Sommer Ray Shows Off Amazing Body and Says "Stretch With Me" in New Photos

Ray shares her favorite workouts, including stretching, lunges, squats, push-ups, and yoga poses.

Sommer Ray is a fitness model, influencer, and expert. She shares a lot of her favorite workouts on Instagram. Recently, Ray hit the gym to do some stretching. She shared a reel of some of her favorite stretches on Instagram, and promoted it on her story. Ray is seen doing poses like downward facing dog, and is wearing gray workout pants. She captioned the reel, “Stretch with me.”

She Does Lunges

Ray shared some of her favorite at-home workouts in this YouTube video. The first thing she is seen doing is jump lunges. According to ACE Fitness, lunges of all kinds have a lot of health benefits. “They’re a form of unilateral training, which means you’re working only one limb or side of the body at a time. And unilateral training is a more effective way to build functional strength (than using both legs) because these types of movement mimic other everyday motions, like walking and climbing stairs — and not just to the working leg. Research suggests the strength gains to the nonworking side are about half of the strength gains of the working side.”

She Does Squats

Sommer Ray is pictured doing squats.

Ray is also seen doing squats and squat jumps in her YouTube video. These have a lot of health benefits. The Cleveland Clinic states, “Proper squatting form requires you to reaaaaally engage your core — the muscles of your stomach, pelvis, hips and lower back. These large muscle groups support every move you make, both large and small, so keeping them strong helps keep you well.”

She Does Push-Ups

Another exercise Ray is seen doing in her YouTube video is push-ups. According to NASM, these are very effective. “Incredibly, this ONE exercise can help you torch calories, build and tone muscle, gain strength, and positively impact your overall fitness, function, and performance. Due to its versatility, mastering this exercise can be vital to unlocking your true fitness potential.”

She Does Jumping Jacks

Ray is also seen doing jumping jacks in her YouTube video. Gymless states that this exercise has a lot of health benefits. “Jumping jacks is an effective total-body workout that can be practiced nearly everywhere. It works on your heart, lungs, and muscles simultaneously. The primary muscles worked are the glutes, hip flexors, and quadriceps. The secondary muscles worked are the abs, calves, hamstrings, and shoulders (anterior deltoids and posterior deltoids).”

She Does Yoga

In her Instagram reel, Ray is seen doing yoga poses. According to Harvard Health, yoga has a lot of benefits. “Yoga is known for its ability to soothe tension and anxiety in the mind and body. But it can also have an impact on a person's exercise capacity. Researchers studied a small group of sedentary individuals who had not practiced yoga before. After eight weeks of practicing yoga at least twice a week for a total of 180 minutes, participants had greater muscle strength and endurance, flexibility, and cardio-respiratory fitness.”

Sommer Ray is heating up social media with her latest swimsuit snap. The model and fitness personality, who's huge on social media, flaunted her famous curves in the image, reminding fans that “it’s always summer in my little world.” How does the 25-year-old keep herself so fit? Read on to see 6 ways Sommer Ray stays in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

1. She Was a Bodybuilder

Sommer Ray has been lifting weights since she was 14 and even started competing in bodybuilding competitions at 16. She told Cosmopolitan, "it’s a whole different world where many girls are on steroids, and I didn’t want to do that to my body," about why she stopped.

2. She Refuses to Photoshop Her Body

"If there’s something not permanent on my face like a zit, I’ll smooth it," she told Cosmopolitan. "If I take a photo at a bad angle, I just won't post it. I don't Photoshop my body because it would feel like a false advertisement."

3. Her Workouts Are Intense

Smile Train All Smiles Are Beautiful Launch PartyVivien Killilea/Getty Images

Sommer is serious about fitness, working out five times a week for up to 90 minutes. She spends two days on her lower body. "If my glutes are sore, I tell myself, 'I probably shouldn't work them today,' " she says. "I just listen to my body." Other than that, she mixes up her workouts. "There’s not a certain exercise or specific workout that’s beneficial," she says. "I switch it up every day and try to make it fun, because as soon as it feels like a job, you don’t want to do it."

4. Her Diet Is Protein Rich

Delicious,Healthy,Breakfast,Or,Snack.,Banana,Smoothie,With,Oat,Flakes,Shutterstock

Ray told Cosmopolitan that she eats a whopping 70 grams of protein per day to keep her glutes built. She starts the day with a protein shake and eats five more small meals throughout the day. Because Ray tries to eat 70 grams of protein a day to maintain her glute muscle mass, she starts most mornings with a protein shake, the first of six small meals throughout the day. Grilled chicken, veggies and steamed white rice is one of her go-t0 meals, but she will also indulge in In-and-Out Burger (without the bun) or turkey from Jersey Mike’s. For carbs, she eats starchy veggies and whole grains.

