1. Sensible Eating with a Plant-Based Focus

"For my diet, I really am not on anything strict to be honest. I just do what makes sense. If I’m craving a hamburger, I’ll have a hamburger. But then the next day I’ll make sure that I have a salad, a lot of water, and a good mix of vegetables. Same goes for something like pizza, if I want it I’ll have it, but then the next day I’ll make sure it is filled with healthy habits," Porsha told Glamour. She eats vegan-ish, which helped her drop 10 pounds. "My big news in my house is that I am a born-again vegan. Baby vegan, to be exact,” she shared in 2020. "Baby vegan is basically a vegan that is completely plant-based, so I'm about 99.9 percent vegan. Meaning if the Lord say, 'Today you can have that cheese on that salad,' then I am not going to pick it off because that would be against what the Lord wants for me."

"I also do intermittent fasting at times, which is where you only eat between a certain set of hours then fast the rest of the day,” Porsha told Glamour. “When I do it, I’ll typically limit my eating window to about six hours."

3. Boxing, Strength, and Weight Training

Porsha has trained with Darrell Patterson for six years. Sometimes they box together and others, strength or weight training. “I never skip abs. For some crazy reason I actually enjoy them. I can do a countless number, it’s like I have that natural strength. But since I had a baby, that’s been my main focus area,” she told Glamour.

4. Treadmill

"I had no choice but to put my treadmill in my bedroom," Porsha revealed to Glamour about how she prioritizes cardio. "So now I see it when I wake up, and I get right into doing about forty minutes on an incline at a 4.0 pace." She gets on the machine “at least four days a week and I get with a trainer once a week."

5. Self-Care

Porsha maintains that self-care helps her cope, she wrote in an essay for Women’s Health. “To prevent or deal with the stress of any negative thoughts, I try to practice lots of self-care. In fact, I make sure to pencil it in to my schedule. So whether it's space and time for me to do some yoga, meditate, steam my face, or just sit in my bathtub, I make sure I have the pockets of peace I need to help me maintain my mental health,” she wrote.

6. Here Is Her Latest Workout

In her latest workout video Portia starts on the elliptical machine, a form of cardio. Then she moves onto strength training, doing a variety of exercises including kettlebell swings, kettlebell squats, medicine ball slams, and then ends by stretching.

Williams spilled some of her wellness secrets in an interview with Glamour. One thing she talked about was her motivations for staying well, and where they come from. For Williams, one way she stays motivated is by doing things that she enjoys. “The best way [to get motivated] is to do what makes you feel comfortable and good about yourself. It sounds like a cliché, but it’s really true and something I believe in.”

2. She Stays Healthy For Herself

Williams tells Glamour that she stays healthy for herself primarily. She says that this is the most consistent way of doing so. “Don’t get into anything for anybody else. 1. She Works With A Trainer

Parris posts a lot of workout videos on Instagram. One thing she does is work with a personal trainer, whom she gives a lot of credit to. Parris revealed that she sometimes does virtual sessions with her trainer, especially during lockdown. She shared this video of herself doing a session, including cardio and strength training exercises. Parris captioned it, “Early mornin’ virtual workout w/ Laquisha @bbkfitness!”

2. She Weight Trains

One type of exercise Parris likes to do is strength training. She shares this video on Instagram of herself doing a home workout. 3. She’s A Mindful Eater

Parris talked about her approach to eating to Coveteur. She admits that she isn’t always crazy about fitness, so she makes sure to eat healthy. “I love food, so I eat it. And fitness? No—I don’t stick to anybody’s fitness plan. Because of that, I try to be more mindful about how much and how often I’m eating, but I like to eat and that’s just what it is. I’m generally not eating junk food, though. I like to sit down to a meal. I’ll come here [to Blujeen] and have salmon, mac and cheese, and collard greens. To me that’s not junk food; junk food is like candy or chips. And I cook. I’m trying to be more mindful [about my diet] and incorporate more vegetables.”

4. She Wants To Inspire Others

Parris wants to be a role model for others. She has a partnership with the Uniquely You Summit, which is an organization to empower black young women. She opened up about her partnership with them to Coveteur. “They reached out to me to come and speak to their young women, and I just loved everything they were doing and everything that they represent. It’s empowering, and supportive and educational, and preparing our young black girls for their future. That just warmed every part of my being, and I said, ‘I want to be a part of this in a larger way than just stopping by to speak.’ So we became a partnership.”

5. She Takes Care Of Her Skin

Parris has amazing skin. She revealed some of her favorite tricks and products to Coveteur. “I absolutely cannot live without my Skinn Orchid Gel Primer. It’s the most amazing primer ever. Another tip the trainer gave was to drive your elbow towards your hip, then squeeze your lat at the bottom when doing single-arm cable pulldowns.

2. She Doesn’t Hide Her Psoriasis

Simmons once felt uncomfortable showing her psoriasis, an autoimmune condition that causes itchy, scaly patches of skin, but now she’s in a more confident place not to feel shame or embarrassment over the condition. “The more severe it got, the more I wanted to cover it,” she told Women’s Health. She worried that showing it would make people uncomfortable. But now, she chooses to be vulnerable. “I have so many women in my DMs who say, ‘I used to cover every inch of my body at the gym, and now I just don’t care. I am going to wear the shorts.’”

3. She’s Grateful

Faced with heavy and dark life issues, at one point, Simmons wanted to end her life by driving into a concrete wall. “But “at the very last second, I decided, ‘Not yet,’” she told Women’s Health. A few days later she started therapy and was diagnosed with depression and anxiety. She took a long break from social media, and followers began asking what had happened. She shared her story on the Fleurish podcast and then eventually her channels. Therapy and telling her story helped her grow confident, and now Simmions is in a great place. “From seeing nothing beautiful in any day, to now—I am so grateful that I made it through that,” she says. “It is a beautiful day to be alive.”

4. She Mixes Up Her Workouts

Earlier this year, Simmons tried Pilates for the first time. In the video, simply titled “Pilates Princess,” she did a variety of moves and was taken aback by how much she worked her muscles.
