LaPrell does a lot of ab workouts to stay in shape. In this YouTube video, she is seen doing double leg lifts, crunches with her knees up, and mountain climbers. The Mayo Clinic reports that ab workouts have a lot of benefits. "Your core is the central part of your body. It includes your pelvis, lower back, hips and stomach. The stomach muscles sometimes are called abs. Core exercises train the muscles in your core to work in harmony. This leads to better balance and steadiness, also called stability. Stability is important whether you're on the playing field or doing regular activities. In fact, most sports and other physical activities depend on stable core muscles."

She Swims

LaPrell likes to swim to stay in shape. She shared these photos and video of herself in the water in Saint Tropez on Instagram. LaPrell captioned the post, "Endless blue." The Mayo Clinic states that swimming has a lot of benefits. "Swimming is often touted as a great workout for all ages, offering benefits not only for the body, but also for the mind. As a form of exercise, swimming keeps your heart rate up and builds muscle strength. It also can be a great form of stress relief."

She Has A Dog

LaPrell shared this set of photos on Instagram of herself with her dog. She captioned the post, "And they called it puppy love." Harvard Health states that having a dog has a lot of benefits. "Ongoing research is showing that the health benefits of owning a dog are undeniable. Dog owners have lower blood pressure and healthier cholesterol levels, and a lower risk of heart disease, than non-owners. There are also many psychological benefits to having a pooch around. Dog owners are less prone to bouts of loneliness, anxiety, and depression."

She Gets Vitamin D From the Sun

"A study done in Valencia, Spain, measured the amount of sunlight necessary to produce a sufficient amount of vitamin D in those with lighter skin. (Valencia is about the same latitude as Kansas City, Missouri.) The researchers took into account the amount of clothing and the season of the year. In spring and summer, 25 percent of the body (the hands, face, neck and arms) is exposed to the sun, and in these seasons, about 8 to 10 minutes of sun exposure at noon produces the recommended amount of vitamin D. In the winter, only 10 percent of the body is exposed, and nearly 2 hours of sun exposure at noon is needed to produce a sufficient amount of vitamin D," Robert D. Ashley, MD, told UCLA Health.

She's Played Tennis

"Tennis utilizes upper, core, and lower body muscles – but it's also one of the best cardiovascular and aerobic exercises you can do. Playing a few sets increases oxygen flow, circulation, and helps you fight back heart disease. That kind of physical workout also decreases lipids, which helps lower cholesterol," says Lee Health.
