They have been linked to better sleep and even found helpful to minimize anxiety and depression. One recent study even found that they may even boast cardiovascular benefits.

3. Walking

Chanel also enjoys taking walks. Here she is on “a local walk - in the north.” Going for a daily walk can be a game changer in terms of exercise, especially at a brisk speed. Mexican actress Kate del Castillo doesn’t need a gym or large studio to get a thorough exercise session—even in a very small space, the star knows how to get a full body workout. Del Castillo, 51, shared a video of herself wearing black leggings and a matching sports bra, doing a mat workout and also using a punching bag. “This morning workout! Even in a small space you can totally rock it!” she captioned the post. “Great job, keep rocking it!” a fan commented. Here’s how Del Castillo is thriving in her 50s.

1. Personal Trainer Workouts

Del Castillo works out with a personal trainer to help streamline her fitness routine. “The workout routine that we worked on with Kate is a functional routine between body weight, boxing and elements like weights, elastic bands, balls, reference points and unstable surfaces,” trainer AlexFitBox tells Hola!. “It’s 50 minutes of nonstop training. The modality with which I work is called ‘estalle’ and it was created by me.”

2. Simple Beauty Routine

FOX's "Spring Press Event" - 2024FOX via Getty Images

Del Castillo feels more comfortable with less makeup these days. “When you grow older, less is better because makeup just makes you look older,” she told Glamour. “I try to keep it as natural as I can, but I think the best thing ever is just nice skin. If you have a good cream. If you have good skin, then you can do whatever and go from there. I try to keep up with my beauty routine for my face. A little bit of color here and there if I go out, but I’m obsessed with natural beauty, to be honest.”

3. Work Ethic

FOX's "The Cleaning Lady" - Season ThreeFOX via Getty Images

Del Castillo’s success is not just luck—she works incredibly hard. "I work hard and I love what I do," she told Morning Honey. "My dad [Eric del Castillo, an actor] has done over 350 movies. I've always lived through that, so I have a lot of respect and a lot of discipline because of my dad. For me, success is when you get to pay your bills and eat and have a roof over your head and do what you love. It's very important, but I also think it happened because I work a lot."

4. Proud Of Her Roots

Shark Beauty - Red CarpetJaime Nogales/Medios y Media/Getty Images

Del Castillo is proud of her heritage and wants to make the path easier for others. “I’ve always rooted for Hispanics. The biggest difference now is that I have my own production company,” she told Modern Wellness Guide. “I finally feel like I’m in the position to change narratives, and to fight for more names like mine to be on screen and also behind the camera. I am going to fight to make Cholawood Productions well known for diverse content created by diverse cast and crew. And, of course, we want more women behind the cameras and in leading roles that bring justice to every woman everywhere.”

5. Living Her Best Life

Del Castillo refuses to follow any beauty rules that interrupt her quality of life. “Or things that tell you you can’t even go outside or you can’t drink this or you can’t do that,” she told Glamour. “I’m like, ‘No, no, no!’ Just live your life. Life is short. Have a great time, take care of your skin, take care of your body, take care of your mind, take care of everything. You only have one body, and you have to take care of it all at the same time evenly. It’s not all about how you look; it’s how you feel inside, and that’s for sure is going to come out. For sure.”

Fitness influencer Chontel Duncan is hitting the ground running in the new year and encouraging her followers to do the same. Duncan, who has five children, shared a picture of herself in tan workout shorts and a white tank top, her hair tied back into a bun. “Kicked off the new year with a bang after months of chillin’ since October! 🚀 Crushed it with 5 epic @hiit_capalaba workouts and a hardcore glute session loaded with heavy weights. 🏋️‍♀️ This week was a mental and physical battle, feeling every rep and muscle ache more intensely. Had a close call on Tuesday – almost lost my breakfast mid-session, which is so not me! Now it’s Sunday, my rest day, and I’m buzzing with energy, feeling on top of the world. Can’t wait to dive into next week’s grind! 🌟,” she captioned the post. Here’s how Duncan lives her best—and fittest—life.

