Indian actress Yami Gautam, known for her radiant presence on-screen, is embracing a balanced approach to wellness postpartum. Recently spotted in her workout gear, Yami shared her intention to get back into shape, combining her love for nutritious foods, hydration, and versatile exercise routines. From sipping turmeric water in the morning to diving into high-intensity AquaFit, her journey reflects a commitment to health that’s rooted in both simplicity and variety.

1. Hydration

In a video shared by Tweak India on YouTube, Yami revealed she starts the day by drinking water. “There’s a water bottle lying next to my bed. I drink just normal water,” she said. “After breakfast, I like to have a glass of warm turmeric water. Warm your water and add a pinch of turmeric powder to it. I don’t add honey or lemon to it,” she said.

2. Healthy Breakfast

For breakfast, Yami fuels up with a protein-packed south-Indian cuisine. “Idli and coconut chutney is my favourite. Otherwise, a half-boiled egg with avocado toast or a simple hard toast is also good.” According to clinical trials, consuming more protein than the recommended dietary allowance not only reduces body weight (BW), but also enhances body composition by decreasing fat mass while preserving fat-free mass (FFM) in both low-calorie and standard-calorie diets.

3. She Gets Her Rest

Beautiful,Woman,Sleeping,In,The,Bedroom.,Lady,Lying,Face,DownShutterstock

Yami understands the importance of sleep. She usually she wakes up by 6:30 am. “The last film that I shot was all about nights. The only option was to sleep by 8:30 or 9 in the morning. But, that sleep used to be of only three hours or so. But, otherwise, I am a morning person and I enjoy mornings. I am not a big fan of night shoots. Even when I am on a holiday or back home, I wake up early because I really love that morning chai session with my family,” she said.

4. Healthy Diet

"I stick to a healthy diet throughout the day, and as far as possible, eat home-cooked meals. When I feel hungry in between meals, I snack only on nuts or fruits. I generally eat a handful of almonds—they’re a mix of omega-3 fatty acids, protein and fibre, and keep hunger pangs at bay. Or, I eat fruits like melons, apples or berries. I prefer whole fruits over juices, as an actual fruit has more nutritional value,” she told Cosmopolitan.

5. Exercise

Yami Gauta.5Yami Gauta/Instagram

“Staying fit is a pre-requisite of my job... I exercise daily, and alternate between yoga, cardio, and swimming—it challenges my body and keep things interesting. I was recently introduced to the AquaFit training programme through Speedo. What I love about this particular workout is that it’s not just about swimming laps in the pool, it also involves dumb-bell movements such as tricep dips with forward kicks, and power-paddle movements like chest-presses and bicep-curls. This high-intensity workout helps me lose a lot of calories in no time, and I don’t have to worry about muscle soreness!” she told Cosmopolitan about her approach to exercise.

Preity Zinta is doing sit ups – in her two–piece workout gear. In a new social media post the Indian actress and entrepreneur, 49, flaunts her amazing figure during a sweat session. “It doesn’t matter if you are on holiday or at work, you have to make yourself better, stronger and healthier cuz if it doesn’t challenge you it doesn’t change you 👊 So don’t give up, be consistent & push your self. There is no better love than self love ❤️ A very Happy & Healthy 2025 to all of you,” she captioned the Instagram video with her followers. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Healthy Diet

Preity stresses the importance of a healthy diet. “It doesn't matter how much U exercise if U cannot control ur diet. Losing weight is 70% diet & 30% exercise,” she once wrote on X. “Eat smaller portions of food and at least six to seven small meals,” she added in another, per India Today. “Avoid too much starch and carbohydrates like white bread, pasta and rice. Go for whole wheat or whole grains and brown bread.” Also, it’s how you eat that matters. “Eat slowly and chew a lot. Also sit down and enjoy your meal. Eating fast means eating a lot with very little satisfaction.”

Drinking Lots of Water

Hydration is a big part of overall health, says Preity. “Drink lots of water,” she wrote on Twitter. “Drink at least two glasses of water when you wake up.” Fruit juice is not part of her hydration strategy. “Fruit juices have too much sugar in them. Too much sugar and salt are terrible for you,” she said. The Mayo Clinic explains that hydration helps get rid of waste through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements, keeps your temperature normal, lubricates and cushions joints, and helps protect sensitive tissues.

