the same way that anybody would write in a journal, except I write as the character," she says. "I'll be, like, 'Dear Diary, today I was really upset at Marty because he didn't give me 10 grand.' Or whatever."

Lemon Water

"I'd say the most important things in my kitchen are a lemon squeezer and really good knives. I drink lemon water first thing in the morning and I put lemon in everything, so I'm using this every day. It's amazing because I don't have to catch all the seeds with my hand — I just slice a lemon, put it in, then squeeze, and it will release all the juice but catch the seeds. I never have to get my hands sticky," she told New York Magazine.

Cooking

Garner also told Vanity Fair that she spends a lot of time in the kitchen, "I LOVE TO COOK and have been cooking a lot! I've found something I love other than acting!" She added: "I make a really good lasagna that my grandmother taught me how to make, but it's not the healthiest, so that's for a special occasion. I cooked mussels and shakshuka recently. My mother is Israeli, so I really love Middle Eastern foods and have been cooking a lot of that lately. I also made key lime pie! I don't really like to bake as much. I've loved Ina Garten since I was a little girl, so I get a lot of my recipes from her."
