Paige Beuckers is a rising star in women’s basketball right now. She plays for the successful Women’s UCONN basketball team, and has been a talked about player in this year's NCAA Tournament. She recently shared a set of photos on Instagram of herself practicing on the court, captioning them, “World tour work.” How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Paige Beuckers stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.

1. She Plays Basketball

Basketball is the main way Beuckers stays in shape. Fitness Advisory states that the sport can improve motor skills. “The objective of a basketball game is to score as many points as you can by getting the ball through the hoop of the opposing team. So far that sounds pretty simple. But along the way you’re burning calories and building skills – hand-eye coordination is just one. Catching rebounding missed shots is another skill that requires a great degree of full-body coordination, since you have to observe the ball and jump to grab it at the right moment. Dribbling, another basic basketball skill, allows you to train your motor skills. Once you’ve mastered hand-eye coordination, you’ll no longer have to look at the ball while dribbling it.”

2. She Does Pilates

Beuckers revealed in an ESPN interview that she loves to do Pilates to keep herself in shape. Better Health states that Pilates has a lot of benefits. “Pilates can be an aerobic and non-aerobic form of exercise. It requires concentration and focus, because you move your body through precise ranges of motion. It requires concentration in finding a centre point to control your body through movement. Each exercise has a prescribed placement, rhythm and breathing pattern.”

3. She’s Confident

Beuckers revealed in her ESPN interview that she is a lot more confident now, and she also shared where it comes from. “I've worked so hard. I've changed who I am as a person, as a player, and I have extreme confidence," Bueckers said. "There'll be times in practice where I'm still a little second guessing, going into the paint, going into crowded areas. But overall, the confidence in my body and the way I feel right now is at an all-time high."

4. She Wants To Help Kids Get Food

A cause that is very important to Beuckers is getting kids access to food. She revealed in this Instagram post that she is helping middle schoolers with this. Beuckers captioned the post, “With one third of students struggling with food insecurity, I knew I had to do something to help. Now, Chegg and I are partnering up to put food on the table for students at Hopkins West Middle School. Stay tuned for more details!”

5. She’s Faithful

One of the most important things to Beuckers is her faith. She captioned this Instagram post with a Bible verse. “PURE JOY / / James 1:2-4. ‘Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.’’’
