Sjana Elise Earp in Two-Piece Workout Gear Shares "Energy and Intention"

Here’s what her fitness philosophy looks like.

Fitness influencer Sjana Elise Earp is sharing her fitness philosophy with her 1.3 million Instagram followers. Earp, 24, shared a video of herself wearing black leggings and a pink sports bra, doing a pose on a mat at home. "I recently was thinking about self 'discipline' and why the word feels so heavy and masculine to embody. And I realized, it's because it IS masculine. And implies forceful action. And I became curious as to what the feminine side of discipline would be, and I feel it's devotion. We can do things with grunt. With 'discipline'. And there is a time and a place for that, for sure. But as a woman, who habitually gravitates to functioning in her masculine energy often and who wants to be more in her receptive and magnetic feminine, I am choosing to instead do the same things but do them with the energy and intention of devotion ❤️," she captioned the post. Here's how Earp stays grounded, focused, and fit.

1

Intuitive Eating

Earp doesn't believe in restricting entire food groups. "I am a firm believer in intuitive eating—which means getting in touch with your body's natural intelligence, truly listening to the signals your body is giving you and then eating accordingly," she told Elle. "I've found it to be the best way to eat a healthy, balanced and varied diet whilst ensuring you get all the nutrients you need. It also means that my diet is different every day!"

Daily Meditation

Earp meditates every day. "After I wake, before I check my phone I like to meditate for 20 minutes (but this doesn't always happen in this order… I'm only human!), I make my bed every morning (a productivity trick I learned years ago), tongue scrape, wash my face with cold water and brush my teeth," she told Body+Soul. "I like to move in the mornings, it sets the tone for the rest of the day and helps me to feel alert and awake."

No Gluten

Earp avoids any gluten in her diet. "I am celiac (have been since birth!) so can't eat wheat without getting very ill, so I don't eat wheat/gluten for that reason!" she told Elle. "I eat a plant-based diet, this means I eat as many whole foods, fruit and vegetables and food from the earth as possible! But in terms of carbs, sugars, fats etc… I eat it all! I don't believe in depriving our bodies of anything. We need to nourish them, not punish them!"

Sauna Sessions

Earp loves a nice sauna session and massage. "While yoga is my go-to for most things healthy body, my brother built a home sauna for his Year 10 woodwork project 12 or so years ago, so I definitely enjoy a hot sauna and a cold dip in the pool right after (even during Winter). I recently tried acupuncture and loved it too. And I would NEVER say no to a massage!" she told Body+Soul.

Surfing and Yoga

Earp loves yoga, jogging, walking, and surfing. "Yoga is my biggest teacher and grounds me most in life," she told Elle. "I am always very active and energized, and I find yoga allows me to relax and reminds me to breathe. Of course I invite meditation, reading and love listening to inspiring or thought provoking podcasts whenever I can, and create a lot more time for this if I am finding more stress creeping into my life."
