Briohny Smyth is sharing a motivational message with her followers. In a new social media post the yoga influencer shows off her amazing body in workout gear while inspiring her followers. “If you’re facing rejection, know this: it doesn’t define you. It can teach you, redirect you, and push you toward what’s truly meant for you. I’ve felt the sting of rejection—the kind that’s sharp, personal, and leaves you questioning everything. But sometimes, rejection is what we need to grow,” she says, going on to encourage her followers to “trust the redirection.” How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.
Yoga
Smyth explains that yoga “is a spiritual practice,” in addition to a workout. “The physical practice comes when time allows it. After everyone goes to sleep, my husband, Dice, pulls out his yoga mat and does yoga for about two hours and sometimes we end up doing handstands together. I also find time to stretch every day,” she told Daily Burn.
She Loves Inversions
What is her favorite pose? “Inversions are my favorite, because turning yourself upside down gives you a moment to reflect. It takes all of your focus. Very rarely am I upside down thinking, ‘Hmm, my problems in life…’ An inversion is a full-body engager; therefore, it’s a full-mind engager,” she told Yoga Journal.
Mantras
Smyth has mantras and words of wisdom that she lives by. “Pain that has not yet come is avoidable,” she writes. “It’s also a sutra, roughly translated. What I mean by that is not that you don’t want to experience pain, but that you can learn from your experiences and not experience the same pain again,” she told Yoga Journal.
No Diets
Shutterstock“I’m careful not to diet because that kind of throws me back into the negative thinking that I used to have. But as a family, we do watch what we eat. We try to avoid dairy and wheat — mainly because of allergies in our family, and my daughter and husband being gluten intolerant, so I do it out of support for them. For me, I find it’s a great way to feel just a little more energetic since you’re not weighing yourself down with as many heavier foods,” says Smyth.
Sleep
Sleep is also important, according to Smyth. What are the health benefits of sleep? According to the Sleep Foundation, getting enough z’s is a mood booster, promotes heart health, regulates blood sugar, improves mental function, restores your immune system, helps relieve stress, and aids in weight loss.