1. Fueling Her Workouts

Chontel.Duncan.1Chontel Duncan/Instagram

Duncan tracks her food and makes sure she is always getting the fuel she needs. “Everyone is different and what works for some, won’t necessarily work for others — it’s all about developing positive habits and finding what suits you, your lifestyle and your body,” she told Sunday Riley. “The perfect size and weight is in which you are living your happiest life. I believe strongly in balance and being realistic with your meal planning [but] if I’m working towards a goal in my training, I like to know that I am doing my absolute best to get there in a healthy way, so I will track my food to ensure I’m fueling my body correctly and providing a foundation for success.”

2. Weight Training Workouts

Duncan’s workouts are heavily centered on high intensity weight training. “Here’s the scoop on my session,” she captioned an Instagram video.

* Dumbbell Squat Cleans

* Kettlebell Swings 💥

* Plate Ground to Overhead Press 🌪️

* Overhead Lunges 🚀

* Echo Bike Sprints (that Left Me Breathless 🚴‍♀️)

* Dumbbell Thrusters

“No pain, no gain? More like, lots of pain, plus some gains! Felt some mild pulling but I pushed through. Kept the weights light, but my spirit was heavyweight.”

3. Balanced Diet

Chontel.DuncanChontel Duncan/Instagram

Duncan is a strong advocate for balance when it comes to diet. “Food is a huge part of my culture [Maori and Dutch] and some of my best memories with family were over meals, so I never jeopardize these opportunities to enjoy time with friends and family,” she told Sunday Riley. Life needs to be lived, so while we chase goals, don’t forget to be present in the moments that count. Consider your body like a car — when you fill it with cheap fuel and don’t look after it properly, it won’t perform at its best and could potentially stop working. Let good, wholesome, nutrient-rich food be your fuel so that you can train at your best. I am always very conscious to listen to my body and provide it with fuel when it needs it, but as much as I can, I work on consuming a full meal three to four times a day.”

4. Self-Care Advocate

Chontel Duncan:InstagramChontel Duncan/Instagram

Duncan is a big advocate for taking time for self-care. “Scheduling time for yourself is so important for your mental health,” she told Best Fit Magazine. “Create boundaries and make sure to set a time each day to switch off from your work or tasks, and focus on relaxation and doing something for yourself. It’s easy to get caught up, but taking a moment to switch off can help to clear your mind and recharge your batteries.

5. Back In the Saddle

Duncan has good advice for moms who want to get back into fitness. “Get organized, the more prepared you are and savvy you become at scheduling the easier it will be to squeeze in a 30 minute workout,” she told Beauty Haven. “How do you stay motivated to workout with such a busy lifestyle? I prioritize my health and I’m disciplined from a lot of hard work over the course of many years. I never rely on motivation, as I believe it’s most certainly all about discipline. Find a gym that has a crèche and does group training, you will find there will be a lot of other parents doing the same, so you will be surrounded by others with similar interests. Plus you’ll only be a stone’s throw away from bub and will make some lovely friends.

Lesley-Ann Brandt is dancing at the gym in her two-piece workout gear. In a new social media post the Lucifer star shows off her amazing body, including flat abs, in a matching exercise set prior to pumping iron. “Hahahahaha! This is pure gold!” commented one of her followers. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

1. Hardcore Workouts

Brandt doesn’t mess around at the gym. She spends five days a week training with Paolo Mascitti. "The reason why Paolo and I work so well together is that fitness is just a part of our lives — almost like another limb," she told Shape. "He also understands what every woman's body is different. I'm turning 40 this year, and he understands where I'm at with my metabolism and what my body needs to maintain muscle mass and strength so I can continue doing what I love."

2. Strength, Flexibility, Agility, and Endurance

During their hour-long sessions they focus on overall strength, flexibility, agility, and endurance, Mascitti told Shape. "We do a lot of plyometric exercises combined with strength training to accommodate her need to move quickly and for long periods of time while she's shooting."

