Sharlene Mawdsley Shows Off Incredible Figure in "Training Camp Dump"

Track star Sharlene Mawdsley is a force to be reckoned with, winning medals and sharing her journey on Instagram.

Sharlene Mawdsley is a track and field athlete. She typically competes in 400 metres events. Mawdsley won a bronze in the World Athletics Relays, and a gold and silver in the European Championships. She recently shared some highlights on Instagram. In them, Mawdsley is seen running, hiking, enjoying a pool day, and at a coffee shop. She captioned the post, “Training camp dump no. 1.”

She Runs

Running is the main way Mawdsley stays fit. FloTrack reports that running has a lot of health benefits. “Running and jogging is an aerobic exercise, and you’re working out both your heart and lungs while doing so. This will also lead to a lower resting heart rate, lower bad cholesterol in your blood and lower blood pressure. You don’t need to run an obscene amount of miles every day to get these benefits, either. Those who just run a couple of minutes a day decrease their risk of cardiovascular death by 58 percent. If you have a hard time running, you can still give your heart a workout by jogging or walking.”

She Hikes

Sharlene Mawdsley shares a snap of a couple Zebras while hiking.

Sharlene Mawdsley/Instagram

Mawdsley is also seen hiking in her Instagram post. Harvard Health states that hiking has a lot of benefits. “‘Navigating a winding, wooded trail can help your body build endurance, strength, and coordination,’ says Dr. Edward Phillips, assistant professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation at Harvard Medical School. ‘Hiking over uneven terrain requires more energy than walking on a level surface, so it burns more calories. If you are hiking uphill, your body has to work even harder,’ he says. A rigorous hike may offer many of the same physical benefits as interval training, which alternates low- and high-intensity exercise to increase cardiovascular fitness. During a hike, your heart rate goes up as you move up an incline and drops when you head downhill.”

She's Focused

In an interview with Image, Mawdsley talked about the importance of being focused. “Take a moment to remember all of the work you’ve done to get to where you are,” she advised to others. “Be present and focus. Remember that life is short and that this moment won’t define the rest of your life. You are in control.”

She Works Hard

Sharlene Mawdsley is pictured spending time with friends.

Sharlene Mawdsley/Instagram

Mawdsley makes sure to work hard. She talked about this in her Image interview. “Planning is crucial, but the reality is there are a lot of sacrifices to be made in what I do. I always make time to prioritise my friends and family on rest days or during meals. But the other side is that I’ve missed out on family events because of the demands of training and competing.”

She Works With A Trainer

Mawdsley works with trainer, Tony Lester, to help her train. She talked about her decision to train with him in her Image interview. “I had given myself three years of putting everything I had into running even though I knew it wasn’t 100%. I still knew I had so much room to improve. So after the Olympics, when the motivation was low, I sought what would be the best decision for me. It was a really hard decision to make the move, because it affected quite a big part of my life, but I knew if I didn’t make the change I would always wonder ‘what if’. After a brief encounter with Tony in Paris, I knew it was the right move for me.”

Mackenzie, who gave birth to her daughter Moa in 2019, maintains that her body hasn’t been the same since. “My pregnancy kind of restarted my whole body,” she told the New York Post. “I had a really high fat percentage before I got pregnant. And then breastfeeding and Moa getting [bigger] inside of me, she took a lot of my body fat. I lost a lot of muscle during my pregnancy, but I was almost able to start from zero again. … But then, just staying focused and seeing how I didn’t want to get back to where I was before. I’m way more focused. I want to win my fights. I want to do good. I want to have good performances. And having someone depend on you, my daughter, it’s not just me. … I’m getting muscle, I’m working my strength training, and I’m keeping my body fat low. I’m in a way better place now, thankfully.”

2. She Surfs

Mackenzie is an avid surfer. She regularly shares photos and videos of herself surfing. She revealed to the New York Post that her ideal day would be to “Wake up. Go surf then after get a tan. Just relax on the beach tanning. I like to just lay in the sun,” she said. Then, she would eat sushi, go home, and take a nap. “And all this with my family; Moa and my husband together. Wake up. Go for a walk with the dogs. Go watch the sunset. Maybe go to a Brazilian barbecue at night with the family, have some steak.”

