Transplant Star Ayisha Issa Shares Swimsuit Photo of "Lake Life"
Ayisha Issa is an actress, best known for her role on the show Transplant. She recently enjoyed a vacation, and shared a highlight reel on Instagram. In it, Issa is seen enjoying food with friends, hiking, painting, driving, and sitting by the beach. She captioned the post, "For-rest Bathing." How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Ayisha Issa stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.
She Eats Healthy
Issa shared some of her diet secrets in an interview with Naluda Magazine. "I generally eat clean," she says. "One of my coaches has me on this green smoothie diet where I have it twice a day and it's actually very tasty! I also enjoy meat, fish and veggies. Some people would argue if meat is healthy or not but it definitely works for me with the hardcore training I put myself through."
She Practices Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Issa likes to practice Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and talked about this in her Naluda Magazine interview. "With Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, the most rewarding part is definitely helping people find new life skills through dedication and training. We basically teach our students what it means to fail and how it leads to success through resistance. It's very valuable to see adults and kids overcome their fears and challenges in pursuit of their goals not just in learning jiu-jitsu but also applying it to everything else in their lives to achieve the best they can. On the other hand, the most rewarding part of my work in acting really has to do with exploring who I am as a person through the characters I'm portraying and the situations they face. Acting is an opportunity for me to share vulnerable parts of who I am and I hope people can connect with that."
She Works Hard
Issa is a hard worker. She even competes in Jiu-Jitsu competitions, and talked about this to Naluda Magazine. "For me, it was about having the confidence to put myself out there, which I am very proud of. As a current brown belt, I'm obviously much better at Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu today than I was 5 years ago when I competed. I also happen to be on a team with several world champions who challenge me physically, mentally and push me to be my best. It really helps me stay humble and keep my ego in check, which I think is very important in a business like this. This only fuels me more to try again and again and keep on winning."
She's Grown
Issa tells Naluda Magazine that she believes that she's grown as a person. "I use acting as therapy. It's a great way to connect with and explore who you are as a person and how you fit into the world around you. I was very disconnected from the world and myself for a long time. Acting and Jiu-Jitsu together have had a tremendously positive effect on my outlook on life and helped me develop many valuable personality traits I strived for. As we all are, I am still a work in progress, but I'm proud to say I've come a long way."
She Takes Care Of Her Hair & Skin
Issa makes sure to take care of her hair and skin, and shared her secrets with Sheen Magazine. "When it comes to hair, I love bentonite clay masks and I make a mix for a deep conditioner using shea butter, apple cider vinegar and molasses under a heat cap. I do that as often as possible and have seen my natural hair grow really fast and stay manageable. I also like bentonite and apple cider vinegar as an exfoliant for my skin."
