Everything You Need To Know About 'White Lotus's Aimee Lou Wood

The White Lotus Season 3: Where do we even begin? There's so much we love about Aimee Lou Wood's character, Chelsea. She's a witty, free-spirited, genuinely kind soul who sees the good in everyone—and she's clearly patient AF with her perpetually crabby, mysterious boyfriend, Rick Hatchett. (You deserve better, Chelsea!) Aimee's character seems to easily fit into every social situation, and, let's face it: We'd want to be her friend if we were in Thailand, even amid this season's ongoing drama and mystique.
Other fun facts about the 31-year-old actress who was born and raised in Manchester? She relates to Chelsea IRL and feels they have much in common; they're both passionate about astrology and romantics at heart, according to TIME. Before starring in HBO Max's The White Lotus, Aimee channeled Aimee Gibbs in Netflix's Sex Education. She also plays a young mom in Toxic Town, which is based on a true story.
Here's everything you need to know about White Lotus's Aimee Lou Wood.
1. She Was a White Lotus Fan Before Being on the Show
It turns out the actress was a major White Lotus fan before being cast in the series.
"I loved the first two, like proper fan, so this was the first time I've ever been something that I've been a fan of beforehand, which is a weird feeling," she shared with Marie Claire UK. "And I always was like, 'I just want to be in it, but I don't know where I fit. I just feel like I don't fit in that world at all,' and then I got my audition [for] Chelsea, and I was like, 'This could actually be it,' and it felt quite cosmic … it did feel, like, quite special."

2. Her Teeth Are Having a Moment
People cannot stop talking about Aimee's iconic teeth.
"I can't believe the impact my teeth are having," Aimee said on The Jonathan Ross Show. "Because the Americans can't believe [it], but they're all being lovely … these videos just come up on my Instagram of, like, these orthodontists analyzing my teeth … they dissect my teeth … but then at the end go, 'But we don't think she should change a thing'"—and neither do we, Aimee!
The actress also told The Hollywood Reporter that not having veneers makes her feel "rebellious." She said, "All I ever do is take the piss out of myself. Even the way [White Lotus fans] are talking about me and my teeth—that I don't have veneers or Botox—it feels a bit rebellious."

3. She's a Role Model
Why is Aimee Lou Wood a role model? Well, for one, her teeth!
She previously told Stylist, "Then Sex Education came along and I was like, 'Well, what have I seen on Netflix? Everyone has perfect Hollywood teeth.' And now, of course, I'm getting hundreds of messages from people going, 'Oh my god, you've got teeth like mine. Now I go to school and people think I'm cool because I look like Aimee.' Instead of it being 'Bugs Bunny' or whatever. Because that's what happened to me."
4. She Loves Stand-Up Comedy
It's no wonder the actress is naturally witty. She enjoys stand-up comedy. In fact, Aimee won an award for Best Female Comedy Performance at the 2021 BAFTAs (British Academy Television Award) for her role in Sex Education.
5. She's "Very Independent"
Aimee considers herself to be a "very independent" individual, which is something she struggles with in relationships.
"I find it hard when I'm in relationships to maintain my sense of who I am. I'm very independent, but I'm also quite impressionable," she told Grazia. "I can be taken away from myself quite easily, I kind of start betraying myself and compromising my integrity, to keep someone else happy. That's why it's really important for me to have time alone.'"
