Rebecca Gayheart Dane in Bikini Is in a “Sunny State of Mind”

Rebecca Gayheart Dane is feeling the vibes this summer in her bikini. The OG Neutrogena girl and wife of actor Eric Dane, who recently announced he is battling ALS, shows off her age-defying body in a swimsuit as she radiates beauty. “Sunny state of mind 😎🌊 #summertime,” she captioned a series of Instagram snaps. How does the actress, 53, approach diet and fitness? Here are her go-to health habits.
Hydration
Hydration is key for Gayheart. “I drink a lot of water,” she told Self. According to the Mayo Clinic, hydration is essential for various reasons. Water helps eliminate waste through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements, keeps your temperature regular, lubricates and cushions joints, and helps protect sensitive tissues.
Sleep
She also understands the importance of sleep. “I try to get as much sleep as possible,” she told the publication. What are the health benefits of sleep? According to the Sleep Foundation, getting enough z’s is a mood booster, promotes heart health, regulates blood sugar, improves mental function, restores your immune system, helps relieve stress, and aids in weight loss.
Strength Training
Gayheart also keeps her muscles toned by doing strength training workouts. “I work out with a trainer three times a week,” she told Self. According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and build lean muscle mass, and increase calorie burn. Strength training may also help you:

Long Walks and Hikes
Living in Southern California, Gayheart takes advantage of being able to exercise outdoors year-round. “I try to take long walks and hikes,” she told Self. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day reduced the risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia, and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.
