Tay Melo is a successful wrestler. She’s best known for working with AEW. Melo recently had a baby, and she’s working on shedding the pregnancy weight. Last month, Melo shared some photos from the gym on Instagram. In them, she wore a gray workout top and white shorts. She captioned the post, “Baby is sleeping, mama is working.” How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Tay Melo stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.

1. She Takes Care Of Her Mental Health

Melo shared some of her wellness secrets in an interview with Kung Fu Kingdom. In it, she talked about the importance of taking care of her mental health. “I was never really a shy person, but when I started in judo, I think because of depression due to the pressure of competition and everything, I started having some issues for which I had to ask help for. That’s when I realized that mental health is really important, so I did a lot of reading and had a great relationship with my therapist. Martial arts also showed me the importance of mental health in living a happy life.”

2. She Eats Healthy

Melo makes sure to eat healthy. She opened up about her diet in her interview with Kung Fu Kingdom. “I try to eat super clean – but of course, I end up having pizza and burgers,” she says. “Every time I’m on the road, I try to eat super clean. Rice and steak are my go to’s every time, and I also love carbs, so I have something with carbs every day.”

3. She Boxes

Melo loves to box to stay in shape. She shared this video on Instagram of herself sparring. Physical therapist, James Edwards, DPT, states that boxing has a lot of benefits. “Boxing combines punching drills and conditioning exercises that can improve your heart health, strength, endurance, balance and coordination,” Dr. Edwards said to The Cleveland Clinic. “It can also reduce stress, anxiety and depression and improve your confidence and overall well-being.”

4. She Does Squats

A workout that Melo likes to do is squats. In the previous Instagram video, she’s seen doing squats. According to George Mason University, squats have a lot of benefits. “Squats are a full body workout, involving your glutes, hips, abdominals, and upper body (when using weights). By doing squats on a regular basis, you are able to gain muscle, improve your stamina, and better your overall health. Squats can also improve your balance and posture because proper squat form requires good posture. When doing a squat, your spine must remain neutral in order to do it correctly. This posture can then improve your balance and posture, while standing, sitting, and walking.”

5. She Weight Trains

One thing Melo likes to do to stay in shape is weight train. And she doesn’t need to use actual weights to do so. In this video she posted on Instagram, she’s seen using a makeshift weight to workout on the beach. The American Cancer Society states that strength training has a lot of benefits. “Strength training increases bone density and reduces the risk of fractures. Strength training helps joints stay flexible and can reduce the symptoms of arthritis.”

1. She Swims

Melo loves to spend time at the beach or the pool. She posts a lot of photos of herself enjoying time in the water on Instagram. She posted this set of photos of herself and her partner swimming in the ocean in Porto de Galinhas. She captioned the post, “I can’t choose just one.”

Twitter,App,Blue,Logo,With,Bird,Printed,On,Paper,CentrallyShutterstock

Melo was able to open up about life in the public eye in an interview. She says that she decided to leave social media for her mental health, in order to avoid seeing haters. "I deactivated my Twitter. I never really talked about that before so it feels really good to put it out there right now.

3. She Knows Who She Is

In the same interview, Melo opened up about how she took care of her mental health. She says that a big part of it is knowing who she is. “Whenever I go to bed and I put my head on a pillow, I know who I am. I know I did nothing wrong and I was calm. I was like, 'I have nothing to worry about. This is just like people talking sh*t.' I always say if you don't know me personally, I am not gonna take it personally because you don't know me. You know the character that I play on TV. You know a little bit of my life. I don't put my life out there as everybody thinks I do. They just know whatever I want them to know and they don't realize it, which is great. I am doing my job well.

4. She Studies Nutrition

Melo has other ambitions outside of wrestling. She says in her interview that she is studying nutrition, which has helped her eat healthy. "I started studying to be a nutrition coach. It's kinda good for me because it takes my head away from wrestling a little bit because I have my own life you know. I have to have something outside, too.”

5. She Wants To Study Personal Training

In addition to studying nutrition, Melo wants to go into personal training. She says in her interview, “I want to keep studying and another goal is to be a personal trainer. I wanna combine everything and I want to learn as much as I can and maybe start my own business. For now, it is more for me to learn."

