Vanessa Lachey is mourning the unexpected cancellation of her show NCIS: Hawai’i. Lachey, 43, shared a video of herself wearing black shorts and a sports bra, perched on a rock overlooking the ocean. “I’m wishing for my crew and my cast that we all remember the beauty of what we had… we will spread this Aloha in every direction we go. I wish we had more time, I’m sorry we don’t. I wish we had a proper good-bye, I’m sorry we didn’t. I know we ALL are connected deeper than any TV show. I will go to the ends of the earth for my cast & crew! If you come across ANY of them… hire them! You won’t be disappointed. Salt of the earth people!” she captioned the post. Here’s how Lachey stays fit and happy.

1. Family Breakfast

Healthy,Low,Carb,Breakfast,Plate,With,Homemade,Scrambled,Eggs,,FreshShutterstock

Lachey eats the same breakfast every day with her family. “I’m a creature of habit,” she told Carrots ‘N’ Cake. “I wish I had a personal chef to create either a healthy start to my day with a personalized smoothie or a gluttonous feast with 10 sides! Haha! But instead, I do a scrambled egg and toast with butter. If I’m feeling frisky I’ll do a cheese omelet and toast with butter. It’s nice because we make eggs and toast… with fruit most days, so we eat breakfast as a family.”

2. Me Time At the Gym

Lachey treats her workouts life self-care. “I have found that I need motivation to work out, so I go to a trainer, Gregg Miele at Heart & Hustle here in Los Angeles, when I have time,” she told New Beauty. Although some days it doesn’t work out perfectly, and I just remind myself that I need ‘me’ time because that is equally important.”

3. Working Out With Nick

Lachey and husband Nick spend their quality time together at the gym. “We just are so tired by the end of the day that we want to stay at home and have dinner and watch our favorite Netflix show,” she told Carrots ‘N’ Cake. “So, we started doing ‘day-dates’ two days a week. We go to the gym together. We do a personal session at Heart & Hustle Gym in LA, then have lunch before we head home.”

4. Constant Communication

Lachey says constant communication is the key to a happy marriage. "If people really turn towards each other and communicate, you will find that a lot of misunderstandings will get resolved," she told PEOPLE. "You will find that nobody's a mind reader and you can actually really hear your partner out and understand where they're coming from and maybe help cater to that."

5. Postpartum Journey

Lachey has two children, and was gentle with her postpartum health after each one. “There are no tricks!” she told New Beauty. “Every woman is different. For me, the key was embracing my new body and loving how I am as a mother. I tried to surround myself with positive, loving people, and that helped. Also, just taking everything in baby steps, no pun intended. It took your body nine months to get there, and it’s not going to go back overnight.”

Former Dancing With the Stars cast member Sharna Burgess is getting back into her best dance training since leaving the show. Burgess, 38, shared a video of herself dancing at a studio, wearing gray joggers and a white sports bra. “An imperfect work in progress. @julztocker I love how much we laugh with and at each other while trying to get it together lol. Back to basics today and it’s shocking how off balance and stiff I was/am. On DWTS I never focused on my own dancing but rather sacrificed it to be what and where my partner needed. I developed bad habits and my technique got lazy. This combo is a version of something I used to do every single day while I was with Burn the Floor,” she captioned the post. Here’s how Burgess is living her best life.

1. Postpartum Care

Burgess welcomed her first child with Brian Austin Green in 2022 and took her time getting back into fitness again. “Honestly, I thought I would [feel pressure]. I thought it would be because of having been an athlete and my body being my career — it’s not just about aesthetics on the outside, it’s about how my core feels to be able to dance and do what I do,” she told Us Weekly. I thought I would feel that pressure. [But] I don’t have pressure on myself.”

2. Love Your Workouts

Burgess has good advice for people just starting out on their fitness journey. “The best form of exercise is one that you enjoy,” she told PEOPLE. “Find a local dance studio, take a friend to hot yoga – make it a social thing if you struggle to find the motivation. Once there are changes in your body and your energy levels, that will be all the motivation you need.”

