Alycia Debnam-Carey is heating up social media with her beach body. In a new Instagram post the former Fear of the Walking Dead star flaunts her amazing body in a swimsuit during a day at the beach. “Summer’s coming 💧🧴,” she captioned the swimsuit snap. How does the star approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here are 5 secrets of Alycia Debnam-Carey's beach body.

1. Stretching

Happy,Young,Woman,Stretching,Before,Running,OutdoorsShutterstock

Alycia starts her day off with a stretch. “Because my life is quite different day-to-day, it is important for me to keep some consistent routines in the morning. I try and exercise or stretch most mornings if I can,” she told Grazia. “Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints,” says Harvard Health. “Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight. Then, when you call on the muscles for activity, they are weak and unable to extend all the way. That puts you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage.”

2. Pilates

Alycia keeps her body lean and toned with the help of Pilates. “I’ve been doing an online Pilates class, which always gets the endorphins going and sets me up for a good day,” she told Grazia. Why is pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic there are lots of benefits to the workout, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, relief from stress and back pain, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

3. Sleep

Alycia prioritizes sleep. “I’m a night owl so I usually go to sleep quite late, but I’m trying to change this habit. I do love a peppermint tea in the evening or melatonin to help me sleep. If I have the time, I love a bath too,” she told Grazia. “Every day is quite different for me, so my wake-up time varies depending on what I’m doing that day, especially if I’m working. However, I am not a morning person, so if I get the chance to sleep in, I will be sleeping in. I try to get out of bed before 9:00AM but I’d be lying if I didn’t say it’s more likely around 10:30AM.”

4. Skiing

In the winter Alycia hits the slopes. “Shoop shoop ⛷️,” she captioned a post of herself downhill skiing. Research has linked downhill skiing to a number of health benefits. In addition to promoting physical fitness, it may decrease risk of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Studies have also found that the more frequently a person skis, prevalence of known hypercholesterolemia, systemic hypertension, diabetes, the frequency of mental stress and the occurrence of memory deficits declines.

5. Therapy

Mental health is crucial to supporting your physical health, Alycia maintains. “What started my journey on a better understanding of self-care was talking to a therapist. Though therapy can be a wonderful safe space for addressing specific mental health issues, you don’t need to be going through a crisis to benefit from talking to a therapist. Just having a point of reference that is unbiased and is with your best interest at heart, that's been a really important part of my mental and emotional growth—having an access point can allow you to get in touch with your deeper needs,” she added to Rose Inc.

6. Self Care

Alycia prioritizes self-care. “Self-care is a really interesting one because you think, ‘I'm going to take a bubble bath. I'm going to put a face mask on and then watch a show’, but I think in this last year, having been in lockdown, it’s shown me that there are really no amounts of bubble bath and masks and sitting in front of the TV binge watching Netflix that's going to help me calm down and relax. We're all suddenly forced to keep doing versions of that, and for me, true self-care really had to come from a mental, emotional, wellbeing space, which is hard,” she told Rose Inc.

She says she needs seven or eight hours “to function.” “Create a room that's ideal for sleeping. Often, this means cool, dark and quiet. Exposure to light might make it more challenging to fall asleep. Avoid prolonged use of light-emitting screens just before bedtime. Consider using room-darkening shades, earplugs, a fan or other devices to create an environment that suits your needs,” says the Mayo Clinic. “Doing calming activities before bedtime, such as taking a bath or using relaxation techniques, might promote better sleep.”

When it comes to wellness, specifically her diet, King says to New Potato, that she tries to be healthy, but doesn’t drive herself crazy over it. “As far as diet and exercise go, I try to eat as healthfully as possible, but I don't make myself crazy. If I'm craving a piece of bread or a bowl of pasta, sometimes I just need to listen to my body and indulge."

4. Leah McSweeney

Leah McSweeney shared a swimsuit snap from a trip to Jamaica this week. She revealed to Yahoo Life that she decided to get sober at the beginning of the pandemic. "I realized that it was gonna just go so dark so quick," she says. "…It's very hard to drink in a light and fun way during a once-in-a-lifetime pandemic when you’re stuck at home, and people are dying everywhere. So yeah, I think that that kind of definitely put it in a full-speed stop."

5. Jessica Alba

Jessica Alba shared several beach and swimsuit photos on Instagram. When it comes to working out, Alba tells Marie Claire that she likes to use fitness apps and videos to stay in shape. “I downloaded a few apps and I'll watch YouTube videos of different fitness folks. Singer Nicole Scherzinger posted a photo on Instagram of herself enjoying a margarita in a pink bikini. I'm obsessed with it,” she told E! News. “I have the best time, because the music is really loud and you don't really feel like you're working out. You feel like you're dancing and learning this cool dance move.”