Cheat Days for Diet Maintenance

Preity is an advocate of cheat days, claiming that they help her stay on track the rest of the time. “Eat whatever you want in one day so it's ur cheat day. This helps you to maintain your diet for the week,” she said on Twitter.

Pilates

Preity is also a fan of Pilates, which “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility resulting in improved overall health,” per Mayo Clinic. It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, relief from stress and back pain, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Dance Cardio

Preity is a fan of dancing. “Try dancing to your favorite song five times in a row...If you can bounce up and down five times in a row your cardio for the day is done,” she suggests. Dancing helps build strength and promote flexibility, and also may aid in weight loss and promote cardiovascular function. A 2016 study published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine determined that people who engaged in moderate-intensity dancing were 46 percent less likely to develop heart disease or die from it than non-dancers. In comparison, moderate-intensity walkers were just 25 percent less likely to suffer heart health issues.

Exercising in the Morning

Preity does fasted workouts. “Try exercising in the morning on an empty stomach. If you cannot do any exercise then at least go for a walk. Brisk walk is amazing for you,” she suggested. Science agrees. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day led to a reduced risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty is starting the new year with yoga and positivity. Shetty, 48, shared a video of herself wearing a pink and purple yoga outfit, posing on a teal blue mat. “I’m starting 2024 on a ‘balanced’ note with the Ashwa Sanchalana Salamba Utthita Eka Padasana, which is a great balancing asana🧘🏻‍♀️ It helps improve focus & concentration, and also enhances the coordination between mind & body. It also improves the back’s and the hamstring’s flexibility. Please note: People suffering from back pain or slip-disc and pregnant women must avoid this asana. Wishing you all a Happy, Prosperous, and Healthy New Year... My resolution for 2024 is to LIVE IN THE ‘NOW’ with awareness, balance, and gratitude,” she captioned the post. Here’s how Shetty takes care of herself, inside and out.

1. Sharing Her Ab Workouts

Shetty frequently shares her workouts on social media, including her intense ab exercise routine. “Recipe for washboard ABS: Planks, Planks, & More Planks💪,” she captioned an Instagram video. “This workout trains the entire body, primarily driven by the core muscles. Stimulate all your muscles by performing these 3 exercises for 3 sets and 15-20 reps.

1) Extended Arm Plank: Hip Extensions

2) Side Elbow Plank: Hip Dips

3) Elbow Plank: Hip Abduction and Adduction

It strengthens the core, arms, legs, shoulders, & back muscles; and builds muscular endurance.

Can be done at home with just a mat on days you are running short of time, but want to move that body as it takes only 20 mins. Caution: Do not try this if you are a beginner.”

2. Yoga and Meditation

Shetty is a long time devotee of yoga and meditation. “Asanas like Setu Bandhasana strengthen the Vishuddhi chakra (Throat chakra) that helps one voice their opinions & thoughts, and gives clarity of communication,” she captioned an Instagram video of herself doing yoga poses on a mat. “The Ardha Halasana and Navasana help strengthen the Manipuraka chakra (or Solar Plexus chakra), which determines one’s self-confidence and the ability to take action. Eat clean, lead a healthy lifestyle, and make yoga-meditation an integral part of your daily routine. Your mind and body will thank you ♥️🙏.”

3. Fitness Is Her Target

Shetty says her entire workout regimen is about health, not the “perfect” body. “I’ve never given a good figure too much importance,” she tells Complete Wellbeing. “Fitness was more my target. I went to the gym not to look good but to feel good and be fit. I worked out and I wanted to maintain a healthy body. Like Bhagavan says, [Bhagavan is the founder of the Oneness University] if you want to be successful, if you want to achieve something in life, you need to be fit. If your immunity is low, it’s not going to allow you to work as hard as you would otherwise have. It stems from this understanding.”