5. She Cheats on the Weekend

Sommer isn’t all work and no play. Occasionally she will have a drink, like tequila, or eat to her cravings. "If I want a slice of pizza, I have a slice of pizza. I want to look good, but I also want to enjoy life," she explained. “If you feel less deprived by eating that piece of cake, or burger and fries, and don’t feel you have to order one of everything off the menu, it could lead to better long-term outcomes,” says Julia Zumpano, RD, LD of the Cleveland Clinic.

6. Confidence Is Key

"I don’t want to motivate women to look like me — I want them to love themselves the way I do," Ray told Cosmopolitan. "Society puts on pressure to look and be a certain way — you're your best when you are confident in yourself." "Rather than talking about physical attributes of your child or others, instead praise his or her personal characteristics such as strength, persistence and kindness. Avoid pointing out negative physical attributes in others or yourself. Don't make or allow hurtful nicknames, comments or jokes based on a person's physical characteristics, weight or body shape," says the Mayo Clinic.

Sommer Ray, the fitness model and influencer, shares a lot of photos on her Instagram; it's literally part of her job. But sometimes she blends business with pleasure. For example, just shared a ton of selfies from a day she spent at the beach—a bunch, in fact. Ray posed with her hair wet, while wearing a tiger-stripe bathing suit. She captioned the photo series, “Here's 9 variations of the same photo lol.” How does she stay so fit? 1. She Wants To Promote a Healthy Lifestyle

For Ray, being a fitness influencer and model isn’t just about posting workout videos and photos of her toned body. She also wants to promote a healthy lifestyle and methods. "I just want to promote a healthy, natural lifestyle,” she told Forbes. Ray says that she especially wants to inspire young girls. “I want girls to know that I’m for them,” she said.

2. She Takes Days To Recover

Smile Train All Smiles Are Beautiful Launch PartyVivien Killilea/Getty Images

While Ray’s workout schedule is intense, she does make sure to take days to recover. She says that she doesn’t want her body to get too sore or injured. "If my glutes are sore, I tell myself, 'I probably shouldn't work them today,' " she says to Cosmopolitan. "I just listen to my body."

3. She Switches Up Her Workouts

Even though Ray is a fitness influencer, she does get bored of working out sometimes. She says that the solution to this is switching up her workouts. "There’s not a certain exercise or specific workout that’s beneficial," she says to Cosmopolitan. "I switch it up every day and try to make it fun, because as soon as it feels like a job, you don’t want to do it.”

4. She Isolates Her Muscles

Ray broke down her favorite exercises and workout routines to Cosmopolitan. She says that she likes to do exercises that target and isolate her muscles. Ray says that this is how several exercises are supposed to be done, and that this can be a lot more effective. "If you do any exercise right, with the right form, you learn to isolate your muscles," she says.

5. She Doesn't Give In To Society’s Beauty Standards

Smile Train All Smiles Are Beautiful Launch PartyVivien Killilea/Getty Images

Ray tells Cosmopolitan that she doesn’t feel pressure to give in to the beauty standards society has for women. She says that she wants her followers to do the same, and not feel like they have to look like her, or someone else. "I don’t want to motivate women to look like me — I want them to love themselves the way I do," she says. "Society puts on pressure to look and be a certain way — you're your best when you are confident in yourself."

6. She Gives Into Her Cravings

Smile Train All Smiles Are Beautiful Launch PartyVivien Killilea/Getty Images

Ray tells Cosmopolitan that she tries to eat a healthy diet, but she doesn’t deprive herself too much. She says that she does indulge once in a while. "If I want a slice of pizza, I have a slice of pizza. I want to look good, but I also want to enjoy life.”

Mariana Morais is showing off her ab-fab figure – in a two-piece exercise set. In a new social media post, the fitness influencer flaunts her fantastic figure in a brown sports bra and leggings. “Self Progress & Development is not always linear. Sometimes we take steps back & that’s just a sign to course correct so we can leap forward. If 2024 wasn’t the year you expected, use it as an opportunity to learn, grow, & carry on. It’s you VS you - continue to try, focus on consistency > perfection & you will prevail 🤎 rooting for us all to strengthen our mind & bodies this year,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Strength Training

Mariana relies on old-school strength training to keep her body toned. “Training till failure instead of reps + taking my ab routine up a notch by incorporating weighted exercises,” she wrote about one of her workout tactics. “I can feel my muscles being challenged and am in tune with my movements.” According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Prioritizing Digestion and Getting Blood Work Done

Other healthy habits? “Prioritizing digestion,” she writes in the same post. “Making sure I get enough fiber & starting off every morning with a juice cleanse. This has helped me feel so much better everyday.” She also gets regular blood work done. “So important to check your levels and know what’s going on in your body routinely! Don’t skip the doc apts, always better to be preventative.”

