Summer I Turned Pretty’s Lola Tung in Bikini Stuns in Episode 7

Lola Tung is wearing a bikini in the latest episode of The Summer I Turned Pretty. The actress dropped jaws during episode seven, wearing a swimsuit at the Cousins’ house, leading up to her bachelorette party. Prime Video shared an image on social media. How does the actress approach mental and physical health? Here are her diet, fitness, and wellness habits.
Limiting Social Media
Tung told Teen Vogue that she tries to avoid reading social media comments. “It starts to get very overwhelming sometimes,” she says. “There are so many people giving their opinions about you, and it can sort of mess with your head. My mind feels a lot clearer when I don’t have social media on my phone.”
Gym Anxiety
Tung admits that the gym gives her anxiety. “Even doing the dance class, it seems so silly, but I get nervous,” she says. “I used to have such gym anxiety, because it scares me. There’s this British girl on TikTok, she’s a fitness influencer, and she always says, ‘There’s nothing I cannot do.’ One day I was like, ‘Yeah, you know what? There’s nothing I can’t do.’ I think that’s why I like theater. It feels like the scariest thing ever when I get on a stage, but I love it. I’m here. I feel alive, and I’m doing something scary, but it also makes me feel something in a way nothing else in my life does,” she told Teen Vogue.
Therapy
Jenny Han, who wrote The Summer I turned Pretty, encouraged Tung to try therapy, which helped her prioritize her well-being alongside doing the best work she can. “Thank God I did that at that point in my life,” she says. “Now I think there are times when, in a respectful way, I know how to say, ‘Hey, I’m sorry. Can I take two seconds to just go to the bathroom and collect myself?'”
Mostly Plant-Based Diet
Tung seems to abide by a mostly plant-based diet. During her Teen Vogue interview she ate vegetable gyoza. And, she also detailed one of the meals she recently cooked to The Cut. “I made my go-to easy dinner: pasta with goat cheese, spinach, and tomatoes. I added some tomato sauce, pepper, garlic. It’s good. I left it in the fridge to eat it the next day and then my sister ate all of it. But that’s okay,” she said.
Athleticism
Tung used to play volleyball in middle school. “I was really athletic in elementary and middle school. It was really fun to revisit that for the show. We had to practice volleyball a lot, which I enjoyed. You have to have enough energy to get through those long days,” she told The Cut.
