Taylor Swift made a splash yesterday, kissing Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce on the field after the team's big win at the AFC Championship. The 34-year-old star has since overcome the issue and has a great outlook on her body image. So how does she stay healthy mentally and physically? She Drinks Plenty of Water

The singer stays hydrated and told Bon Appétit, "I have so much water in my dressing room—because I drink, like, ten bottles of water a day."That's pretty much all we have in there." she said. Reda Elmardi, a Registered Dietician, Certified Nutritionist, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Trainer and owner of thegymgoat.com shares, "Hydrates are the most effective way to lose weight and keep your body fit. They are known to improve digestion, boost energy levels, increase endurance, and enhance athletic performance. Hydrates are a great way to get rid of toxins from the body. When we sweat out our toxins through exercise, they are stored in the muscles and tendons. If we don't replenish them, they can cause inflammation and muscle soreness. The best way to hydrate is to drink at least eight glasses of pure water per day. Water is the only substance that can dissolve all other substances. It is the perfect solvent. This means that water has the ability to break down any chemical bonds between molecules. Drinking enough water helps us feel full longer, which makes us eat less. Drinking water before meals helps reduce appetite. And drinking water after eating helps speed up the digestive process. It is recommended that adults should consume around 2 liters (about 5 cups) of water per day. However, if you are exercising regularly, you may need to double this amount. If you want to know how much water you should drink each day, here's a simple guide:

  • Drink half your weight in ounces. So if you weigh 150 pounds, you would need 75 ounces of water daily."

Has a Balanced Diet

Swift eats well-balanced meals like salads and protein, but doesn't deny herself foods she loves. " "I like comfort foods. I love a burger and fries, I love ice cream so much, and I love baking cookies," she told WebMD. Dana Ellis Hunnes PhD, MPH, RD is a senior dietitian at UCLA medical center, assistant professor at UCLA Fielding school of public health, and author with Cambridge university Press, of the new book, RECIPE FOR SURVIVAL says, "You're less likely to overdo any one thing that might be less healthy for you.  If you're allowed many things, but in moderate doses, you're more likely to eat them in a healthy manner.  For example, in my house, we buy these small non-dairy desserts and we each get one; it keeps us from wanting more of something less good for us."

She Cooks and Bakes

It doesn't seem like the busy star has time to do anything, much less cook or bake, but she squeezes it into her schedule and posts her delicious treats on Instagram regularly.  Elmardi says, "Baking is a great way to cook food because it uses less energy than any other cooking method. When baking, heat is transferred from air to the surface of the food being cooked. This causes moisture to evaporate from the surface of the food, leaving behind a dry crusty exterior that seals in flavor and nutrients. In addition, the oven provides a consistent temperature that allows foods to cook evenly. The benefits of baking are numerous. First, baked goods have a longer shelf life than their uncooked counterparts. Second, they can be stored at room temperature without spoiling. Third, they are easy to transport and store. Fourth, they do not require refrigeration, making them ideal for people who live in areas where electricity may be scarce. Lastly, they are relatively inexpensive compared to other methods of cooking. Generally, Eating at home can help you lose weight. This is because you are less likely to overeat if you eat at home. When you eat out, you are more likely to consume too much food than if you were eating at home. Also, since you are not forced to eat what's placed before you, you have more control over your portions. If you want to lose weight, eating at home is the best way to do it."

She Loves Running

Swift has been spotted running on a few occasions and told WebMD, "For me, running is about blasting a whole bunch of new songs and running to the beat. It's also good because it makes me find a gym wherever I am," she said. "I'm very much out in the world, and I love exploring the places we go when we tour. It's important for me to live a full life."  Brett Edmunds, a certified fitness expert & sports chiropractor with Paramount Health says, "Running is a great way to stay fit and lose weight. It is a high-intensity exercise that burns many calories in a short amount of time. To see results, you should run at least three times per week."

She's in Tune With Her Emotions

Swift is known for her strong storytelling and writing songs about her life experiences, which is cathartic for her. "From a young age, any time I would feel pain I would think, 'It's OK, I can write about this after school,'" she told Glamour. "And still, any time something hurts, like rejection or sadness or loneliness, or I feel joy or I fall in love, I ask myself, 'Can I write a song about this, so I know how I feel?'"

She Eats Healthy During the Week and Indulges on Weekends

The 34-year-old is all about allowing herself to enjoy life and that includes eating foods she loves. She told  WebMD, "During the week, I try to eat healthily, so that means salads, yoghurt, and sandwiches. No sugary drinks. I try to keep it lighter, but it's nothing too regimented or crazy. I don't like to create too many rules where I don't need them. We know what's good for us, thanks to common sense." Elmardi explains, "Cheat meals are meals that contain foods that aren't allowed on your diet plan. These foods can include things like alcohol, caffeine, sugar, and some other processed foods. Having cheat days allows you to eat whatever you want without feeling guilty about it. This way, you don't have to feel bad about eating something unhealthy if you're having a cheat day.

How Cheat Days Affect Your Body

Patrick Smith/Getty Images

According to  Elmardi, cheat meals are those days when you eat foods that aren't healthy for your body. This can include eating junk food, having too much sugar, or not getting enough sleep. "These types of cheat meals can cause your body to go into starvation mode and start storing fat instead of burning it off. If you want to lose weight, then you need to make sure that you don't have cheat meals.

  1. Weight Gain

If you are eating less than your body needs, you will gain weight. This is because your body will store any extra calories as fat. If you eat too much food, you will lose weight. This is because excess calories will be burned off as energy.

  1. Hunger

When you have fewer calories than your body needs, your appetite will increase. You may feel hungry even though you haven't eaten anything at all. When you eat more than your body needs, hunger decreases.

  1. Energy Levels

When you don't get enough calories, your energy levels will decrease. You may feel tired, weak, and sluggish. Eating more calories can help improve these symptoms."
