Selena Gomez is celebrating her 32nd birthday – and showing off her legs. In a new social media post the singer and actress glows as she rings in her special day. “Thank you so much for your birthday wishes!! I’m very grateful and always thankful 🥰 32,” she captioned the series Instagram photos. “i got the hottest chick in the game wearing my chain 😍,” commented her boyfriend, Benny Blanco. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.
1. Protein, Veggies, and Whole Grains
Selena sticks to a healthy diet, fueling her body with everything it needs to sustain hours on the stage. Her trainer and wellness expert stocks her dressing room with “veggies and protein and brown rice or whole grains," Amy Rosoff Davis told Byrdie. "I made a lot of rice bowls with veggies, protein, and avocado for Selena. It helped give her energy and stamina, which she needed to get through her shows. I also made healthy chicken salad with grapes and celery—it quenched her thirst and the protein filled her up.”
2. Hydration
Selena also drinks “lots of water,” Davis revealed. According to the Mayo Clinic, hydration is important for a variety of reasons. Water helps get rid of waste through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements, keeps your temperature normal, lubricates and cushions joints, and helps protect sensitive tissues.
3. Green Tea
Selena drinks green tea when she needs “a pick me up,” Davis told Byrdie. Numerous studies have shown that a variety of teas may boost your immune system, fight off inflammation, and even ward off cancer and heart disease.
4. Interval Training
@selenagomez Feeling great…but also 😅
Selena’s workouts are focused on "interval and circuit training—and building a strong core," Davis told Byrdie. "My whole thing is toning mixed with cardio and stretching," she added. In a recent TikTok Gomez grinds through a session, doing moves like overhead arm raises, weighted squats, weighted leg lifts, donkey kicks, stretches, and crunches with a medicine ball.
5. Pilates
Selena also does Pilates, Davis told Byrdie. Should you try Pilates? According to the Mayo Clinic there are lots of benefits to the workout, which “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility resulting in improved overall health. It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, relief from stress and back pain, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.
