Valerie Bertinelli Shows Off Amazing Body and "Feels Acceptance"

Her journey to self-acceptance and self-love is truly inspiring.

TV personality and actress, Valerie Bertinelli, appreciates her body. “At some point I will talk about the madness my body has been through this year. But right now every lump bump wrinkle and saggy part of me just feels acceptance and simple appreciation to be standing in front of a mirror in a hotel bathroom in downtown Manhattan ready to color my roots late on a Monday night,” she said on Instagram. Here’s how Valerie stays fit and healthy.

She Accepts Herself

She works on improving her self acceptance and self love. “I don’t care what you think of my body. I don’t care what you think about my posting about it. For the first time in my life, I love my body as it is. It’s not the 20 year old body that I hated and it really is a shame that I hated that beautiful body. Yes, it was a very different body than the one I now inhabit, but it hadn’t yet been through the journey I needed to go through. Even as challenging as it’s been and is, I am grateful for this journey and I wouldn’t trade this body for my 20 year old body any day. Ever,” she said on Instagram.

She Treats Herself

She indulges in the occasional treat. “Okay but have you ever frozen an apple fritter forgot about it found it and then heated it up in the air fryer for 2 minutes? I mean… Happy Sunday, everyone! 💖,” she said on Instagram, on a photo of her pastry and coffee.

She Focuses On Healing

She focuses on her mental health and healing. On the video of her walking in the woods, she said “what if healing isn’t searching for what’s wrong with you, but it’s gently digging up the parts of you that have been deeply buried within you. And what if the intention isn’t about fixing yourself, but it’s about discovering yourself. This is the journey within. It’s a journey of kindness and not force. Maybe it’s time that we’re way less judgmental, and way more curious,” she said on Instagram.

She's Grateful

She’s thankful for all the support and love she has. “I am learning that until I love myself and accept myself, all of me, my dark and light sides, I can never give someone else the love and emotional vulnerability that they need and deserve. You must give it to yourself first so that you can share it. Whoo boy. I’m workin on it. I’m so grateful to my friends and family for being with me through all of it. And @therealhoarse, thank you for being such a big part of my growth this year. I’m grateful for our experience and I’m so grateful I met you,” she said on Instagram.

She Spends Time With The Right People

She doesn’t surround herself with people who are toxic or bring her down. “When you remove toxic people from your life, the road to joy gets much easier to stay on 🤍✌🏻,” she said on Instagram, on a video of her looking happy and healthy at the beach, taking in the scenery. According to Mental Health America, “certain people and situations in life can trigger us to feel badly about ourselves or engage in destructive behaviors. Identifying the toxic influences in our lives and taking steps to create boundaries or a new life without them can improve mental and physical health over time.”

Demi Lovato is all about self-love! The 28-year-old, who has been open about their struggles with disordered eating and body confidence, shared an empowering message with fans on Tuesday via Instagram, alongside a gorgeous photo taken right after shooting a big new scene for the new TV series Hungry. Celebwell has rounded up 10 of the most empowering messages—including their latest musings—Demi Lovato has shared over the years to inspire self-love. Read on—and to get body-confident yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Sexiest Celebrity Photos—With Tips That Work For You!

1. Be Proud of Yourself and Celebrate Wins

“Had to film a sex scene today. My first one!” they wrote alongside the photo, wearing black lingerie. “I had a little anxiety going into it but the cast and crew were so professional and easy to work with, it calmed me down immediately. Then, I thought about how proud I am for being able to feel comfortable enough in my skin to do that. I rarely ever showed my arms before.. now I’m in this!! (Granted, it barely shows anything BUT STILL) I don’t always feel good in my skin, so when I do, AND I feel sexy enough to post - I do just that! It’s important to celebrate the little wins. Yay for this random burst of body confidence and yay for awkward hilarious sex.”

2. Find Time to Feel Comfortable in Your Skin

“I feel the sexiest in the bathtub w no makeup, no extensions, no lashes.. naked. Just me in my purest form. I don’t always feel comfortable in my skin/body so I’m beyond grateful that in these moments, when I’m most vulnerable I can feel beautiful & accept myself as is,” Demi shared in a recent Instagram post, along with a photo taken from the bathtub.