10. Gabby Allen

Gabby Allen posed in a black bikini in an outdoor jacuzzi on Instagram, where she didn’t let the cold environment stop her from showing skin. Allen has gorgeous skin and hair, and she tells Women Fitness that she believes her diet helps keep them that way. “I preach that at least 2 liters of water a day will help to nourish your skin and hair. And I minimise dairy products and refined sugar. I also try and have as many red skinned fruits and veg in my diet as I believe it helps with healthy skin tone!”

Jessica Alba is taking advantage of the summer heatwave sweeping Southern California by getting into a swimsuit and enjoying a fun-filled pool day. Alba, 42, shared rare pictures of herself soaking up the sun in a black bikini, lounging by the pool and snacking on shrimp salad in the beautiful fresh air. “Pool day vibes,” she captioned the post. “Looking good!” a fan commented. So how does she do it? Here are 10 ways Alba stays toned, healthy, beautiful, and strong.

1. Eggs and Protein Shakes

Jessica,Alba,At,The,2019,Baby2baby,Gala,Presented,By,PaulShutterstock

Alba starts her mornings with plenty of protein to fuel the day. “I love avocado toast and poached eggs. That’s my favorite breakfast. I like to make a protein shake,” she says. “And I make sure there’s plenty of fat in there with almond butter. Then I’ll use Zico coconut water. Depending on whether or not I want a chocolate one or plain one, sometimes I’ll put fruit in it. The kids love it! I like to get them shakes so I can get some protein in them. Chocolate, coconut, almond butter shakes with banana butter!”

2. Working Out With Friends

Los,Angeles,-,Nov,12:,Jessica,Alba,Arrives,For,Baby2babyShutterstock

Alba loves working out with friends and family. “I really like taking group classes, or I like to work out with friends,” she says. “I like high-intensity workouts; I like moving around a lot. I don’t like a lot of repetition. I like Spin classes, depending on the teacher and the playlist. I do like hot yoga classes, if it’s done at a good pace. I prefer it mixed in with light weights, so like a sculpting hot yoga class. I’ll always work out with a friend because it’s more fun.”

3. Holistic Health Benefits

Alba appreciates both the mental and physical benefits of regular exercise. “For me, the benefits of exercise are more mental than physical,” she says. “Working out takes away that little edge so that I feel happier and more productive, and my brain can get kick-started… As I’ve gotten older and after I became a mom, it became more of a priority to be healthy for the right reasons. It’s more important to have a balanced approach instead of trying to be perfect.”

4. Fat-Burning Diet

Los,Angeles,-,Aug,11:,Jessica,Alba,Arrives,For,TheShutterstock

Alba adapts a stricter diet when she’s trying to lose fat. “With exercise, I get a little more toned and I definitely feel stronger, but my diet is much more important if I’m trying to slim down,” she says. “In that case, I usually don’t eat gluten, dairy, fried foods or processed foods. I try to stick to a diet that’s low in sugar and carbs, and high in lean proteins and vegetables.”

5. Loving Her Body

Jessica,Alba,At,The,2018,Baby2baby,Gala,Held,At,TheShutterstock

Alba embraces everything her body provides for her, and has learned to appreciate her curves. “I love my shape because it does what I want it to,” she says. “If I want to go on a hike or a bike ride or go for a swim, I know my body will do everything I tell it to. I also appreciate that I can push myself through when I’m feeling tired. There’s always a little extra something to get me past the tired moments.”

6. Good Sleep

Alba swears by sleep for health and beauty. "Obviously having great beauty products and sleeping really helps,” she says. “But you do have to, I think, practice those holistic things that make you healthy, otherwise it doesn't really matter what kind of cream or makeup you have."

7. She’s a Sun-Worshipper

Alba loves spending time outdoors in the sunshine. “I know the sun is not good for the skin,” she says. “I know, but I just love it! I just love being out in nature. I love taking hikes. I love all the beaches… I will wear a hat and I will absolutely wear sunscreen, but I don’t stay out of the sun… Growing up in entertainment, there’s so much emphasis on appearance and trying to fit some mold that feels on trend… of what you should look like or not look like or what is beautiful. And I really feel like the more I worked on myself and I felt confident in my own skin, that’s when I felt the most beautiful.’