4. Healthy Diet With a Cheat Day

Aloe,Vera,On,Wooden,TableShutterstock

Shetty enjoys a healthy diet with one day a week for any indulgences. “I am a foodie. I love food, but I eat the right food,” she tells Complete Wellbeing. “I have a healthy diet. I keep one day in the week when I eat anything like cakes, kulfi, and gulab jamuns. My day starts with aloe vera juice. It is great for your immune system; it’s great for your skin. Then I have porridge and tea. I avoid white sugar as far as I can and have only brown sugar. My theory is to replace everything white with brown — be it brown bread, brown rice, or brown sugar. I don’t eat steamed or boiled food. I eat normal food but cooked in a healthy vegetable oil or olive oil. For lunch, I have dal rice [brown] or chapati and chicken curry and one vegetable. If I am hungry in the evening, I’ll have one brown toast with two eggs and tea and, at night, I try and eat early. I eat a salad, soup and one chicken dish. My diet is very simple. It’s easy to follow.”

5. Fitness Challenge

Shetty loves challenging herself and posting the results online. “Failure is a stepping stone to success. Keep trying, push yourself, but never give up,” she captioned a humorous Instagram video. “Today, I took up the #StandUpChallenge! It tests one’s mobility, which is the ability to move your entire body freely and normally. It encompasses muscle strength, range of motion, and endurance capacity helping you with great mobility. It took me a couple of tries (as you can see😋) but, I believe failure is funnier than success.”

Bollywood superstar Preity Zinta is giving fans a glimpse at her workout routine. Zinta, 49, shared a video of herself wearing black leggings and a purple shirt, using a reformer machine. “Getting back my groove, balance and flexibility with an amazing class of Hot Pilates. I love to try different things to stay fit but pilates is always my favourite. Thank you so much @shannonnadj for pushing me & inspiring me to work out, specially after the jet lag and stiffness🙏 I was having a tough time when we started but I ended the class feeling strong and energetic. Here’s to loving yourself and taking care of your body ❤️ If any of you are struggling to get started, start now as it’s never too late,” she captioned the post. Here’s how the actress and entrepreneur is living her best life.

Fitness Mantra

Zinta mixes it up with indoor and outdoor workouts. “I love doing yoga, weight training, pilates and sports training,” she told Indulgexpress. “My fitness mantra is straightforward. Eat healthy and clean food. Eat everything, but portion control is very important, and never starve or go on crash diets. Where working out is concerned, it’s essential to stretch before and after a workout, it’s also important to drink lots of water, stay hydrated, and be consistent with your workouts. So, don’t work out one day for two hours and then not work out the whole week. It’s better to work out for 40 minutes a day, but at least work out five times a week.”

Style Philosophy

Zinta loves to express herself through fashion. “My style philosophy is to keep it simple and stay true to who I am. Your best accessory should be your positive attitude, your confidence, and your smile,” she told Indulgexpress. “Besides that, the way a garment is cut is very important to me. I like the sophistication and structure of my clothes. My mood, how I feel, and the occasion or event I have to go to, often dictate what I wear. One should wear clothes and not the other way round.

Beauty Tips

Pretty Zinta shares a photo of Dahipur

Zinta focuses on a simple, sensible approach to health and beauty. “This whole thing of ‘don’t eat,’ it’s not fitness,” she told Vogue. “Portion control is very important, there is nothing more anti-ageing and healthy than working out and oh, sleep is very important.”

Indian and Western Movies

Zinta enjoys the cultural differences from making both Indian and European/American movies. “I think the thing that differentiates us the most is music in our films,” she told L'Officiel Monaco. “Music has always been a strong part of our culture and how we express ourselves. Besides that our stories mostly revolve around family, love and social issues. We don’t have too many science fiction films as compared to the West. Some of our films are very larger-than-life, escapist, and tailored for an audience that wants to go to a theatre to forget their life and situation and just be entertained. They want to see a larger than life world, full of hero’s and infinite possibilities far away from reality.”

The Next Step

Zinta is looking forward to exciting new projects in the near future. “I want to do roles that excite me, that are thought provoking & can be a beacon of hope to people today,” she told L'Officiel Monaco. “I would also love to do a lot more of comedy, Action, and whatever moves me when I read the script.”