WNBA star Jewell Loyd doesn’t cut any corners when it comes to her workouts. Loyd, 30, shared a video of herself working out in the gym in black sweatpants and a purple shirt, sparring and flexing her biceps. “Back with my guy!!! @foxholecoach #5amclub,” she captioned the high-energy post. Loyd was dubbed the “Gold Mamba” by Kobe Bryant himself—here’s how Loyd is continuing on his work, and what her own training looks like.

1. Meditation and Workouts

Loyd starts the day with meditation and taking her dogs for a one-mile walk. “When it comes to breakfast, I do not hold back,” she told Women’s Health. “I love breakfast, and unless I’m just having a smoothie, I go all out. I love pancakes and waffles, and if it’s game day, I add bacon and eggs. I’ll never skip breakfast. Post-breakfast, I get training. Sometimes I’ll lift weights in the morning, but usually, it’s basketball first to just kind of get my body moving. If I’m starting with lifting, I try to get a nice sweat and get tempos in my lifts, but it doesn’t take me super long to get warm. I always focus most on my shoulders.”

2. PickleBall Star

Loyd has developed an appreciation for pickleball, and even takes part in tournaments. “I start with basketball workouts on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays,” she told Women’s Health. “On Tuesdays and Thursdays, it’s pickleball, and that’s a two-hour workout of technique stuff. Lately, I’ve been playing pickleball every day, getting ready for a tournament. My body’s been adjusting to a different sport, but it’s been fun. I grew up playing tennis, so I’m used to the spinning motions, but there really are different muscles being used compared to basketball.”

3. Gold Mamba Workout

Dubbed “Gold Mamba” by Kobe Bryant himself, Loyd created the Gold Mamba Workout to help aspiring ballers in his honor. "Kobe had a lot of information and, in his latest years after he retired, he did a great job of giving that information to the next generation of athletes, regardless of the sport they were in," Loyd told Business Insider. "For me, understanding that and knowing that I have information, I want to do as much as I can to give that back to the next generation."

4. Sleep Habits

Loyd tries to practice good sleep habits. “I'm fairly consistent, but depending on my workout schedule, my sleep fluctuates a little bit,” she told Women’s Health. “I obviously sleep better when I don't have to wake up for that 5:00 lift. But sometimes even when I don’t have to get up that early my sleep is still off because maybe I played an extra game of pick-up the day before or did something else and didn’t recover enough.”

5. Professional Training For All

Loyd says the 94FEETOFGAMEAPP allows Kobe’s legacy to be passed down and appreciated even by people who couldn’t afford one-on-one training. "This app allows people who really don't have resources or don't have a personal trainer to get professional training and advice — the real stuff and not just stuff from some people who don't know anything about the league," Loyd told Business Insider. "They're getting real access to Phil [Handy]— who's been in the league and has trained everyone from Kobe to Kawhi [Leonard] to Kyrie [Irving] — and real information, which is hard to get sometimes, especially for females. So allowing them to have that all in one place in an app is pretty amazing.”

1. Don’t Slack Off

Tay might play hard, but she also puts in the work when it comes to her training. “My training routine is kind of crazy, because I do a lot of traveling,” she explained to Kung Fu Kingdom. “So, I don’t really have a set routine, but of course, wrestling is my priority. I have some great people who help me with things like diet too, and whenever I have time, I train in judo and jiu-jitsu. So a lot of it depends on my traveling schedule, but for the ring material, I’m always preparing for that.”

2. Do Find Fun Ways to Stay Fit

Tay suggests finding fun ways to stay in shape. She especially enjoys group activities. “I started judo in a soccer club, so I’ve always had a love for soccer. So it’s like, Jiu-Jitsu, MMA, all martial arts, then soccer!” she said about her passions.

3. Don’t Eat Too Much Junk

If you want an amazing figure like Tay’s aim to eat healthy most of the time. “I try to eat super clean – but of course, I end up having pizza and burgers! Every time I’m on the road, I try to eat super clean. Rice and steak are my go to’s every time, and I also love carbs, so I have something with carbs every day,” she told Kung Fu Kingdom.

