Bollywood star Rakul Preet Singh is known for her intense dedication to fitness, and shares her progress with fans and followers on social media. Singh, 33, posted a video of herself wearing black leggings and a gray tank top for a workout at the gym, using a leg press machine like a pro. “The struggle is always extra real 🤪🤪 #fitnessaddict #wayoflife #100kgs,” she captioned the impressive video. Singh recently adopted a fully vegan lifestyle—here’s how she stays healthy and happy.
1. Vegan Lifestyle
Singh started off experimenting with veganism and turned it into a complete lifestyle. “Turning vegan was something that was really not on my mind. But it was a sudden calling that I got and I stopped feeling the desire to eat non-vegetarian food,” she told Healthshots. “The more I got into meditation, the more I started to feel a difference on days that my diet was vegetarian. Although I would not eat meat at every meal, I felt nicer when I consumed vegan and vegetarian food. After trying this for a month, I decided maybe I want to continue this. I saw a difference in my skin and I felt much lighter.”
2. Favorite Vegan Foods

Singh eats vegan versions of her favorite Indian dishes. “I eat the basic Indian regular food, rotis are either rice atta or jowar ones,” she told Healthshots. “I have reduced grains for now, so I don’t do jowar as much. I can literally live on sweet potatoes. My diet has a lot of veggies, and one of my most favorite foods is Thai curry with rice. When people hear I eat rice, they get really surprised. Yes, I eat rice for both lunch and dinner. It’s good carbs, and there’s a difference between good and bad carbs. You can eat chole bhature, not that I eat, but it can also be a part of a vegan diet.”
3. She Loves Yoga
Singh is a devoted yogi—but she didn’t start off that way. “I was never a yoga person,” she told Grazia India. “I’ve always been into health, sports and fitness. Yoga came into my life two years back. Being an adrenaline junkie, I used to think that yoga is so boring. Initially, I believed yoga is for older people. But I was wrong. Yoga rejuvenates every cell of your body. It changed my life for the better. You just need the right teacher and way of doing it. Yoga starts my day in a positive way.”
4. Staying Grounded
Singh surrounds herself with people who keep her grounded. “It’s important to have people in your life who love you for the person you are,” she told Elle India. “Most of my friends are not from the industry, so I cut off from work for a bit when I meet them… When I’m with my girls, we do silly things.”
5. New Lifestyle
Singh advises anyone trying to overhaul their lifestyle to start slowly. “Any sort of lifestyle change happens only when you truly want it to happen when it’s something that you have decided for yourself,” she told Healthshots. “It’s somewhat of an experiment that you do on yourself, and if it works for you, you can continue doing it. Nobody can force you to leave meat. Nobody can force you to adapt to any lifestyle, and for that matter, work out or eat clean. It’s a calling and when you start seeing a difference in yourself is when you will want to do it.”