3. Resistance Training and HIIT

High,Intensity,Interval,Training,,Hiit,,Crossword,Against,Textured,Handmade,Paper,Shutterstock

"To mix things up, we usually focus two or three sessions on resistance training, and two to three sessions of high-intensity interval training," he added. There is lots of research backing up the benefits of HIIT workouts, including body fat reduction, improved cardiovascular function, and mental health. It is also time effective.

4. Plant-Based Diet

Brandt sticks to a plant-based diet. "I always have a fridge full of vegetables," she says. She sticks to whole foods like quinoa, lentils, and beans and tries to avoid fake meats for the most part. "I'll be honest, I do love an Impossible Burger, but I honestly just fell in love with trying different cuisines, new recipes, and finding new ways to fuel my body and keep me energized,” she said.

5. Exercise Is Her Destresser and Helps Her Sleep

"I've never viewed fitness as a job. In fact, I feel bad when I'm not moving because I know what the benefits are, not just physically, but mentally. Sometimes, when I've had a really busy, stressful day and have worked 15-17 hours, I still make time to work out because I want the endorphins and want to sleep better at night, too,” she told Shape.

Jordyn Woods says she works out for the mental and well as physical benefits—so no wonder the socialite wrapped up the week on a euphoric note. Woods, 26, shared a selfie of herself wearing black workout gear in her car, fresh from an intense strength training workout. “No better feeling than ending your Friday with a strong lift 💪,” she captioned the post. Woods has lost weight, gained strength, and looks better than ever—here’s what her fitness and training routine looks like.

1. Proud of Her Progress

Jordyn.WoodsJordyn Woods/Instagram

Woods is thrilled when she sees her own fitness progress. "I have a love-hate relationship with cardio,” she told E! News. “Weights, squats, I feel like it all plays an important role. Just staying consistent and doing something everyday whether it's walking, jogging, squats, weights at home or going to the gym. I feel like a little bit of something every day is very helpful. I look back to videos of me working out five months ago or two months ago and I'm like, ‘Wow!' Because I do it everyday, so much has changed so fast."

2. Weight Loss Through Hard Work

Woods says she lost weight “the traditional way”, and worked hard for great results. “One of my favorite workouts to do involves a couple of various things. I like to challenge myself with sumo squats, starfish toe touches, scissor leg raises and lying knee tucks,” she told Hollywood Life. “I will do twelve to fifteen reps of those and repeat it three to four times. If you are not sweating after that and don’t get a good workout from there I don’t know what to say because that gets me going and really is something that works pretty great for me. If you check my app, you will see how I do it. I would love to see how others react to it and what they get out of it themselves!”

3. Empowered By Workouts

Woods admits going to the gym is still sometimes nerve-racking, but loves how she feels afterwards. “Going to the gym can always be intimidating because you never know who's going to be there, or what you're going to do — especially if you've never worked out before,” she told Teen Vogue. “I still get intimidated sometimes going to the gym. But you always leave the gym feeling more empowered than you did than when you came.”

4. Resistance Band Workouts

Detail,Shot,Of,Resistance,Bands.Shutterstock

Woods takes resistance bands with her when she’s traveling. “I love to do workouts with bands,” she told Hollywood Life “I will just use bands and anything you can find around the house because not all the time can I go to the gym, so me being on the road all the time and traveling it all has to be about convenience for me at the end of the day. So, doing banded workouts is super helpful and to mix it up with the bands is the way to go.”

5. Mental Health Benefits

Woods works out for the mental health benefits over vanity. “For me, working out wasn't to ever look a certain way, it was for my physical health but more importantly, my mental health,” she told Teen Vogue. “I feel like mental health is not something people are vocal enough about, but it’s something that everyone struggles with. I push it away, other people's opinions, because as long as I'm happy, it doesn't really matter what anyone has to say. I'm the person in my skin. I'm the person in my own body. And a lot of people just need to love themselves and focus on them and they wouldn't be worried about what anyone else is doing.”

