Surfer Caroline Marks Poses In The Pool For Sports Illustrated Swimsuit

The Olympian is appearing in the 2025 edition.

Caroline Marks is one of the best surfers out there. She made waves when she became one of the first two surfers to compete in the 2020 Olympics. She then went on to win gold in the 2024 Games. Caroline also got to appear in this year’s edition of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. In it, she posed in a pool wearing a pale yellow one-piece suit. She Surfs

Surfing is obviously one of the things that keeps Caroline in shape. She opened up about how she got into the sport in an interview with The Guardian. “I started surfing mainly because of my brothers and my dad,” she says. “My brother started competing and we lived right across the street from the beach. It was mostly just to be my brothers and just to kind of impress them.”

She Believes In Herself

Being an athlete can mean having to deal with a lot of pressure. Caroline tells Outside Online that she makes sure to believe in herself ahead of a meet, so she doesn’t succumb to that pressure. “As an athlete, you face a lot of pressure and high-intensity moments,” she said. “I’ve learned we all have doubts and fears but if you want to win titles you have to get over those mental blocks and believe in yourself.”

3

She Has A Good Balance

One of Caroline’s training secrets is making sure she has a good balance and doesn’t overwork herself. “I love to train and work hard, I crave that,” she says to Surf Girl Magazine. “But for me it’s more about finding a balance between the training and finding time for yourself and your friends. I’ve been able to really balance that this year and I’ve been having lots of fun, so I think that’s really helped as I’ve really got that joy back for surfing. It’s just been the most fun year of my life. That was a win in itself.”

4

She Ignores The Negativity

Being in the public eye means that Caroline has had to deal with a lot of negative comments on social media. However, she tells Sports Illustrated Swimsuit that she’s learned to ignore them. “At the end of the day, I think when people are making negative comments about you, it’s usually their own insecurity, and I think just learning that has been really helpful.”

5

She Has A Supportive Family

Caroline credits her success to the support she got from her family. “I genuinely love surfing so much and it just brings me so much joy and I think that’s part of the reason why I got so good,” she says to The Guardian. “And my parents when I was younger didn’t really push me that much. They pushed me, but they didn’t push me in an unhealthy way. They always were like, ‘Hey, we don’t even care what sport you do, we just want you to do something after school so you’re tired at the end of the day.”