Malaika Arora, a successful actress and fitness enthusiast, recently shared a video on Instagram of her practicing yoga on her porch, dressed in a sleek black top and shorts. Captioning the post, “Oh hello September ☀️… August u were lovely n demure 😉,” Arora welcomed the new month with grace and flexibility. Known for her dedication to health and wellness, Arora regularly incorporates various fitness routines into her lifestyle. Here’s a look at how she maintains her mind, body, and soul through yoga, swimming, and more.

1. She Does Yoga

As you can see from her post, Arora likes to practice yoga. Harvard Health states that yoga has a lot of health benefits. “Yoga is known for its ability to soothe tension and anxiety in the mind and body. But it can also have an impact on a person's exercise capacity. Researchers studied a small group of sedentary individuals who had not practiced yoga before. After eight weeks of practicing yoga at least twice a week for a total of 180 minutes, participants had greater muscle strength and endurance, flexibility, and cardio-respiratory fitness.”

2. She Swims

Arora spends a lot of time outside. One thing she likes to do to stay fit is swim. In this highlight reel from a trip she took to the Maldives, Arora is seen in a pool and in the ocean. She captioned the post, “Paradise.” Also, in this set of photos she posted, Arora is again seen in the water. She captioned that post, “Salty ‘n blue.”

3. She Values Fitness

Malaika AroraMalaika Arora/Instagram

Arora shared some of her wellness secrets with GQ. She says that fitness is very important to her. “I think not just as an actor but also as a person, fitness is a very integral part of who I am. It helps me tackle daily challenges and also keeps me healthy — mind, body and soul. It is a way of life for me!”

4. She Intermittent Fasts

Arora talked about her diet secrets in her GQ interview. She says that she likes to intermittently fast. “I’ve always been somebody who’s very particular about what I eat and when I eat it. But, over a year ago, I was introduced to intermittent fasting. And, now, I swear by it. I think the combination of doing Yoga and following an intermittent fasting routine, daily, has just completely changed my way of thinking towards eating, food, et cetera.”

5. She Works Her Abs

Arora shares a lot of workouts on Instagram. In this video, she is seen doing some core workouts. The Mayo Clinic states that core workouts are extremely beneficial. “Core exercises train the muscles in your core to work in harmony. This leads to better balance and steadiness, also called stability. Stability is important whether you're on the playing field or doing regular activities. In fact, most sports and other physical activities depend on stable core muscles.”

Leonie Hanne is living her best life in Thailand – in her swimsuit. In a new social media post, the German model flaunts her fantastic figure in a $750 Missoni bathing suit while enjoying a boating day in the tropics. “She dreamed of a tropical adventure 🦋,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. “Stunning,” commented one of her followers. ”So beautiful,” added another. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Coffee

Leonie enjoys the perks of caffeine. In one of her posts from Thailand, she drinks a cup of coffee at the poolside. According to the Cleveland Clinic, drinking coffee in moderation has several benefits. “It acts on your brain to improve memory, mood, reaction times, and mental function,” they say, citing a study finding that caffeine can improve endurance and performance during exercise. It is also antioxidant-rich, can ward off diabetes, prevent neurologic disease, lower cancer risk, and ward off depression, they point out.

Pilates

Leonie does Pilates at the super exclusive London studio Pilates in the Clouds. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress, and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

At-Home Workouts

Leonie tries to get a workout in daily, preferably in the morning. I still try to get up early to maintain a sense of routine. I start every day with a quick at-home workout and a homemade acai bowl, before starting work on emails and content creation. I’ve been getting really into TikTok lately, it’s funny and keeps me feeling energised!” she told Arcadia.

Community

It takes a village, according to Leonie. “Community is key! The people you surround yourself with are more important than ever, as we are all trying to find ways to stay connected without being physically present. Speaking to people either on the phone or through social media can shift your mindset and motivation more than ever before,” she says.

Small, Healthy Habits

Leonie focuses on maintaining small, healthy habits. “Do something every day that brings you joy. Even if that means having something small to look forward to, like having your favourite snacks around the house or changing into an outfit that makes you feel good about yourself,” she says.

How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

She Doesn't Go Under the Knife

Sophie claims she hasn’t gone under the knife. “It’s your own body, you can do what you want to,” she told Grazia, weighing in on the show’s reputation for girls getting work done. “I wouldn’t have surgery myself; I don’t want it. I’ve got such a low pain tolerance as well; I’d be squirming around.”

