Salma Hayek in Cute Blue Jumpsuit "Connects with Mother Nature"
Salma Hayek is connected with mother nature. In a new social media post the actress shows off her amazing body in a cute blue jumpsuit as she poses with produce. "Grateful for these moments of connection with Mother Nature 🌾🍒Every bite tells a story of sun, soil, and water. 🍋 And yes, that lemon is as big as my head – nature's own sense of humor!" she captioned the Instagram post. How does the star appreciate all the gifts of mother nature, and what health benefits do each of her favorite fruits offer? Celebwell has the answer.
Strawberries
One of the fruits Salma poses with? Strawberries. One clinical review of studies notes that there are several benefits of strawberry consumption, including prevention of inflammation disorders and oxidative stress, reduction of obesity related disorders and heart disease risk, and protection against various types of cancer.
Apples
Salma also poses with apples. According to the US Department of Agriculture health benefits commonly associated with apples include moderating blood sugar levels and blood pressure, boosting vitamin C, reducing cholesterol, supporting brain function, and promoting good health.
Cherry Tomatoes
Salma also appreciates cherry tomatoes. The US Department of Agriculture cites animal studies showing that tomatoes may help reduce the prevalence of chronic illnesses like prostate and liver cancer. "It has been thought that compounds naturally produced by tomatoes are responsible for these effects. After absorption from a meal, many of the chemical compounds found in tomato fruits travel to the liver, where they are metabolized. Some compounds remain for some time, while others are quickly removed from the body," they explain.
Lemon
Salma is one of the many stars who loves lemon juice. How does the citrus help your health? One study found that eating lemons, containing lemon polyphenols (LPP), throughout your life, may have anti-aging benefits. And, drinking a glass of lemon water in the morning may help with digestion, prevent oxidation, and may aid in weight loss, per the Cleveland Clinic.
She Eats Fruits and Veggies for Breakfast
Salma has revealed that her meals are filled with fruits and veggies. One of her specialties? A unique "breakfast special"—basically a chopped up salad of papaya, blueberries, mango, strawberries, pomegranate seeds, celery, red pepper, and cucumber, atop almond and coconut butter and yogurt. "It doesn't sound like it tastes great but it's delicious," she exclaimed on Instagram.
She Also Makes Beauty Treatments From Fruits and Veggies
Salma also uses produce to make beauty treatments, telling Buzzfeed that she relies on a few key ingredients to keep her hair glassy, but "they're very stinky." "Anything that's greasy is actually really good for your hair," she explained, recommending avocado, coconut oil and even egg yolks and even one popular condiment. "Mayo is really good for your hair!" she said. Another go-to? "Apple cider vinegar is good for you in many ways," she said.