4. Do Exercise Outdoors

Tay likes taking her workouts outdoors. On a recent trip to Tulum, Mexico, she did squats and pullups in her swimsuit, sharing the video with her followers. “I’m in love with jungle gym 😍 workout in a bikini and with sea view ... it’s a dream,” she tweeted about the outdoor gym.

5. Don’t Forget to Love Yourself

Don’t foget to love yourself, says Tay. “Believe in yourself,” she told Kung Fu Kingdom. “It’s so simple and cliché, but I think it’s really important. When you believe in yourself and put in hard work, anything can happen. Whether you’re poor, or rich, and have your family helping you out, if you believe in yourself, and you work hard, you’ll be able to do whatever you want.”

Fitness influencer Tammy Hembrow is reminding fans and followers that working out is as much about feeling good as it is about looking good. Hembrow, 29, shared a video of herself wearing two-piece workout outfits, using heavy dumbbells. “Remember we all start somewhere. For me training isn't just about aesthetics, it's about the strength & mental gain I get from it. That strong feeling 🤌🏼🤌🏼 nothing quite like it. @womensbest creatine has always been a part of my journey & definitely has helped with my goals along the way,” she captioned the post. Here’s how Hembrow snapped back into shape after having two kids.

1. Working Out With Kids

Hembrow fits her workouts around her family. “I honestly feel better when I get my workout in, less sluggish and I find it easier to keep up with my kids,” the mother-of-two tells Women’s Health. “Whether it’s a gym workout or HIIT home workout I always try to fit it in when I can. I will often do some workouts from my at home booty program – you only need dumbbells, or I will do a HIIT workout in the lounge room. I recently posted an at home HIIT workout on my YouTube channel. I did it in the process of moving house when I was really feeling the need for a pick-me-up. There was a lot going on that week and I was feeling it, I decided to film and post it on my channel to show how I can fit in a quick workout throughout your day.”

2. Booty Diet

Hembrow had to fine-tune her diet to get enough protein. "For me lean protein like chicken breast, turkey and fish, really helps, but I find that with trying to build my booty I wasn’t consuming the amount of protein I needed so supplements like protein shakes helped too," she tells Women's Health. "But I didn’t supplement my meals with these, it was always a combination of both. I needed to eat lots to build that area so I also ate lots of complex carbohydrates like brown rice, oatmeal, potatoes and healthy fats. I eat every two to three hours. For breakfast I usually eat oats with Women’s Best protein powder. I always have protein shakes after my workouts and love to eat fish, chicken, turkey, beans and vegetables. I’ve been trying to cut back on meat lately which I have found difficult. I usually end my day with oats and protein again. Boring I know!"

3. Postpartum Fitness

Hembrow kept working out throughout her pregnancies. “What helped me bounce back is definitely how I ate and trained as I was pregnant,” Hembrow said. “I ate very clean, I had a lot of veggies, a lot of protein, and I tried to only limit my treats to the weekends, so during the weekdays I was eating clean all the time. What kept me going is how I wanted to look after the baby. I knew I wanted to get fit again after the baby, and be in the best shape I could be, so I wanted to make it easier for myself by staying active while I was pregnant.”

4. Waist Binder

Hembrow wore a postpartum binder to help get back into shape again. “For about a week or so, I wore a postpartum binder — they gave me one at the hospital,” she says. “I definitely didn’t just snap back to my pre-baby body once I stepped out of the hospital, you still look pregnant when you step out of the hospital. I wasn’t in a rush or anything, but as soon as I got home I was eating clean, I was wearing the postpartum binder, and then I started working out about six weeks after the birth.”

5. Juggling It All

Hembrow has learned to go with the flow since having children. “Being a mum and running a business is still a juggling act for me, I honestly just try my best to manage my time and plan but as a mom, you know that sometimes planning goes out the window,” she tells Women’s Best. “I’ve definitely learned not to beat myself up about failure. You can’t do everything right all the time, failing is a part of being a parent and a business owner. You learn from your mistakes and you’re often smarter from it. I guess you could say becoming a mum made me more resilient in my home life and business.”