3. Celebrate Your Body’s Features, Stretch Marks and All

2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards – ArrivalsEmma McIntyre/Getty Images

On Christmas 2020, Demi opened up about their eating disorder recovery, celebrating their stretch marks by painting them in glitter. “I used to genuinely believe recovery from an eating disorder wasn’t real. That everyone was faking or secretly relapsing behind closed doors. ‘Surely she throws up here and there’, ‘she can’t POSSIBLY accept her cellulite’... those we’re just a few of the things that I used to tell myself growing up. I’m so grateful that I can honestly say for the first time in my life - my dietitian looked at me and said ‘This is what eating disorder recovery looks like.’ In honor of my gratitude for the place I’m in today, this was a lil shoot I did by myself in quarantine this summer when I wanted to celebrate my stretch marks instead of being ashamed of them. I started wearing actual glitter paint on my stretch marks to celebrate my body and all of it’s features (whether society views them as good OR bad) My stretch marks aren’t going away so might as well throw a lil glitter on em’ amiright? Also let this be a reminder to anyone who doesn’t think it’s possible: IT ACTUALLY IS YOU CAN DO IT. I BELIEVE IN YOU. This year was tough.. be gentle on yourself if you slip up and remember to get right back on track because you’re WORTH THE MIRACLE OF RECOVERY I LOVE YOU.”

4. There Is Always Hope

OBB Premiere Event For YouTube Originals Docuseries "Demi Lovato: Dancing With The Devil"Rich Fury/Getty Images

During an appearance on On Air With Ryan Seacrest, Demi pointed out that no matter how far you fall, there is always hope. "It's going to be okay. No matter how hard your rock bottom is, you can rise above it and you can come back."

5. Embrace Your Body

2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards – ShowKevin Winter/Getty Images

"I'm not naturally super thin. I have an athletic body. I just have to embrace that. There are days when it's hard to, but more and more, there are days where I'm actually proud of my body,” Demi told Complex.

6. Be “Authentic,” “Unashamed,” and “Real”

In September 2019, Demi shared a photo of their bikini body, refusing to add filters. “This is my biggest fear. A photo of me in a bikini unedited. And guess what, it's CELLULIT!!!! I'm just literally sooooo tired of being ashamed of my body, editing it (yes the other bikini pics were edited - and I hate that I did that but it's the truth) so that others think I'm THEIR idea of what beautiful is, but it's just not me. This is what I got. I want this new chapter in my life to be about being authentic to who I am rather than trying to meet someone else's standards. So here's me, unashamed, unafraid and proud to own a body that has fought through so much and will continue to amaze me when I hopefully give birth one day. It's such a great feeling to be back in tv/film while not stressing myself with a strenuous workout schedule before 14 hour days, or depriving myself from a real birthday cake rather than opting for watermelon & whip cream with candles because I was terrified of REAL cake and was miserable on some crazy diet shit. Anyway, here's me, RAW, REAL! And I love me. And you should love you too! Now back to the studio.. I'm working on an anthem.. also. Just so everyone's clear.. I'm not stoked on my appearance BUT I am appreciative of it and sometimes that's the best I can do. I hope to inspire someone to appreciate their body today too."

7. Beauty Comes From Within

2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards – ArrivalsPhillip Faraone/Getty Images

“Having strength and confidence in yourself. I think that women who know who they are are beautiful,” Demi told Glamour. They try not to let other people impact their happiness. "I don't let anyone's insecurities, emotions, or opinions bother me,” they told Seventeen. “I know that if I am happy, that's all that matters to me. And it's okay to be selfish like that sometimes, when it comes to your well-being. Do what makes you happy, and don't care what others think."

Euphoria star and model Barbie Ferreira—she plays newly confident, professionally dominant Kat Hernandez on the hit HBO series—is maxing and relaxing, and sharing the pictures. “Burnt cheeks in bora bora wow what a week,” she captioned her latest photo dump, with photos of her having a blast on the beach. How does she stay so healthy and together while in the limelight? Read on to see 7 ways Barbie Ferreira stays in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

1. She Does Pilates

Ferreira’s exercise regime “involves Pilates a few times a week. I’ve started seeing a personal trainer, which has been more challenging, but I guess that’s the point,” she told Elle. “Pilates may sound intimidating, but it's an accessible way to build strength in your core muscles for better posture, balance and flexibility. Pilates can be adapted to provide a gentle strength training and stability program, or it can be modified to give a seasoned athlete a challenging workout,” says the Mayo Clinic.