3. She Does Functional Training

“I dedicated myself 100 percent, but my training was different than before,” Mackenzie told Women’s Health about how she changed her approach to fitness after becoming a mom. “I did more functional training, focusing on movements with dumbbells and cables, to improve my speed and reaction time.”

Mackenzie has to adhere to a strict diet so she can fight. “I can tell you 10,000 excuses but I really believe what happened with my weight was way back months ago in my last fight. 5. She Jumps Rope

You don’t need expensive workout equipment to stay in shape! Here Mackenzie trained with only a jump rope. “One step closer everyday! One more battle coming! Always believe in yourself! 1. She Lives in Gratitude

Deonna makes sure to take time and appreciate everything good in her life. "This has quite possibly been the busiest month I've ever had… and one of the most rewarding. My smile is a true reflection of how I'm feeling. Grateful," she captioned a post.

2. She “Claps Back” at Body Shamers

"Twitter saw this CLAP-BACK first 👏👏👏 I could go on and on about body shaming and cyberbullying, but they don't deserve the attention. But, I'll always be LOUD about loving yourself and all that you are, no matter what anyone else has to say."

3. She Hikes

When she isn’t training, you can find Deonna out hiking in nature. “There’s a lot I could say about the Grand Canyon, but it all feels too deep. In all seriousness, this trip was absolutely breathtaking. Looking out and seeing all those colors was like a dream,” she captioned this post about one of her hiking trips.

4. She Trains Hard

To keep her body in fighting form, Deonna puts in long hours at the gym. She shared a clip from one of her workouts on Twitter, squatting with incredibly heavy weights, writing “my heaviest this particular day was 215lb x 4 reps.”

5. She Celebrates Her Strength

Deonna is strong and proud of it! “Stop using the gym as a photoshoot and workout...” she tweeted alongside a photo of herself showing off her guns. “oh..... OK,” she added. "Bones lose calcium and weaken with age, but strength training can help slow or sometimes even reverse this trend. Not only can strength training make you look and feel better, but it can also result in better performance of everyday activities, such as climbing stairs and carrying bundles. Stronger muscles also mean better mobility and balance, and thus a lower risk of falling and injuring yourself. In addition, more lean body mass aids in weight control because each pound of muscle burns more calories than its equivalent in fat," says Harvard Health.

Mandy Rose, the WWE wrestler and entrepreneur, has built a business around herself, and her fit figure is part of the business model. 1. She Grew Up Playing Sports

Mandy-SacsMandy Rose/Instagram

“I grew up playing sports and dancing, so I loved staying super active. I wanted to get in better shape and get more involved in weight training. So the timing couldn’t be better when a friend of mine recommended that I should do a fitness competition. I fell in love with fitness and the way I was able to transform my body as well as live a healthier lifestyle. From there, I started to grow my following and sign a few different endorsement deals,” she told Entrepreneur.

2. She Works Out Bigtime

“I usually work out five or six days per week, depending on my schedule, with each workout lasting about one and a half hours,” Rose told Muscle & Fitness. “Right now, I do a little more cardio because I tend to eat more with the crazy schedule—I can’t diet as much as I used to,” she explains. “Cardio is a good way for me to warm up and acts almost as therapy for me.”

3. She Loves Lower Body Workouts

“My favorite body part to train is my lower body,” Rose says. “I get a great feeling after a good squat day or leg session. That rush of serotonin is part of why I continue to work out and live a healthy lifestyle,” she told M&F.

4. She Went Skiing

“First time skiing was a blast!” she posted recently. “Research shows that preconditioning before ski season will help improve your endurance, muscular strength and reaction times, and decrease your risk of injury. Injury risk rises dramatically with increased muscle fatigue, as our ability to maintain technique and form is compromised. So now is the time to get out those tennis shoes and whip yourself into shape,” says the Cleveland Clinic.

5. This is Why She’s So Successful

“A lot of it came from my youth, growing up with three older brothers, working three different jobs at the same time, having goals and working hard to achieve them, and most importantly learning to be independent. When I worked at my father’s deli in Carmel, New York when I was young, my experience waiting on customers and interacting with people all day taught me so many social skills and helped me open up. I was able to chat with different people from different backgrounds, and it shed a new light for me in the sense of being more personable and sociable, which is super relatable in everyday life,” she told Entrepreneur.