Hiking

Mariana enjoys hiking. “Elevation therapy,” she captioned a post from one of her fitness adventures. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:

  • Building stronger muscles and bones
  • Improving your sense of balance
  • Improving your heart health
  • Decreasing the risk of some respiratory issues

Mariana does reformer Pilates. “POV: Stepping into the prettiest torture chamber,” she wrote across a video of herself at the studio. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Emsculpt NEO

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.

She’s Consistent

Last year, Culpo was preparing for her wedding. She told E! News that she made sure to be consistent with her wellness in order to prepare. “Really trying to dial in [on] what I eat, how I workout, the workouts that I do. Trying to get them in consistently because you only get married once and I want to feel my best. But this past season it was just hard being so far away from my normal routine and where I typically live."

She Keeps Her Skin Healthy While Traveling

Culpo has amazing skin, and she makes sure to take care of it, even while traveling. “I don't wear any makeup when traveling," she says to Travel + Leisure. "That's one rule because I do feel like you will have a higher chance of breaking out if you are wearing a full face of makeup. A few things I always have with me is some sort of a spray. I love Dr. Barbara Sturm or Caudalie or La Mer. I also absolutely love traveling with a makeup wipe, the Neutrogena wipes are great. Something to just take off the sweat you build up.”

She Keeps Her Skincare Simple

Culpo shared her skincare routines with Byrdie. She says that she keeps her morning and night routine simple. “I am always trying out new products, so what I gravitate toward is often changing. At night, I usually use an oil and a serum. Right now, I love the Clarins Double Serum. In the morning, I use a Vitamin C serum and an SPF, and, typically, I just rinse my skin with warm water instead of using a cleanser. It is something I swear by—it allows for the oils on my skin from sleeping to absorb naturally.”

She Uses Products With Vitamins

Culpo shared some of her favorite skincare products with Byrdie. She says that she uses ones that have vitamins in them. “I have noticed a huge difference in my skin with vitamin C and E. I love the Good Janes H2OMyGod Moisturizer—it's sort of an all-in-one moisturizer that has vitamin C and collagen peptides. As for vitamin E, I actually just purchase the oil from the drugstore. It is super cheap and great to put on any red marks I may get from an occasional breakout. The healing process is so much quicker when I am using Vitamin E oil.”

She Packs Healthy Snacks

Culpo makes sure to eat healthy. She shared some of the snacks she packs with her with Travel + Leisure. "I love the Kind bars. I love any sort of nuts, to be honest with you. They are a go-to snack for me. I would say Peroni Nastro Azzurro 0.0% and some almonds would be perfect! Also, electrolytes to stay hydrated or some sort of collagen beauty powder or something."

Abigail Ratchford’s amazing body has helped her become one of the most famous models on the internet. The 32-year-old, who boasts over 9.1 million followers on Instagram alone, attributes her measurement-defying body to a few simple habits. Here is everything she does to stay fit at 32.

She Follows 4 Diet Rules

Abigail swears that abiding by simple rules helps her stay in shape. “I can’t diet. That just doesn’t work for me,” she told New Beauty. “I started to be healthier by first cutting out soda. Then, I stopped eating after 7 p.m. Finally, I started really watching my portions so I was eating fewer calories every day. And water—lots and lots of water.”

She UsesMyFitnessPal

Abigail explains being accountable for what she eats is crucial. While it’s not “rocket science,” she does use the MyFitnessPal app to track her eating. “I’m the type of person who likes to eat what I want. The app can help anyone do that—you can still eat great food, you just eat less of it,” she added New Beauty.

Pilates

Abigail is a fan of Pilates. “Group workout classes are so big right now, but I always get nervous around other people in settings like that. I have to go at my own pace without a bunch of distractions so, for me, Pilates with a one-on-one instructor works best. It’s not cheap, but then you also aren’t tempted to skip,” she said She added to Men’s Fitness via Muscle & Fitness that the workout “keeps you long and lean” — and the Mayo Clinic agrees. They say it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, relief from stress and back pain, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Balanced Diet

“I love green juices and smoothies. Sometimes I’ll put some protein powder in the morning—I feel like the mix of vegetables, and vitamins and stuff that’s in them, really gives me a lot of energy in the morning. I love BBQ food—my ultimate cheat is a pulled pork sandwich, sweet potato fries, and macaroni and cheese from this great place in LA,” she told Men’s Fitness.

Strength Training

Ratchford also lifts weights. “Initially, I made the mistake that a lot of girls do and I was only doing cardio. I just really didn’t see too much change in my body. I’ve been listening to my girlfriends who are in great shape and they say you have to do weight training, you have to go in and do squats. That’s my new thing—I’ve been doing some resistance training, circuit training,” she told Men’s Fitness. The Mayo Clinic explains that strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

Develop strong bones

Manage your weight

Enhance your quality of life

Manage chronic conditions

Sharpen your thinking skills
