Power Book IV: Force Star Lili Simmons Shares Swimsuit Photo Saying "Goodbye Summer"

She calls this workout “the fountain of youth."

Power Book IV: Force star Lili Simmons said goodbye to summer by posting a highlights photo dump on her social media. Simmons, who plays Claudia 'Claud' Flynn on the show, shared pictures from her fun-filled vacation months, including one of her posing in a black bikini at a beautiful beach. "Goodbye summer," she captioned the post. Here's what Simmons' diet, workouts, and wellness look like.

Daily Meditation

Simmons meditates every day. "Wellness to me is, of course, working out and eating healthy, but also being healthy in the mind and being loving," she says. "If you're not loving and you're negative, you're not going to feel healthy. Wellness of the mind is wellness for me. The first thing I do when I wake up is grab a glass of water and meditate for 20 minutes. I've been into chanting for years, and then I got into transcendental meditation. It's really amazing. It takes your stress away. It energizes you in the morning. If I can—which is really great on set if I'm working—I try to do it twice a day; once in the morning and once in the afternoon. It's good for your body, for your health, and your brain. I cannot sell it more. It will make your life better."

Daily Workouts

Simmons tries to work out at least once a day. "I have a trainer," she says. "I do weight-lifting mixed with a little bit of cardio. I love it! I couldn't imagine life without it. I think women are scared of looking too muscular and I think that's [wrong]. You still have a woman's body. Muscle is muscle, and it's good to be strong. I think it's the fountain of youth to be honest. On the road I try to find a gym that I can work out in, especially at the hotel. A lot of the times I have my trainer send me little workouts. If you want anything to bring with you on a plane or to travel with, buy an AbMat. You just throw it in your suitcase."

Green Tea Yes, Coffee No

Simmons enjoys antioxidant-packed green tea for an energy boost. "I used to drink coffee, which I still do once in a while, but it started making me feel a little shaky," she says. "I now like drinking green tea. A lot of the time, I like to do egg whites with spinach for breakfast—it's an easy go-to. When I'm in a hurry, I love going to Earth Bar and grabbing a smoothie."

No Foundation

Simmons tries to go makeup-free as much as possible in the Los Angeles heat. "Let's just say, foundation and heat do not go well together," she says. "It's a recipe for a breakout! I try and keep my face as makeup-free as possible, but, of course, for work I can't avoid it. I carry makeup wipes in my bag and for me, a good foundation is key! Chantecaille is my favorite."

SPF Every Day

Simmons is diligent about protecting her skin from the sun. "I have naturally oily skin, so I use a very light moisturizer for morning and night," she says. "Also, a light foundation with some SPF. I use Elta MD UV Clear for my face—a recommendation from my dermatologist—and then Neutrogena Ultra-Sheer Dry-Touch sunscreen all over my body!"
