Strictly Come Dancing’s Karen Hauer In Bikini Has “Soul Time” In Ibiza

Strictly Come Dancing star, Karen Hauer, is enjoying some time off before the show starts up in September. She decided to take a girls trip to Ibiza with some of her friends. Karen shared some highlights on Instagram. In them, she is eating at a restaurant, taking a dip in the pool, and enjoying cocktails. Karen is seen wearing different colored bikinis in the post. She captioned it, “Soul time with my girls.” Here are 5 of Karen Hauer’s diet and exercise tips.
She Eats Enough Food Each Day
Karen talked about her diet in an interview with Women’s Fitness. She says that since she’s a professional dancer, she has to eat a lot to fuel her body. “I love talking about food and encouraging people to eat well and not diet. People always have this assumption that dancers eat nothing and live on lettuce, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. I have to eat more as I need to fuel my body and have the energy to keep going.”
She Eats A Balanced Diet
Karen believes in eating a balanced diet. “As a professional dancer, you have to respect your body and feed it well, not live on air,” she says to Women’s Fitness. “I eat a lot of chicken and vegetables, protein bars and carbs, and, if I want to eat a doughnut or two, I do. Plus, I swear by vitamins – I take turmeric and magnesium to help keep my bones strong.”
She Does Simple Workouts
Karen shared some of her favorite workouts in an interview with Yours. She says that she sticks to the basics when it comes to exercise. “I go old school when I exercise at home doing squats, push-ups, jumping jacks and sit-ups. It’s as basic as that! You can get a good workout doing 40 seconds work and 20 seconds rest for each exercise and doing four rounds of it.”
She Structures Her Workouts
Karen shared some of her tips to staying motivated to workout with Yours. “Motivation is very hard if you don’t have a structure,” she says. “If you have a structure and you’re consistent and you add motivation on top of that, then you’re winning. It’s about building small habits every day and staying consistent. There are so many things online and so many websites to go to. Obviously there’s This Girl Can and Sport England – there are so many things you can look up for exercises that you can do.”
She Pushes Herself
Karen makes sure to push herself to workout. “There are days when I wake up, and I’m not motivated,” she admits to Yours. “But I know that I’m disciplined and that’s been built throughout my years of being an athlete, and this helps on those days when I don’t want to get out of bed. You feel really good afterwards, and when you feel good about yourself then you think it’s better for me to get out of bed and do something than lay in bed and feel sorry for yourself.”