Ana Zelu is a professional model and social media influencer. She is known for her content in nature. Zelu recently shared a post on Instagram of herself on a surfboard in the ocean. She captioned it, “Yesterday was such a fun shoot, I just had to share these with you 🤍 🛥️But picture number #4?? That photobomb totally got me 😂 Which picture is your favorite ?🌊”

She Swims

As you can see from her post, Zelu likes to swim. The Mayo Clinic states that swimming has a lot of benefits. “Swimming is often touted as a great workout for all ages, offering benefits not only for the body, but also for the mind. As a form of exercise, swimming keeps your heart rate up and builds muscle strength. It also can be a great form of stress relief.”

She Doesn't Compare Herself to Others

Zelu shares a lot of her thoughts on Instagram. In this post, she talked about no longer comparing herself to others. “Dear Diary 💭📝, Today’s contemplation led me to a profound understanding of the detrimental impact comparison has on our lives. It’s like a silent intruder, subtly creeping into our thoughts and poisoning our perception of ourselves and others. It’s a universal struggle, one that weighs heavily on the hearts of many. I’ve come to realize that comparison is the ultimate thief of joy. It robs us of our ability to appreciate our own journey and achievements, as we constantly measure ourselves against an idealized version of others. I’ve resolved to break free from its grasp. We should choose to celebrate our own unique path, recognizing that each step forward is a triumph in itself. Rather than fixating on external benchmarks set by others, I’m focusing on personal growth and development. Whether it’s through learning new skills, cultivating gratitude, or simply practicing self-compassion, every effort counts.”

She Hikes

Zelu is seen on a hike in the previous Instagram post. Harvard Health states that hiking is very beneficial. “Like brisk walking, hiking is a good way to improve your cardiovascular fitness, particularly if your route includes some hills, which will force your heart to work harder. Taking a hike on the slightly uneven surface of a trail also provides a natural way to engage the core muscles in your torso and to hone your balance skills.”

She’s Resilient

Resilience is another important thing to Zelu. She talked about this in the caption of this Instagram post. “Dear Diary 💭📝, I witnessed something truly remarkable that touched my heart deeply. It’s amazing how people can go through the toughest storms in life and yet remain gentle, patient, and kind. I saw someone who faced challenges that would break most people, yet they chose to respond with grace and humility. Their ability to stay calm and compassionate in the face of adversity is nothing short of admirable. It made me realize the beauty of resilience – the strength to keep going even when life throws its hardest punches. These individuals not only endure the storms but also emerge from them with a spirit that shines brighter than before. Their example reminds me of the power of kindness and the importance of staying true to oneself, even in the darkest of times. It’s a reminder that even in the midst of chaos, there is beauty to be found 💕🫶”

She’s Accepted Herself

Zelu talked about the importance of acceptance in this Instagram post’s caption. “Dear Diary 💭📝, Today has been a rollercoaster of emotions, but amidst it all, I feel like I’ve taken a step closer to the right direction. Letting go of the past is like shedding a heavy coat I’ve been carrying for far too long. It’s not easy to release the memories, the pain, the regrets, but today, I made a choice to loosen the grip they had on me. It’s like taking a deep breath after being underwater for too long—refreshing and liberating. Forgiving myself has been a journey filled with tears and moments of self-doubt. But today, I finally understood that I deserve the same forgiveness and understanding I give to others. It’s like giving myself a warm hug, wrapping myself in kindness and acceptance.”

The pedaling action can help strengthen your calves, hamstrings, and quadriceps. Additionally, it can work the muscles in your core, back, and glutes. If you use a bicycle with handles, you’ll also be able to work your upper body muscles, including your biceps, triceps, and shoulders.”

She Runs

Viciconte shared this Instagram video of herself working out. In it, she is seen doing running exercises. Viciconte captioned it, “When we exercise, our body releases endorphin, a natural substance produced by the brain during and after physical activity. The release of endorphin, also known as the 'joy hormone', helps you relax, reduces stress, anxiety and improves your mood. I always say that it's never too late to start moving, so you know that tomorrow you have no excuse 💪🏻”
