Tatyana Ali is an actress and singer best known for her roles on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and The Young & The Restless. Ali recently took a Zumba class with her co-star, Alfonso Riberio. She shared a video of herself in it on Instagram. She captioned the post, “Reunited and it feels so good 🎶I can’t even describe taking a @zumba class with @therealalfonsoribeiro. I was sweating from my eyeballs.” How does she stay so fit? Read on.

1. She Meditates

Ali revealed in the caption of this Instagram post that she likes to meditate. “It doesn’t matter where you are in life, all you need is yourself & a tiny bit of space to practice yoga and meditation. I don’t practice every single day as I should; but when I can catch 5 or 10 minutes to practice, the peace I feel is worth it every time.”

2. She Does Yoga

People,,Sports,,Activity,And,Wellness,Concept.,Side,View,Of,StylishShutterstock

As you can see from the previous Instagram post, Ali likes to do yoga. She is seen doing poses in the previous Instagram post. Harvard Health states that yoga has a lot of mental benefits. “Yoga develops inner awareness. It focuses your attention on your body's abilities at the present moment. It helps develop breath and strength of mind and body. It's not about physical appearance. Yoga studios typically don't have mirrors. This is so people can focus their awareness inward rather than how a pose — or the people around them — looks. Surveys have found that those who practiced yoga were more aware of their bodies than people who didn't practice yoga. They were also more satisfied with and less critical of their bodies. For these reasons, yoga has become an integral part in the treatment of eating disorders and programs that promote positive body image and self-esteem.”

3. She’s Consistent

Ali shared some of her wellness secrets with Black Doctors. She says that she makes sure to stay consistent with her routine. “Be consistent! Just like everything else in life, consistency counts. Sometimes we want instant results and get frustrated because they’re not coming soon enough or we hit a plateau. If you keep exercising and keep eating right though, results will eventually come.”

4. She Gets Enough Sleep

Ali revealed to Black Doctors that getting enough sleep is a big part of her wellness routine. “Health, to me, is more mental and spiritual than physical," says Ali. "But with the physical, I drink lots of water and sleep. You don't have to be out all the time. Go home and go to sleep. If you're comfortable with yourself and you're being yourself then your health will radiate.”

5. She Does Zumba

As you can see on her Instagram post, Ali takes Zumba classes. Piedmont states that Zumba has a lot of benefits. “You may feel sore in places you never knew existed, but it gets results. Zumba targets lots of different muscle groups at once for total body toning. You not only get aerobic benefits (it really gets your heart rate up), you also get anaerobic benefits – the kind that help you maintain a good cardiovascular respiratory system.”

Calderón is seen doing lunges in her Instagram video. Ace Fitness states that lunges are a great exercise to do. “They’re a form of unilateral training, which means you’re working only one limb or side of the body at a time. And unilateral training is a more effective way to build functional strength (than using both legs) because these types of movement mimic other everyday motions, like walking and climbing stairs — and not just to the working leg. Research suggests the strength gains to the nonworking side are about half of the strength gains of the working side.”

3. She Does Calf Raises

Tatiana.Calderón.calf.raisesTatiana Calderón/Instagram

In her Instagram video, Calderón is seen doing different calf raises. The Mayo Clinic states that these are a great exercise. “The calf muscles are located in the back of the lower legs. The tools of yoga include physical poses, breathing practices, meditation practices, hand gestures and a disciplined lifestyle of cultivating healthy habits. A general yoga class can ease your everyday aches and pains, and release stress. Yoga therapy goes further because a yoga therapist works with you to address your specific needs and goals while respecting any limitations you may be experiencing.”

5. She Plays Tennis

According to this video she posted on Instagram, Calderón likes to play tennis. She captioned the post, “Ringing in the new year with racket in hand! 🎾💥Swinging into the new year with a racquet and a whole lot of fun!” The Columbia Association states that tennis has a lot of benefits. “Whatever your age or level of athleticism, tennis is an excellent full-body workout that releases feel-good endorphins to help you relax and relieve tension. Its low-impact nature also means your joints and bones will thank you. Because tennis includes short bursts of activity, it offers the same conditioning benefits of interval training, which has an unparalleled positive effect on the heart and lungs, slashing your risk of heart disease by 56% (!). Just an hour of play burns between 400 to 600 calories.”

Lifting Weights

Bianca spends hours at the gym where she focuses on strength training along with endurance, cardio, reaction time, and reflexes. “You know, to be a driver, it’s a complete package. It takes strength. It takes mental fortitude. It takes reflexes, smart thinking, and survival skills,” she told MEGA Active. “Sometimes it's for the body, sometimes it's for the mind. However, a 2021 study found that cold water immersion therapy promotes post-sport recovery.

Working On Self-Esteem

Positive self-talk is also important. “Of course, I put a lot of pressure on myself, but in the end, I always tell myself that as long as I give my best and I learn from it, any mistake I make is valid,” Bianca explained. “I always try to repeat that to myself that I am valid. I’m here for a reason and there’s nothing I would rather do than be here.”

Cats rely on volunteers for their food and water and there’s a huge amount of them. There’s a city program to Spay and neuter with the wonderful @sobecats ladies and the feeding is made official by a City Sanctioned badge, yet new cats keep getting dumped daily sadly and there’s a never ending amount of work, emergencies and so on. I was on a feeding rotation but during the pandemic I was left alone caring for so many as people left town or couldn’t afford feeding anymore …I decided to start my own non profit @helpmiamicats . We feed close to 200 and when Batman got paralyzed took him and other special needs cats under my care … @stevensachs69 with the cat room and the amazing people involved devote their lives to these special souls … My life has changed a lot too … way less spare time, way more sweat and tears and lost the person I had by my side who had sadly other priorities … yet gained so much love from these lovely creatures !!! If you can please get involved in any way … follow @helpmiamicats , share, volunteer, adopt … donate … Only together we can make their world a better place !!! And yes … just me feeding the kitties and talking to them … 🤷🏻♀️👀😆❤️🙌”
