Priyanka Chopra in Bikini Is “Grateful” Turning 43

Here is everything you need to know about her diet and fitness habits

Priyanka Chopra is celebrating her 43rd birthday in a bright yellow bikini. In a new social media post, the star cuddles with husband Nick Jonas as she rings in another year. “As I prepare to go into another year around the sun. On my birthday eve, all I can be is grateful. I feel so protected by the universe and so grateful for all the gifts that have been provided to me. My family is my greatest gift and all of my incredible well wishers around the world. Thank you. So with immense gratitude I go into 43 baby!” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. How does she approach health and wellness? Here is everything you need to know about her diet and fitness habits.

Priyanka focuses on eating enough protein. “I don’t really have a diet. I wing it by the seat of my pants,” she told ELLE. “It’s such a girl thing to do, like if I feel, ‘Ughh, I put on a few pounds’ and I feel gross about [myself] I suddenly start eating salad, protein, and soup. Otherwise, if I am feeling like I am in great shape I am okay with cheeseburgers and pizza. So, when someone asks me about my diet I feel terrible saying that I don’t really have one.” Why is protein a great addition for weight loss? Several clinical trials have found that consuming more protein than the recommended dietary allowance not only reduces body weight (BW), but also enhances body composition by decreasing fat mass while preserving fat-free mass (FFM) in both low-calorie and standard-calorie diets.

Hydration

Priyanka stresses the importance of hydration. She told the Times of India that drinking “juices and water are very high” in her health priorities. “In fact, water is a must for everyone, at least 10 glasses a day. I often overshoot that, but it does wonders to your skin,” she said. Water helps get rid of waste through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements, keeps your temperature normal, lubricates and cushions joints, and helps protect sensitive tissues, explains the Mayo Clinic.

Jump Rope

Priyanka enjoys jump roping. “I love skipping. I learnt it really really well in school and then I learnt it even better during Mary Kom, so I try to get my cardio in my skipping. It’s easy to carry, you have your skipping rope in your bag, it’s easy to do,” Priyanka revealed in an interview. “Not only can the repetitive movement of skipping rope elevate your heart rate, work muscles in the arms and legs and burn calories, it may even provide a quick jolt of joy,” says Nike.

Priyanka prefers to sweat in the morning. “I start my day with some exercise,” she told People. “Honestly, I work out only when I need to. My body responds very quickly to exercise, so I don’t need too long to tone up and get into shape,” she added to Vogue India. “I want to hit the gym but I work 15-hour days and I’m exhausted by the end of it.”

Self-care is a priority for Priyanka. “If you have the ability to look out for your well-being, you also have the ability to look out for your family and friend’s well-being,” she says. “If you are inherently happy inside and you’re investing in yourself and taking care of your own self, that’s truly what wellness means.”