She Gets Her Steps In

Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Sophie loves paddle boarding. The American Council on Exercise (ACE) agrees that paddle boarding is great for the core and cardio. Water sports can burn an average of 385 calories for a 140-pound male and 436 calories for a female of the same size, per a study conducted by Arizona State University.

She Skis

When Sophie hits the mountains, she throws on a pair of skis. “Ski club,” she captioned a photo. Research has linked downhill skiing to several health benefits. In addition to promoting physical fitness, it may decrease the risk of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Studies have also found that the more frequently a person skis, the prevalence of known hypercholesterolemia, systemic hypertension, diabetes, the frequency of mental stress, and the occurrence of memory deficits decline.

She Loves Group Fitness

“You’ve got to be body confident,” Sophie told Grazia. One of her favorite sweat methods? Group fitness. “A few gym classes can’t hurt,” she said.

She Goes Snorkeling

On her recent Maldives vacation, Sophie and Josh snorkeled in the crystal clear water. Surprisingly, putting on a snorkel and fins and swimming through the water is a great workout. In addition to being a great aerobic exercise and burning calories, other health benefits may include improved cardiovascular function, stress reduction, mood enhancement, and muscular toning.

Tammy Hembrow is a fitness influencer and expert. She has her own app, called Tammy Fit. Hembrow has a lot of challenges on her app. Recently, she advertised a challenge with a workout video on Instagram. Hembrow captioned the post, “We are 3 days into our first @tammyfitapp challenge of the year & I am more motivated than everrrrr. (Sign ups are still open if you haven’t joined yet - there’s still time to catch up!! - link in bio). Soooo happy seeing so many of my girlies (and guys) in this challenge doing it with me!! And I CANNOT wait to see everyone’s results at the end of the 8 weeks. We got thissss 💪🏼”

She Does Pulldowns

Hembrow is seen doing pulldowns in her Instagram video. Piedmont reports that pulldowns have a lot of benefits. “The lat pulldown is a fantastic exercise for strengthening the latissimus dorsi muscle, the broadest muscle in your back. This muscle promotes good posture and spinal stability. Form is crucial when performing a lat pulldown to prevent injury and reap the best results.”

She Lifts Weights

Tammy Hebrew is seen using dumbbells.

Tammy Hebrew/Instagram

Hembrow is seen doing a lot of exercises with weights in her Instagram video. ACE Fitness states that using weights to workout has a lot of benefits. “Strength training with heavy weights improves muscle definition. Muscle definition occurs as the result of muscles remaining in a state of semi-contraction and heavy strength training recruits the larger type II muscle fibers responsible for a muscle’s appearance.”

She Tracks Her Meals

Hembrow likes to track her meals on her app. She talked about the benefits of this in the caption of this “What I Eat In A Day” Instagram video. “Make sure to take advantage of the calorie/macro tracking features in the @tammyfitapp during this challenge guys. It can be really helpful in reaching specific goals quicker. And it also can help educate you on your food choices when it comes to nutrition, ratios, hidden calories, overeating or under eating etc. honestly I’d recommend any beginner try it out just to get a good feel for how you’re fuelling your body!! I feel like when people think of ‘meal tracking’ it can be seen as something that seems restrictive or something only bodybuilders do. When in reality it can be such a helpful tool and you can learn things that will actually encourage long term habits 🫶🏼🫶🏼”

She Loves Bananas

Tammy Hebrew has a banana snack.

Hembrow is seen enjoying bananas in her “What I Eat In A Day” Instagram video. The Cleveland Clinic states that bananas have a lot of benefits. “A single medium-sized banana offers about 32 mg of the mineral magnesium, which fulfills around 8% to 10% of your daily magnesium requirement. Magnesium is involved in many processes in your body, including: Blood pressure. Blood sugar levels. Building proteins. Maintaining bone. Muscle function. Nerve function.”

She Loves Cottage Cheese

Hembrow is seen enjoying her bananas with cottage cheese in the previous Instagram video. Cottage cheese is very healthy.
