"I'm really starting to like this sport."

Rebecca Mir is a very successful model. She first rose to prominence in 2011, when she competed on Germany's Next Top Model. A few weeks ago, Mir did a kickboxing training session, and shared a video on Instagram. She captioned the post, "#Kickboxing Training ๐ŸฅŠ I'm really starting to like this sport โ€“ so be careful if you meet me on the street (just kidding) ๐Ÿ˜„ I've never done a self-defense course before, but I find it highly recommended, also for self-confidence as a woman โ€“ what do you think?" How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Rebecca Mir stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.

She Paddleboards

Mir spends a lot of time by the water. One thing she likes to do is go paddleboarding. She shared this set of photos on Instagram of herself going paddleboarding. Mir captioned the post, "Stand Up Paddle Love๐Ÿ’™ The sun is shining and it's immediately off to the lake on the board๐Ÿฅฐ It's just so much fun. Who else loves it this much?"

She Walks

Mir does a lot of walking to stay in shape. Since she has a dog, she naturally does a lot of walking. Mir shared these photos on Instagram of herself and her dog on a walk. Harvard Health states that walking has a lot of benefits. "Walking can help protect you during cold and flu season. A study of over 1,000 men and women found that those who walked at least 20 minutes a day, at least 5 days a week, had 43% fewer sick days than those who exercised once a week or less. And if they did get sick, it was for a shorter duration, and their symptoms were milder."

She Dances

Mir competed on Let's Dance, and she married her dance partner. The couple performed on the show's Christmas show. Dancing has a lot of benefits. Harvard Health states, "The evidence for the health benefits of exercise is indisputable. Physiologic studies have demonstrated that regular activity builds muscle and bone, reduces fat, increases aerobic capacity, lowers blood pressure, and improves the ratio of 'good' to 'bad' cholesterol. Dance has been shown to have all the benefits of other forms of exercise."

She Swims

Mir likes to swim to stay in shape. In the first photo in this Instagram post, she is seen in the water. USA Swimming states that the sport has a lot of benefits. "Swimming can help you develop the endurance to do a long workout and also develop the speed for sprinting.ย  When you swim at low to moderate intensities, you are building up your aerobic capacity, or the ability to swim for long durations. When you train at moderate to high intensities, you are building up your anaerobic capacity, the ability to blast a 100m sprint in a meet."

She Boxes

As you can see from the Instagram video, Mir likes to box to stay in shape. She shares a lot of boxing videos on her account. According to Harvard Health, since boxing is an aerobic exercise, it has a lot of benefits. "Aerobic exercise gets your heart pumping and helps lower the risk of high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. It can strengthen bones and muscles, burn more calories, and lift mood. Aerobics can also boost your endurance, which helps you climb a flight of stairs or walk farther. Plus, aerobic exercise is associated with improvement in certain brain functions."