Bianca Bustamante is revving up her engine in 2025 – in her workout gear. In a new social media post, the racecar driver reveals she is taking “the next major step” in her physical journey as a race driver “and I’ve set the target high!” she says in a new Instagram post, filled with video clips of herself lifting heavy weights at the gym. “Never been more motivated in my life, it’s not physically easy for a girl in this sport, but I’m super excited to take on this new challenge and the next big step on my racing journey,” she added. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here are her top lifestyle tips.

Lifting Weights

Bianca spends hours at the gym where she focuses on strength training along with endurance, cardio, reaction time, and reflexes. “You know, to be a driver, it’s a complete package. It takes strength. It takes mental fortitude. It takes reflexes, smart thinking, and survival skills,” she told MEGA Active. “Sometimes it's for the body, sometimes it's for the mind. Nothing more peaceful than early sessions,” she captioned an Instagram post of one of her sessions.

Double Down On Training

In her recent post, Bianca reveals that she working extra hard at the gym. “I’ve been working hard over the years to build a solid foundation, but in 2025, I’ll be working with @j_w_90 and I’m doubling down on my training. Increasing to two workouts a day not just on lifts but aerobic endurance, as well as a better focus on nutrition and rest, in order to raise the bar to compete in the higher formulas,” she said.

Fueling Your Body With Protein

Bianca makes sure to eat enough protein in order to build more muscle and stay as lean as possible to meet the weight requirement. “It’s been a really cool journey seeing my body develop and transform into this whole different person I never knew I could become,” she said. In her new post she added that she is meal prepping. “I’m soooo all in that im even learning how to cook & meal prep better than ever before,” she writes.

Taking Cold Plunges

As for recovery, cold plunging is part of Bianca’s training regime. Limited research supports the benefits of cold plunges, which may include easing sore muscles, bringing body temperature down, increasing focus, improving sleep, and decreasing inflammation, per the Cleveland Clinic. However, a 2021 study found that cold water immersion therapy promotes post-sport recovery.

Working On Self-Esteem

Positive self-talk is also important. “Of course, I put a lot of pressure on myself, but in the end, I always tell myself that as long as I give my best and I learn from it, any mistake I make is valid,” Bianca explained. “I always try to repeat that to myself that I am valid. I’m here for a reason and there’s nothing I would rather do than be here.”

It builds strength and promotes flexibility, helps you lose weight, and even promotes cardiovascular function. A 2016 study published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine determined that people who engaged in moderate-intensity dancing were 46 percent less likely to develop or die from heart disease than non-dancers. In comparison, moderate-intensity walkers were just 25 percent less likely to suffer heart health issues

Swimming

Brenda spends a lot of time in her swimsuit so it isn’t surprising she loves to swim. According to the CDC, swimming is a good way to get regular aerobic physical activity. Just two and a half hours per week of aerobic physical activity, such as swimming, bicycling, or running, can decrease the risk of chronic illnesses. In addition to the many physical benefits, multiple studies support the mental health benefits of swimming.

Hydration

Romani has her own charity, Help Miami Cats. She talked about how she started this in the caption of this Instagram post. “❤️ Guys!!!! I have always loved cats and had many growing up. When I moved to Miami Beach I met a great calico named Chacha and learnt that cats were brought to the city by Mayor Lummus … against rodents. Cats rely on volunteers for their food and water and there’s a huge amount of them. There’s a city program to Spay and neuter with the wonderful @sobecats ladies and the feeding is made official by a City Sanctioned badge, yet new cats keep getting dumped daily sadly and there’s a never ending amount of work, emergencies and so on. I was on a feeding rotation but during the pandemic I was left alone caring for so many as people left town or couldn’t afford feeding anymore …I decided to start my own non profit @helpmiamicats . We feed close to 200 and when Batman got paralyzed took him and other special needs cats under my care … @stevensachs69 with the cat room and the amazing people involved devote their lives to these special souls … My life has changed a lot too … way less spare time, way more sweat and tears and lost the person I had by my side who had sadly other priorities … yet gained so much love from these lovely creatures !!! If you can please get involved in any way … follow @helpmiamicats , share, volunteer, adopt … donate … Only together we can make their world a better place !!! And yes … just me feeding the kitties and talking to them … 🤷🏻♀️👀😆❤️🙌”
