Candace Cameron Bure is best known for her role as D.J. Tanner in the beloved '90s sitcom Full House and its spinoff Fuller House. Additionally, she has become the unofficial queen of Christmas TV/movies on Hallmark Channel and Great American Family. Candace Cameron Bure, 48, is also a mom of three on top of killing it as an actress—and she's as fit as ever.

So, how does Candace maintain her red-carpet-ready physique with such a jam-packed schedule? Let's take a closer look at what the busy actress eats during a typical day to look and feel her best in front of the cameras.

For Breakfast, She Goes Light

As the actress told EatingWell, she likes to wake up and have a cup of matcha tea first thing in the morning before getting in a workout four to five days per week. Candace has found that intermittent fasting works for her. So typically, she has her first meal late in the morning. An almond milk and whey protein shake post-workout is pretty standard, as the Full House alum told Cosmopolitan.

Lunchtime Focuses on Whole Grains, Lean Protein, and Vegetables

A go-to for Candace for lunch is a bowl featuring whole grains, vegetables, greens, and lean protein. Sources of lean protein for the actress include nuts, seeds, beans, and whole grains like quinoa, she told Cosmopolitan.

Although she's mostly vegetarian, Candace does incorporate animal protein into her diet.

"I'm always looking for good, lean proteins," Candace told Entertainment Tonight. "And here's my secret—it's the Starkist Creation Pouches. They come in tuna, salmon, and chicken, and there's like 25 flavors. I take that pouch, tear, eat, and go."

For Dinner, Her Husband Is Cooking

Candace's husband, retired NHL player Valeri Bure, is not only a pro on the ice but in the kitchen. More often than not he cooks dinner.

"I don't really like to cook if it's more than five ingredients," the Christmas Under Wraps star told PEOPLE. Cameron Bure added, "I've enjoyed cooking but I know that I'm not the best at it. My husband is a much better chef than I am."

Her Snacks Are Also Based on Whole Foods

Although Candace Cameron Bure prefers large meals over a ton of snacking, when she does reach for something to munch on, she sticks to her general eating rule of thumb: nutritious whole foods. As a result, the actress gravitates toward fresh fruit, pistachios, almonds, or veggies when it comes to snacking, she told EatingWell. She also mostly avoids dairy and sweets—however, she does occasionally indulge in ice cream.

She Really Dials in Ahead of a Red Carpet Event

To look and feel her absolute best ahead of a red carpet event, Candace takes a well-rounded approach that hones in more than just what she eats.

"You kind of kick the workouts up a notch," she told Entertainment Tonight. "And it really comes down to eating well, getting enough sleep, and getting enough water."
