Priyanka Chopra in Two-Piece Workout Gear Has "Finally Going Back to Work Energy"

Here is everything you need to know about her approach to diet and exercise.

Priyanka Chopra is getting her body ready for her next role – in exercise clothes. In a new mirror selfie the actress flaunts her incredibly fit figure in a Joah Brown sports bra and exercise shorts. "It's giving..Finally going back to work energy," she captioned the Instagram Story. How does the stunning star and mother-of-one maintain her amazing body? Here is everything you need to know about her approach to diet and exercise.

1

She Doesn't Diet

Priyanka doesn't like to restrict herself when it comes to food. "I don't really have a diet. I wing it by the seat of my pants," she dished to ELLE. "It's such a girl thing to do, like if I feel, 'Ughh, I put on a few pounds' and I feel gross about [myself] I suddenly start eating salad, protein, and soup. Otherwise, if I am feeling like I am in great shape I am okay with cheeseburgers and pizza. So, when someone asks me about my diet I feel terrible saying that I don't really have one."  She does pay attention to when she eats, however. "I was very used to eating dinner right before I went to bed, but I changed that completely. I try not to eat after 8 o'clock. I start my day with some exercise, and I make sure I'm drinking lots of water," she told People

She Hydrates with Water and Juice

For Priyanka, "juices and water are very high" on her intake list. "In fact, water is a must for everyone, at least 10 glasses a day. I often overshoot that, but it does wonders to your skin," she told Times of India. "Post gym hydration with groans and moans," she captioned a post of herself getting replenished. Why should you hydrate? Water helps get rid of waste through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements, keeps your temperature normal, lubricates and cushions joints, and helps protect sensitive tissues, explains the Mayo Clinic.

She Loves Skipping

Priyanka's secret exercise weapon? A jump rope, which she keeps in her purse. "I love skipping. I learnt it really really well in school and then I learnt it even better during Mary Kom, so I try to get my cardio in my skipping. It's easy to carry, you have your skipping rope in your bag, it's easy to do," she revealed in an interview

She Moves Throughout the Day

Priyanka tries to slip in movement throughout the day, without formally "exercising." This could be a hike, which she refers to as mother nature's medicine, or parking the car further than she actually needs to. "I try to be active in everyday life—I take the stairs instead of the elevators or walk instead of driving," she said.

She Defines Wellness as "Self-Care"

Priyanka maintains that self-care is selfless. "If you have the ability to look out for your well-being, you also have the ability to look out for your family and friend's well-being," she said. "If you are inherently happy inside and you're investing in yourself and taking care of your own self, that's truly what wellness means. "

She Exercises on an On-Need Basis

Priyanka doesn't over-exercise. "Honestly, I work out only when I need to. My body responds very quickly to exercise, so I don't need too long to tone up and get into shape," she explained to Vogue India. "I want to hit the gym but I work 15-hour days and I'm exhausted by the end of it."