3. Goodbye To DWTS

Burgess has mixed feelings about not being asked to return to Dancing With the Stars. “Because it was such a shock, because I wasn’t expecting it, it was tough,” she told Variety. “It’s not the first time. My last five years on the show have been rocky — not because of the show. I love the show deeply, but we had a new executive producer come in, I think five years ago now. I had just won with Bobby Bones and he decided to not bring me back,” Burgess said. “There’s a lot of speculation as to why.”

4. Rest Day

Burgess always takes one day a week to rest and relax. “It’s a sleep-in, eat chocolate, and do whatever I want kind of day,” she told Now To Love. “That helps me stay in line throughout the rest of the week. I have very low willpower when it comes to food, but if I have my structure, and I know that I can indulge at the end of the week, then I feel good about it.”

No Off Season

Burgess doesn’t allow herself to have an ‘off season’. “I need to be equally as fit on and off season,” she told PEOPLE. “During the season I have less time for the gym – especially once we get into the final weeks. But if I cannot get my cardio in, I try and take a hot yoga class for stretching and calming my energy.”

3. Tiffani Theissen

Tiffani Theissen joined the show as Valerie Malone in season five. I do strength training and HIIT classes Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and then I do mat Pilates on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On the weekends I usually go hiking. In California we have such great hikes.”

4. Brian Austin Green

Brian Austin Green played David Silver on the show. Green has both ulcerative colitis and vertigo, and has dealt with stroke-like symptoms in the past. In an interview with ABC News, he shared his advice for others going through similar things. “Go see multiple people. Get opinions from a few different places. You have to know that there will absolutely be a light at the end of this tunnel."

5. Jason Priestley

Jason Priestley played Brandon Walsh on the show. He supports the Breakfast Club of Canada, which helps people access healthy breakfast options. Priesltey encouraged others to support and revealed how they could do so in an interview. “When I heard that one in four kids here in Canada have problems having access to healthy food in the morning, I felt like getting the word out about the Buy a Cup Give a Cup program was the right thing to do. It’s such an easy way for Canadians to give to this program and to give to the Breakfast Club of Canada.”

6. Hilary Swank

Before winning two Oscars, Hilary Swank appeared as Carly Reynolds in season eight. She revealed to Man Repeller that she makes smoothies in the morning. “I use kale, spinach, blueberries, flax, chia and green — like a supergreen. The bottle has to say supergreen! I also use cacao and a frozen banana. And I never put an avocado in because that makes me gag. I have this every morning whether or not I work out because I don’t think I get enough vegetables or fruit in otherwise. I only use a handful — as much as I can eat because who eats ten apples? Nobody.”

7. Kathleen Robertson

Kathleen Robertson played Clare Arnold on the show. She talked about her career in an interview with Canadian Living. Robertson says that she is working on not getting ahead of herself and thinking in the present. "It's something I have to work on as I get older. When good stuff happens to me, my natural instinct is to say, ‘OK, cool,' and move onto the next thing.”

8. Ian Ziering

Ian Ziering played Steve Sanders for the entire series. He also is known for his role in the Sharknado film series, and shared how he stays in shape for those films to People. “Leg day is my favorite day,” Ziering said. “You can’t have a thorough leg workout without feeling completely spent. It’s a challenge, but the benefits of maintain muscle mass on my legs is important because, as the biggest muscle group in the body, it also helps me keep the proper body composition in terms of fat to muscle ratio.”

9. Vanessa Marcil

Vanessa Marcil played Gina Kincaid on the final two seasons. She talked about her approach to wellness in the caption of this Instagram post. “Being a workaholic for 24 years, the most important parts of health for ME aren’t working out, or what I eat, or whether I drink water,” she wrote. “But for ME it’s balancing my hormones with an endocrinologist, weekly anger release therapy, sleep, taking risks that scare me, laughter & having balance in my life with no shame allowed.”

10. Gabrielle Carteris

Gabrielle Carteris played Andrea Zuckerman on the show. She was previously the president of SAG-AFTRA. Carteris talked about her desire for more diverse stories in an interview with The Los Angeles Times. “One of my real interests is to work on inclusivity — looking at diversity and gender equity. That for me, being a woman, is really important. With our leadership, our top three officers are women, which is not something you see in unions around the country or in our industry. I think it’s a testament to our members and to our work that we are about inclusion.”

