Tiwa Savage Shares Swimsuit Photo on Fire

Here are her top lifestyle habits.

Tiwa Savage is heating up social media in her swimsuit. In a recent social media post the 43-year-old Nigerian singer and actress shows off her amazing body in a white bathing suit. "No face no case. Money too long but make I enter naija and resume work, I wan buy private plane," she captioned the photo of herself, eliciting lots of fire emojis from her followers. How does the gorgeous star maintain her impressive physique? Celebwell rounded up some of her top lifestyle habits.

1

Dealing with Insecurities

Tiwa, a self-described "chocolate girl," admits that she struggled with the European beauty standards of colorism when she was younger. "I actually did try to bleach my skin when I was about, I think, 14, 15," she told Allure. "Even now, on my back I have patches… My mom, she was cleaning my room and saw the cream that I used to mix with lemons. She wasn't even angry. It was more her disappointment. So I stopped, but I was always insecure about being dark."

2

Being Authentic

Savage tries to be "as natural as I am in real life," and avoids editing her flaws out of photos. "I have a platform and I'm digging more into my responsibility for younger people," she told Allure. "And I feel like there's so much pressure now and it's going to get even worse with social media and there needs to be a balance. There needs to be some people that are not too perfect. I know we want to look good. I don't want to be out there looking jacked up, but I also want to look relatable."

Tiwa is an avid reader. She told Allure that her favorite book is the bible. One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years compared with people who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

Meditation

Tiwa also meditates, she told Allure. "When you meditate, you may clear away the information overload that builds up every day and contributes to your stress," says the Mayo Clinic. Benefits include:

  • Gaining a new perspective on stressful situations
  • Building skills to manage your stress
  • Increasing self-awareness
  • Focusing on the present
  • Reducing negative emotions
  • Increasing imagination and creativity
  • Increasing patience and tolerance
  • Lowering resting heart rate
  • Lowering resting blood pressure
  • Improving sleep quality

5

Self-Care

Tiwa is all about self-care. Her favorite treatment is a Middle Eastern-based practice that generally includes a skin- and mood-transforming combination of a steam bath, full-body exfoliation, and light massage.

6

Breakfast

Tiwa doesn't skip the most important meal of the day. "I love English breakfasts, I love EastEnders, I love baked beans," she dished to Vogue.
