"You can kick a– at any age," she said during an appearance on Red Table Talk. "You can hold your own at any age, you can dream at any age, you can be romantic at any age. We have the right to be loved for who we are at the place that we are. We're not just here to make babies, we're not just here to baby the man. We're not just here to service everything and everyone around us and then when the kids go away … it's almost like expiration date for the eggs means an expiration date for you as a woman. It's a misunderstanding that has been going around for centuries."

Salma confessed to People she doesn't have the "discipline" to wake up and break a sweat. "'I don't have time to exercise, I am working," she said. Her exercise of choice? Restorative yoga. "I work with a woman in London who taught me how to hold my body in a way where the muscles are activated all day long," she explained. "So even when you brush your teeth, you're working the muscles," she continued. "She taught me to tone my muscles without clenching them. You relax them and focus on the parts that need to be used, but never with tension. If you're aware of your body, you'd be surprised by the effect it can have."

Salma attributes her agelessness to meditation, she told InStyle. "It makes you experience your body with a lightness that's really delicious and satisfying. With the breathing and the going inside, you explore your body in a different way, and you learn not to go crazy with the expectations," she says.

She Avoids Restrictive Diets

"I don't like to diet and I'm not good at it," she wrote on her website. Instead, she fuels up on fruit, veggies, and leans meats and fish. She also loves juice. "When I feel stressed, I turn to food for comfort," she continued. "After doing a juice cleanse, I'm motivated to eat healthier and not emotionally. Cleansing is like my meditation. It makes me stop, focus and think about what I'm putting into my body. I'm making a commitment to my health and hitting the reset button."
