Heidi Klum’s got a lot going on right now. She recently celebrated her 52nd birthday. She’s set to return as the host of Project Runway as it moves to Freeform. And she’s doing an ad campaign with the brand Calzedonia, and shared some highlights on Instagram. In them, Heidi posed in several bikinis, her impressive figure on display in all of them. She seemingly hasn’t aged since her time as a Victoria’s Secret Angel. Read on to see 5 of Heidi Klum’s diet and exercise secrets, and see the photos that prove they work.
She Has Cheat Days
Heidi shared some of her favorite foods and diet secrets in an interview with Women’s Health. She says that while she eats a healthy diet, she does believe in having a cheat day once in a while. “[I was] out to dinner this weekend, and truffles are in season. I had to have the truffle pizza and the truffle pasta. It’s not like I don’t [indulge], but not all the time.”
She Runs
Heidi shared some of her favorite workouts in an interview with Glamour. “My favorite workout is a long run along the Westside Highway, which stretches along the Hudson River in New York City…it’s a beautiful path, and you always feel surrounded by such an amazing community. You see the same people running every morning, and they inspire me to keep going. That and knowing there is a Starbucks coffee at the end of the route!”
She’s Consistent With Exercise
Heidi has a busy schedule, but she makes sure to stay consistent with her workout routine. “I like to try and incorporate exercise into my daily life whenever I can,” she told Glamour. “Which requires some creativity. Sometimes I jump on the trampoline with my kids or take a hike with my dogs in the canyon by my house. Sometimes I run for 30 minutes on my treadmill, but I prefer to be outdoors. When I’m traveling, it could be doing a few sit-ups in my hotel room before I head to work.”
She Works Out With Friends
Heidi loves working out with friends, and tells Glamour that this is one of her biggest exercise tips. “They keep you motivated and get you out of bed. I think it’s also important to set goals. For example, when I started to run, I would run a mile and then walk a mile and kept building up as time went on. If you are running on the street, go one mailbox or one house further each day. It also helps to build up your endurance!”
She Makes Smoothies Each Morning
Heidi loves making smoothies for herself and her kids each morning for breakfast. “I like to stick to fresh fruits and vegetables and lean proteins,” she says to Glamour. “In 2013, I made a New Year’s resolution to drink a fruit and veggie smoothie every morning. It’s one of those that went from a resolution to a life habit. My kids and I do it together, and we love it.”