Sophie Guidolin Shares Workout Routine

We are committed to bringing you researched, expert-driven content to help you make more informed decisions around food, health, and wellness. We know how important making choices about your overall health is, and we strive to provide you with the best information possible.

Sophie Guidolin is a fitness expert and IFBB competitor. She shares a lot of her favorite workouts on her Instagram. In a recent video, she is seen doing pull-ups and RDLs with a barbell. Guidolin captioned the post, “Your self-worth comes on the backside of doing the work. Are you proud of your actions, when no one is looking? Do you say what you say you’re going to do?”

She Does Pull-Ups

Guidolin is seen doing pull-ups in her Instagram video. According to Gymless, this exercise has a lot of benefits. “Pull-ups can give size and strength to your upper body muscles. It allows you to target your lats, biceps, traps, and many more muscles. Practicing this consistently along with other variations that target different muscle groups, inevitably will give you the muscular aesthetics that you’re seeking. A study emphasized this by suggesting that this close kinetic chain exercise is designed to increase the muscular strength and endurance of the upper body and torso.”

She Lifts Weights

Guidolin is seen using weights to workout in her Instagram video. ACE Fitness states that these exercises have a lot of benefits. “Using heavy weights increases intramuscular coordination, the number of type II motor units and the amount of muscle fibers engaged within a specific muscle. Have you ever felt your muscles shaking while lifting heavy weights? This is because you are recruiting and activating the larger type II muscle fibers, which are only stimulated to work when a muscle is challenged with heavy resistance or working to fatigue.”

She Does RDLs

Guidolin is seen doing RDLs with a weight in her Instagram video. NASM states that the exercise is very beneficial. “A Romanian deadlift is a hip-hinge pattern that works the hamstrings and glutes. It is a form of deadlift with noticeably less bend in the knee, leading to greater hamstring engagement than traditional deadlifts.”

She Braces Her Core

Guidolin flaunts her abs

Sophia Goulding/Instagram

Guidolin has an impressive core. She shared her secrets behind it in the caption of this Instagram video. Guidolin revealed that she doesn’t do traditional core workouts, but braces her muscles when she lifts weights. “You’ve probably heard the advice: ‘Breathe in as you lower the weight and breathe out as you lift.’ But when it comes to heavy lifting, people don’t always do that. Instead, I focus on BRACING my core: ➡️ Take a deep breath, tighten your core, and hold your breath as you lift. After the lift, exhale quickly, take another breath, and repeat. This comes naturally - think about how you instinctively hold your breath and brace when lifting something heavy at home. Bracing is especially helpful for big compound lifts, like squats and deadlifts. It’s also great for bodyweight exercises like push-ups and planks, helping you stay strong, stable, and in control. Observe your bracing and see what kind of difference it makes. 🫶”

She Does Squats

Sophie Guidolin does squats

Guidolin likes to do squats to keep herself in shape. She shared this video on Instagram of herself doing them with a barbell. Guidolin captioned the post, “First time under a the bar low bar in a low time and heaviest/highest volume back squatting since 2019. Felt easy. Flew up. Tried not to over commit to the goal and stuck to my numbers. I had 27 minutes exactly to train. 🫣🤯🥵yes, 27 minutes. 👀 school holidays and the twins in my care means I never want to impact my time with them, so this is what had to be done…

That included: 6 sets low bar back squats. 3 sets hip thrusts 150kgs, mind you 🥵👀. Adductor machine. Lying leg curl. Cable pull throughs. And hit my numbers on every single set, meaning I am either taking the piss normally, or dragging my feet. No excuses, just awareness. I seem to perform better under pain, that all too familiar pattern bias is strong 🥵👀🥺 My goals this year scare me, but not as much as failing. 🫶🏼✔️ go all in.”

