Gina Torres is a successful actress. She is best known for her role on the hit drama series, Suits. Torres’ character from it would get a spinoff, entitled Pearson. She has also appeared in Firefly, its spinoff film Serenity, and currently stars on 9-1-1: Lone Star. Torres recently shared some swimsuit photos on Instagram. She captioned them, “If I post a #ThirstTrapThursday on a Friday, does it still count? Asking for a friend. 🥰 I hope you are finding your joy, big and small and everything in between. It all counts. ❤️❤️❤️”
She's All About Self-Care
Torres shared some of her favorite self-care routines in an interview with New Beauty. “Baths help,” she said. “Lavender, eucalyptus…there’s nothing better than a good Epsom salt bath at the end of the day to help with a little lactic acid buildup. Keeping it quiet or just listening to music helps. I love to cook; I love to hang out with my family. Just getting back to normal, getting to any kind of normalcy, and a human pace is what helps me.”
She's Motivated
Torres shared some of her wellness secrets with Health. She shared what motivates her to workout on a regular basis. “I work out so I can feel good,” she said. “Sometimes I hit it hard; sometimes it’s just about getting it in…With working out, it’s about strength — being able to run up the stairs and just feeling like I can get myself out of a situation. I always want to come from a place of power, and of knowing my body. The fringe benefit of that is that I look great in some clothes … and am fit for life.”
She's Found Gratitude
In an interview with Glamour, Torres talked about finding gratitude in her life. “By the time I got to 40, I had already gotten to the place of real acceptance and gratitude. I felt like, if this is what it is, this is fucking fantastic. I’m healthy, I’m happy, and I get to do something that I love doing. How many people get to say that? And I get to make a living at it. My focus was to achieve excellence in an arena that I had great respect and awe for and to find my place in it. That’s what I wanted to do.”
She Takes Care Of Her Skin
For Torres, skincare is extremely important. She talked about this to The Bare Magazine. “There’s a picture of my family on my desk, and I’m reminded daily of the genetic lottery I won. Having said that, I do my best not to squander it and live as healthy and joyous a life as I can. And the older I get the more I try to stay hydrated, use sunscreen and a good night-time moisturizer.”
She's Comfortable With Herself
Torres talked about being comfortable with herself and her life in her New Beauty interview. “It feels good to be here and be alive and be viable and feel very much in my body. I feel sexy as hell sometimes, and I feel tired as hell sometimes—because I’ve earned that, too. There are so many great things that aging brings, including wisdom and a better sense of humor about yourself. Most of all, I love the joy of not sweating the small stuff. I think that’s the gift.”