2. She Has a Complex History With “Body Positivity”

Celebrities Visit Build - July 25, 2019Gary Gershoff/Getty Images

“When I started modeling and I was seen as a body-positive figure, I was a size 10-12 white girl with 'proportions' and a skinny face, and I feel like I contributed to the watering down of what body positivity really means," she said in an interview with Jezebel. “That’s why I stay away from it…I feel like I was also promoting this idea that a lot of body-positivity, capitalist schemes are doing where it’s like, let’s get this digestible girl who looks like a skinny woman who fits our beauty standards if you just cropped out her body.”

3. She Tries Not to Be Hung Up on Her Looks

When she gazes into the mirror, Ferreira sees “my jawline. Most people won’t believe this because of the selfies I post, but I try not to stare too much in the mirror. I like to give myself permission to live life without being too hung up on what I look like,” she told Elle.

4. She Was a Big Runner

"Euphoria" PremiereJeff Kravitz/FilmMagic for HBO

Way back in 2015, Ferreira told Elle: “I'm a big runner, and I like to lift heavy. I'm not one for those little two-pound dumbbells – my goal is to be super-muscular in my 40s. Women get so worried about bulking up, but you don't really get big as a woman, it's not like you wake up one day and you're a muscle machine. I like classes, but only when it's not hardcore, because that's still an insecurity of mine. In sports I was never as good as anyone else, I was dead last every race – one time I was third to last and I was like 'oh my god! Nailed it!'”

5. This is Her Go-To Condiment

Garlic,Sauce,AioliShutterstock

Ferreira is really into a raw vegan garlic spread from Whole Foods. “Lowering blood pressure is only part of the story of garlic's effects on the cardiovascular system. Using the spicy cloves in your cooking may also bring down your cholesterol. A 2013 scientific review concluded that the allicin in garlic could help reduce blood lipids, which include cholesterol and triglycerides. The review found other positive effects of garlic on heart health, too, including relaxing blood vessels and preventing abnormal enlargement of the heart muscle,” says our sister site Eat This, Not That!

6. She Created the “Fat Agenda”

“When I became friends with other plus-size models and other curve models, [the Fat Agenda]—a group and text chain—“was like... the joy of knowing that we’re all beautiful, we’re all big girls, and like, you know, even though we’re different than everyone, we can all talk about it to each other,” she told Jezebel.

1. She Changed Her Relationship with Food and Exercise

Selma maintains that going on Dancing with the Stars revamped her approach to health. She swapped out Cheetos and charcuterie with fueling meals and exercise. "It changed my relationship to food and exercise," she told Self. "I had energy and I slept well."

2. She Also Learned Self-Acceptance

She added that going on the show also helped her with self-love. "It rewired me to find acceptance in being honest about my faults, about my past addiction, and about my problems," she told Self. "It made me more empathetic towards myself."

3. Her Dog Is Part of Her Support System

Selma reveals that her dog is part of her support system: “He’s actually my real service dog. It’s unbelievable. It’s embarrassing sometimes,” she told Self. “It feels like I’m dating the guy from the football team. Like I finally have a cute boyfriend.”

4. She Prioritizes Wellness

FIJI Water at The Hollywood Reporter's 29th Annual Women In Entertainment BreakfastCharley Gallay/Getty Images

"In my own search for wellness, I have realized some essentials. Feeling so unwell for much of my life, I could be quite ‘full on’ with attaining physical health in the past. I compartmentalized. I paid attention to the aspects of wellness that would get me feeling physically lighter, like gut cleanses and nutrition—using food as medicine. But it’s been feast or famine not having the stamina because of undiagnosed MS and POTS. Now that I am recovering, I have embraced the physical with the emotional, mental, financial, spiritual, and social [aspects of] wellness. COVID isolation years have been a mirror, showing me that calming my nervous system really does involve so many areas of wellness. Writing, horseback riding, or even having my service dog as my ever-constant companion, help me focus and breathe. I have lassitude and extreme fatigue, so self-motivating is a challenge. I am proud that I can manage a lifestyle where my animals can give so much comfort and energy, so I can feel supported while raising my son. It took many years and a diagnosis to stop the treadmill of searching behind closed doors. Perspective and wellness are [both] reassuring,” Selma told Coveteur.

