Serena Williams In Bikini Says “We Starting Here”

The tennis star shared some photos of herself on a boat on Instagram.

After winning 23 Grand Slam titles in the tennis world, Serena Williams has an amazing figure. And a recent Instagram post of hers proves it. Serena recently enjoyed time on a boat with her girlfriends. For the day, she chose a powder blue bikini and wrap, which showed off her figure. Serena captioned the post, “Me and my girls… are out in the streets tonight. But we starting here.” Here are 5 of Serena Williams’ diet and exercise secrets.

1

She Tracks Her Glucose

In order to improve her diet, Serena uses the Lingo program to track her glucose. She revealed to Yahoo Life that she had to cut some foods out that were spiking her levels. “I generally don’t like syrup, and my body was naturally telling me that. Then watching on my Lingo how my glucose spiked from it, it was just like, no wonder I don’t like it. If I have some sort of aversion to something, maybe there’s a reason that I don’t know. But I feel like with my monitor, I can get that reason.”

She Walks

Serena likes to walk to keep herself in shape. Walking also helps improve her glucose levels. Serena tells Yahoo Life that she started walking a lot more after using the Lingo program. “One thing I found really interesting is that a 10-minute walk can really flatten or lower your glucose spike. It just sends you [a notification], like, ‘Go for a walk’ or ‘Stand up.'”

She Keeps Healthy Food In Her Fridge

Serena makes sure to eat a healthy diet. She also makes sure to keep healthy food in her kitchen. Serena shared some of her go-to foods in an interview with Bon Appetit. “My fridge is really just vegan: coconut water, Gatorade (my favorite!), cucumbers, mint, kale, vegetables, ginger, and wheat grass.”

She Mostly Eats A Vegan Diet

Serena mostly eats a vegan diet. “When I don’t eat healthy, I just feel terrible–to be honest, I feel like I almost have pain,” Serena explains to Vogue. “So now, I eat vegan about six days out of the week. And then if I want, like, some eggs or something, I do that on the seventh day. That said, I was at the fair the other day and they had donut burgers, which I’ve never had in my life. I actually don’t like the taste of beef, so I generally don’t eat it–like, ever. But I was like, ‘You know what, you live once. I’m just going to try this thing!'”

She Loves Cardio

Serena does a lot of cardio workouts to keep herself in shape. “I do the cardio exercises on Tonal,” she says in her Vogue interview. “Which is really helpful for me just to get my body back and used to calisthenics. I don’t necessarily want a trainer in my room or in the gym with me, so just having the Tonal trainers is a relief. It’s just something different from what I’ve been doing for the past 20-plus years, and it’s refreshing.