8. Simple Beauty Routine

Alba does what she calls a 10-minute face when she’s enjoying down-time at home with her family. “Around the house, I do a 10-minute face,” she says. “It just makes me feel better looking at my reflection. That’s kind of my jam — just something quick and easy. If I’m going to really try, I’ll do my hair. But usually I just let it air-dry. I’m using the new Honest Beauty tinted moisturizer that has protection from the blue light of screens and devices. Then a blush, mascara, and a lip balm.”

9. Confidence In Herself

Shutterstock

Alba loves that she now has control over her image. "After I had my kids and started Honest, I think I sort of fell into the groove of being comfortable with myself in a different way,” she says. “The entertainment industry is a very difficult place to have a strong sense of confidence. Before the internet, magazine editors and journalists had control over how people saw me. However someone wanted to sell me to their audience is how I was portrayed. It wasn't until social media that I felt empowered to take control of my own narrative and my own image. I get to be my own megaphone—everything feels connected. Before, I think I just felt really disconnected from my own image."

10. Alba’s Beauty Tips

Alba’s beauty and wellness tips are all about hydration and good food. “I think staying hydrated is really important,” she says. “So, just making sure you do stay hydrated for glowing skin and high energy. It’s important for overall health. And I think making sure that you make the right choices in terms of your environment. Always try to have as many fresh and natural things in your diet as possible and the least amount of processed things and things that have unnatural sugars.”

For Hewitt, fitness is all about variety. “I try to switch it up a bit,” she told OK! I’ve been doing pilates, I’ve been doing yoga, I’ve done just plain old walking. I wear 10 pound weights on my ankles while I’m working just so that as I’m moving during the day I’m constantly building muscle. It’s not great for your back but I’m doing it anyway. I do a booty workout thing that I just did for Shape, which was really fun. And I do Zumba. I have DVDs and I dance around like a crazy person in my house.”

Water Skiing

Sydney has been water skiing since she was a toddler. “The moment I could walk, my mom put me on what’s called a U-board to learn how to ski,” she told Women’s Health. “I remember that whenever we would go by the docks of my grandma’s or my cousin’s house, I’d wave. I felt so cool because I could take off one hand. That’s my earliest memory of skiing, but I’ve been doing it as long as I can remember. It’s my favorite.” How does it help her achieve her amazing body? “It’s a lot of upper body strength, it’s balance, it’s core, it’s legs—you get tired really fast,” she says. “I see such a change in my body after an entire summer of [skiing]. My arms are stronger, more sculpted. My abs are rock solid. But I never look at it as a workout because it is so much fun,” she said.

Morning Workouts

Sydney mixes up her exercise routine, but likes to get workouts over with early in the day. “I like to work out in the morning, so I’ll either go for a run or I’ll go to Solidcore,” says Sydney. The high-intensity, low-impact Pilates-inspired workout “makes me feel so strong, but also elongated,” Sydney said about her sweat sessions. “I feel so good afterwards.”

Self-Care

Sydney engages in self-care activities. “I love to paint, and I love to read,” she said. “Those are the activities that are just for me.” One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years than those who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

She Walks and Hikes

One of the ways she treats her anxiety is by spending time outdoors with her dog, Tank. She takes him on walks or hikes. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day reduced the risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia, and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

Mariana Morais is showing off her ab-fab figure – in a two-piece exercise set. In a new social media post, the fitness influencer flaunts her fantastic figure in a brown sports bra and leggings. “Self Progress & Development is not always linear. Sometimes we take steps back & that’s just a sign to course correct so we can leap forward. If 2024 wasn’t the year you expected, use it as an opportunity to learn, grow, & carry on. It’s you VS you - continue to try, focus on consistency > perfection & you will prevail 🤎 rooting for us all to strengthen our mind & bodies this year,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Strength Training

Mariana relies on old-school strength training to keep her body toned. “Training till failure instead of reps + taking my ab routine up a notch by incorporating weighted exercises,” she wrote about one of her workout tactics. “I can feel my muscles being challenged and am in tune with my movements.” According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Prioritizing Digestion and Getting Blood Work Done

Other healthy habits? “Prioritizing digestion,” she writes in the same post. “Making sure I get enough fiber & starting off every morning with a juice cleanse. This has helped me feel so much better everyday.” She also gets regular blood work done. “So important to check your levels and know what’s going on in your body routinely! Don’t skip the doc apts, always better to be preventative.”

Hiking

Mariana enjoys hiking. “Elevation therapy,” she captioned a post from one of her fitness adventures. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:

  • Building stronger muscles and bones
  • Improving your sense of balance
  • Improving your heart health
  • Decreasing the risk of some respiratory issues

Pilates

Mariana does reformer Pilates. “POV: Stepping into the prettiest torture chamber,” she wrote across a video of herself at the studio. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Emsculpt NEO

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.