11. Cress Williams

Cress Williams played the recurring role of D’Shawn Hardell from seasons four to five. He also appeared as the lead character in the show Black Lightning, and shared how he got in shape for the role to Men’s Health. “From the moment I turned 39, 40, I really turned a corner and became a person who really enjoys working out. When I don’t get a chance to, I miss it. I also just recognized that it would give me career longevity if I kept myself in the best shape I could possibly be in. I do have my limitations, I have a bad knee and stuff like that. But I do the best I can. So it was already something that was in my routine. And getting ready for the show, I just sort of ramped things up to get more strength. Then my stunt double, who has become a really good friend, he started coming over and helping me with the fight aspects of it.”

So it was eye-opening to me to have the opportunity to think through some things I post online and be like, ‘Wait, how can this affect somebody going through this mental turmoil? How is my presence online interpreted in different ways than I think about?'”

She captioned it, “Yesterday was such a fun shoot, I just had to share these with you 🤍 🛥️But picture number #4?? That photobomb totally got me 😂 Which picture is your favorite ?🌊”

She Swims

As you can see from her post, Zelu likes to swim. The Mayo Clinic states that swimming has a lot of benefits. “Swimming is often touted as a great workout for all ages, offering benefits not only for the body, but also for the mind. As a form of exercise, swimming keeps your heart rate up and builds muscle strength. It also can be a great form of stress relief.”

She Doesn't Compare Herself to Others

Zelu shares a lot of her thoughts on Instagram. In this post, she talked about no longer comparing herself to others. “Dear Diary 💭📝, Today’s contemplation led me to a profound understanding of the detrimental impact comparison has on our lives. It’s like a silent intruder, subtly creeping into our thoughts and poisoning our perception of ourselves and others. It’s a universal struggle, one that weighs heavily on the hearts of many. I’ve come to realize that comparison is the ultimate thief of joy. It robs us of our ability to appreciate our own journey and achievements, as we constantly measure ourselves against an idealized version of others. I’ve resolved to break free from its grasp. We should choose to celebrate our own unique path, recognizing that each step forward is a triumph in itself. Rather than fixating on external benchmarks set by others, I’m focusing on personal growth and development. Whether it’s through learning new skills, cultivating gratitude, or simply practicing self-compassion, every effort counts.”

She Hikes

Zelu is seen on a hike in the previous Instagram post. Harvard Health states that hiking is very beneficial. “Like brisk walking, hiking is a good way to improve your cardiovascular fitness, particularly if your route includes some hills, which will force your heart to work harder. Taking a hike on the slightly uneven surface of a trail also provides a natural way to engage the core muscles in your torso and to hone your balance skills.”

She’s Resilient

Resilience is another important thing to Zelu. She talked about this in the caption of this Instagram post. “Dear Diary 💭📝, I witnessed something truly remarkable that touched my heart deeply. It’s amazing how people can go through the toughest storms in life and yet remain gentle, patient, and kind. I saw someone who faced challenges that would break most people, yet they chose to respond with grace and humility. Their ability to stay calm and compassionate in the face of adversity is nothing short of admirable. It made me realize the beauty of resilience – the strength to keep going even when life throws its hardest punches. These individuals not only endure the storms but also emerge from them with a spirit that shines brighter than before. Their example reminds me of the power of kindness and the importance of staying true to oneself, even in the darkest of times. It’s a reminder that even in the midst of chaos, there is beauty to be found 💕🫶”

She’s Accepted Herself

Zelu talked about the importance of acceptance in this Instagram post’s caption. “Dear Diary 💭📝, Today has been a rollercoaster of emotions, but amidst it all, I feel like I’ve taken a step closer to the right direction. Letting go of the past is like shedding a heavy coat I’ve been carrying for far too long. It’s not easy to release the memories, the pain, the regrets, but today, I made a choice to loosen the grip they had on me. It’s like taking a deep breath after being underwater for too long—refreshing and liberating. Forgiving myself has been a journey filled with tears and moments of self-doubt. But today, I finally understood that I deserve the same forgiveness and understanding I give to others. It’s like giving myself a warm hug, wrapping myself in kindness and acceptance.”