She shared the clip via her Instagram Stories, also sharing a photo of her breakfast: A bagel sandwich and coffee. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Strength Training

Abby spends lots of time at the gym strength training with a personal trainer. Her routine includes squats, lunges, rows, planks, and lifting heavy weights. She regularly shares workouts in her Instagram Stories and has a tab devoted to them. According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Jump Roping

She also jump ropes. “My type of cardio,” she captioned an Instagram Story clip. “Not only can the repetitive movement of skipping rope elevate your heart rate, work muscles in the arms and legs and burn calories, it may even provide a quick jolt of joy,” says Nike.

Biking

In another Instagram Stories clip, she cycles on a stationary bike. The Cleveland Clinic explains that biking, a low-impact aerobic exercise, is excellent for building muscle, improving strength and flexibility, and improving balance. It can also boost mental health and help other health conditions, including arthritis

Coffee

Abby enjoys the perks of caffeine. She loves coffee. According to the Cleveland Clinic, drinking coffee in moderation has several benefits. “It acts on your brain to improve memory, mood, reaction times, and mental function,” they say, citing a study finding that caffeine can improve endurance and performance during exercise. It is also antioxidant-rich, can ward off diabetes, prevent neurologic disease, lower cancer risk, and ward off depression, they point out.

Sauna

Abby is all about the heat. She enjoys hot saunas. “Sauna got me good 💦😅💯,” she captioned a post. Should you take a dry sauna? While some claim the health benefits of saunas are plentiful, including detoxification, increased metabolism, weight loss, increased blood circulation, pain reduction, antiaging, skin rejuvenation, improved cardiovascular function, improved immune function, improved sleep, stress management, and relaxation, there isn’t a lot of research backing up the claims.

Either way, you know that the actress, model, and TV host is stunning and has a gravity-defying body. How does she keep herself physically fit at 30? Here is everything you need to know about her diet, fitness, and self-care approach.

She Exercises For 30 Minutes Per Day

Antje makes sure to move daily, but “Every day is different!” she told Women Fitness about her approach to exercise. “That’s my favorite part about my life. It keeps it interesting and keeps me on my feet. Some things I do keep in my everyday routine are my workouts. I make sure I hit the gym or do some type of physical activity every day, even if it’s just for 30 minutes.”

Strength Training

Strength training is Antje’s go-to workout. “I lift weights 4 or 5 days a week. I focus on one or two muscle groups at a time and make sure to alternate them so they have time to recover throughout the week,” she says. “I lift for about an hour.” According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Walking on an Incline and Running Intervals

Vivien Killilea/Getty Images

Antje gets a lot of use out of the treadmill. “Before I lift I warm up by walking at an incline for 5-10 minutes,” she says. “And I always end my workout with running in intervals for 5-10 minutes.” Walking on an incline burns more calories than walking fast or even running on a flat surface, so many experts suggest upping your incline. A 2013 study even found that walking on a 2 to 7 percent incline increased heart rate by almost 10 percent compared to running on a flat surface.

SoulCycle

Another workout she loves? Cycling. “I also Soul Cycle 3 times a week, which is my new obsession,” she revealed. The Cleveland Clinic explains that biking, a low-impact aerobic exercise, is excellent for building muscle, improving strength and flexibility, and improving balance. It can also boost mental health and help other health conditions, including arthritis.

A "Laid Back" Diet and Hydration

“My diet is pretty laid back. If I have something big coming up I’ll obviously be more strict on myself but it’s also hard when you have my lifestyle and travel a lot. I try to eat as healthy as I can on a regular basis though. I always make sure to eat a lot of protein, mainly chicken and other lean meats. I also make sure to drink plenty of water!” she told Women Fitness. Why should you focus your meals around protein? According to clinical trials, consuming more protein than the recommended dietary allowance not only reduces body weight (BW), but also enhances body composition by decreasing fat mass while preserving fat-free mass (FFM) in both low-calorie and standard-calorie diets.