5. She Gets Massages

"I am in the process of learning rituals that work for me. My wellness routine definitely involves makeup, cleansers, and lymphatic massages to move all the groggy cellular debris that wind up in my jowls,” Selma told Coveteur. She also rides her horse, drinks “more water than I ever dreamed of,” keeps her movements “smaller and more fluid by playing and working on training with my dog is a big part of keeping me moving and grounded. Little tricks move the needle for me more now. I stopped my constant coffee drinking all day in lieu of this sports tea used by climbers. I have a tablespoon of sea moss jelly every morning and evening. I must swim as much as possible, in the ocean or in my cold pool. [First thing in the morning] I jump in; I need the shock."

Sarah Nicole Landry has become one of the biggest names on Instagram. She’s gained fans for her honest revelations about weight, relationships, and health. Landry has never been afraid to post stunning, revealing photos on Instagram. She just posted a new set of photos of herself posing in a pink bathing suit. In the caption, Landry wrote a poem about her body:

"An ode.

One that doesn’t always need words

Yet is writing an entire poem.

Every stripe, a strike of the pen

Every fold, a turn of the page.

The birthplace of memories.

Belly,

You are a work of unwritten art."

Read on to see 5 ways Sarah Nicole Landry stays in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

1. She Gives Herself Grace

In an interview with Jillian Harris, Landry was asked what piece of advice she would give to someone struggling with their body image. Landry answered, “To give themselves grace and remember they are not the problem or something to fix, but a person who has been saturated with messages of not being enough. Even on the worst of days, that we all deserve to show up and live our lives and make memories in them!

2. She Follows Positive Accounts

Create & Cultivate 100 Launch PartyStefanie Keenan/Getty Images

One way Landry has developed her sense of body positivity is by following other body positive accounts. She tells Jillian Harris, “A big part of this has been following folks who echo positive messages about our relationships with food. That there is no moral value on food, no good, no bad, no “guilt-free” or “cheat days”. There is a spectrum of nutrient density, but not a moral value. Something that’s really helped me over the years.”

3. She Shows Up For Herself

Landry tells Jillian Harris that she is always showing up for herself, and wants others to do the same. “I think my goal would be to show more that we don’t have to FEEL confident or FEEL love for our bodies but SHOW UP confidently and SHOW UP in love. That doesn’t have to be rocking a bikini but rocking whatever makes you not focus on your body so you can focus on the life around you.”

4. She’s All About The Love

Landry posted this set of photos on Instagram, where she talked about diet culture, and how it has caused people to hate their bodies. Landry says that her reaction is to love her body, at all costs. “Hate is a powerful thing. But to LOVE in the face of it… Well that’s just a whole other kind of powerful.”

5. She Didn’t Feel Pressure To Lose Weight

Landry posted this set of postpartum photos on Instagram, and talked about how she is avoiding the pressure of getting back to her “pre-baby body.” She writes, “It’s ok if you look like you gave birth when you did. And honestly, if it’s going to widely accepted that there can be dad bods for men who aren’t fathers, then this statement can also be true: It’s also ok if you look like you gave birth when you *didn’t*.”

Mariana Morais is showing off her ab-fab figure – in a two-piece exercise set. In a new social media post, the fitness influencer flaunts her fantastic figure in a brown sports bra and leggings. “Self Progress & Development is not always linear. Sometimes we take steps back & that’s just a sign to course correct so we can leap forward. If 2024 wasn’t the year you expected, use it as an opportunity to learn, grow, & carry on. It’s you VS you - continue to try, focus on consistency > perfection & you will prevail 🤎 rooting for us all to strengthen our mind & bodies this year,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Strength Training

Mariana relies on old-school strength training to keep her body toned. “Training till failure instead of reps + taking my ab routine up a notch by incorporating weighted exercises,” she wrote about one of her workout tactics. “I can feel my muscles being challenged and am in tune with my movements.” According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Prioritizing Digestion and Getting Blood Work Done

Other healthy habits? “Prioritizing digestion,” she writes in the same post. “Making sure I get enough fiber & starting off every morning with a juice cleanse. This has helped me feel so much better everyday.” She also gets regular blood work done. “So important to check your levels and know what’s going on in your body routinely! Don’t skip the doc apts, always better to be preventative.”

Hiking

Mariana enjoys hiking. “Elevation therapy,” she captioned a post from one of her fitness adventures. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:

  • Building stronger muscles and bones
  • Improving your sense of balance
  • Improving your heart health
  • Decreasing the risk of some respiratory issues

Mariana does reformer Pilates. “POV: Stepping into the prettiest torture chamber,” she wrote across a video of herself at the studio. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Emsculpt NEO

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.

