The Kissing Booth Star Joey King Shares Swimsuit Photos From the Tub
Joey King is taking the (cold) plunge in her swimsuit. In a recent social media post, The Kissing Booth star shows off her incredibly fit figure in a bathing suit while taking a tip in a freezing cold tub. "Spent the most magical morning with Alo," she captioned a series of Instagram Stories. How does the newlywed approach health and wellness? Celebwell rounded up some of her top lifestyle habits.
Healthy But Non-Restrictive Diet
"It changes so often," Joey told Women's Health about her diet. "I'll have whatever is in the house—sometimes pickles mixed with cereal." For breakfast she might have overnight oats. "Peanut butter is my favorite food, so I'll just drown [the overnight oats] in peanut butter," she says. She also loves peanut butter toast with fresh sourdough bread, an avocado and egg scramble, or a takeout breakfast burrito. Dinner could be anything. "There is no normal dinner for me," she says. "My favorite part about dinner is that the options are endless—we can cook, we can order, we can just do dessert for dinner. It doesn't matter," she says.
Walking Her Dogs
Joey's dogs, Fable and Jesse, help her get out of bed in the morning. "The best part about having animals in your home is that they need exercise. Even when you're feeling groggy and don't want to get up, you have to take the dogs for a walk," she tells Women's Health. "It's such a nice way to start the day," she says. "It forces you to get your legs moving and get some Vitamin D." She also ends the day with another 30-minute walk. "I love taking them for hikes because it's just so cute to watch them sniff everything," she jokes. "I could sit for hours watching them sniff."
Lifting Heavy
Joey is really into lifting heavy, which helps stabilize her back and builds strength. "Weights have always been my favorite because I find it to be the most enjoyable and I see the most change in my body," Joey says. "If I had to choose one workout for the rest of my life, I think it would be deadlifts."
YouTube Workouts
"I get bored really easily if I do the same thing over and over again," Joey says. "I'm not one of those people who can go to a class and have that be my workout four times a week." This is where workout videos on YouTube come in handy. "I'll literally just Google a workout, and [do] the first thing that comes up," she says. "There's this 30 minute kettlebell workout I love that gets me sweating."
Destressing with Exercise
"This sounds odd, but I didn't know I was the type of person that needs exercise to not feel wound up," she explained. "If I'm feeling pent up and I don't know why, if I just move my body, then all of a sudden I'm so much more relaxed," she told Byrdie.
Low Salt Diet
"I have poor circulation, so if I eat a super sodium-induced meal, I'll wake up super puffy in the morning," Joey told Women's Health. After cutting down on salt helped her, she started investigating how her body reacted to other food, testing out an elimination diet. "It sucks, but normally I like all foods," she said.