She’s Consistent

Last year, Culpo was preparing for her wedding. She told E! News that she made sure to be consistent with her wellness in order to prepare. “Really trying to dial in [on] what I eat, how I workout, the workouts that I do. Trying to get them in consistently because you only get married once and I want to feel my best. But this past season it was just hard being so far away from my normal routine and where I typically live."

She Keeps Her Skin Healthy While Traveling

Culpo has amazing skin, and she makes sure to take care of it, even while traveling. “I don't wear any makeup when traveling," she says to Travel + Leisure. "That's one rule because I do feel like you will have a higher chance of breaking out if you are wearing a full face of makeup. A few things I always have with me is some sort of a spray. I love Dr. Barbara Sturm or Caudalie or La Mer. I also absolutely love traveling with a makeup wipe, the Neutrogena wipes are great. Something to just take off the sweat you build up.”

She Keeps Her Skincare Simple

Culpo shared her skincare routines with Byrdie. She says that she keeps her morning and night routine simple. “I am always trying out new products, so what I gravitate toward is often changing. At night, I usually use an oil and a serum. Right now, I love the Clarins Double Serum. In the morning, I use a Vitamin C serum and an SPF, and, typically, I just rinse my skin with warm water instead of using a cleanser. It is something I swear by—it allows for the oils on my skin from sleeping to absorb naturally.”

She Uses Products With Vitamins

Culpo shared some of her favorite skincare products with Byrdie. She says that she uses ones that have vitamins in them. “I have noticed a huge difference in my skin with vitamin C and E. I love the Good Janes H2OMyGod Moisturizer—it's sort of an all-in-one moisturizer that has vitamin C and collagen peptides. As for vitamin E, I actually just purchase the oil from the drugstore. It is super cheap and great to put on any red marks I may get from an occasional breakout. The healing process is so much quicker when I am using Vitamin E oil.”

She Packs Healthy Snacks

Culpo makes sure to eat healthy. She shared some of the snacks she packs with her with Travel + Leisure. "I love the Kind bars. I love any sort of nuts, to be honest with you. They are a go-to snack for me. I would say Peroni Nastro Azzurro 0.0% and some almonds would be perfect! Also, electrolytes to stay hydrated or some sort of collagen beauty powder or something."

Abigail Ratchford’s amazing body has helped her become one of the most famous models on the internet. The 32-year-old, who boasts over 9.1 million followers on Instagram alone, attributes her measurement-defying body to a few simple habits. Here is everything she does to stay fit at 32.

She Follows 4 Diet Rules

Abigail swears that abiding by simple rules helps her stay in shape. “I can’t diet. That just doesn’t work for me,” she told New Beauty. “I started to be healthier by first cutting out soda. Then, I stopped eating after 7 p.m. Finally, I started really watching my portions so I was eating fewer calories every day. And water—lots and lots of water.”

She UsesMyFitnessPal

Abigail explains being accountable for what she eats is crucial. While it’s not “rocket science,” she does use the MyFitnessPal app to track her eating. “I’m the type of person who likes to eat what I want. The app can help anyone do that—you can still eat great food, you just eat less of it,” she added New Beauty.

Pilates

Abigail is a fan of Pilates. “Group workout classes are so big right now, but I always get nervous around other people in settings like that. I have to go at my own pace without a bunch of distractions so, for me, Pilates with a one-on-one instructor works best. It’s not cheap, but then you also aren’t tempted to skip,” she said She added to Men’s Fitness via Muscle & Fitness that the workout “keeps you long and lean” — and the Mayo Clinic agrees. They say it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, relief from stress and back pain, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Balanced Diet

“I love green juices and smoothies. Sometimes I’ll put some protein powder in the morning—I feel like the mix of vegetables, and vitamins and stuff that’s in them, really gives me a lot of energy in the morning. I love BBQ food—my ultimate cheat is a pulled pork sandwich, sweet potato fries, and macaroni and cheese from this great place in LA,” she told Men’s Fitness.

Strength Training

Ratchford also lifts weights. “Initially, I made the mistake that a lot of girls do and I was only doing cardio. I just really didn’t see too much change in my body. I’ve been listening to my girlfriends who are in great shape and they say you have to do weight training, you have to go in and do squats. That’s my new thing—I’ve been doing some resistance training, circuit training,” she told Men’s Fitness. The Mayo Clinic explains that strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

Develop strong bones

Manage your weight

Enhance your quality of life

Manage chronic conditions

Sharpen your thinking skills
