Zoe shared her family's favorite panini recipes in her Bon Appétit interview.

"My husband just loves cured meats," she told the outlet. "So I'll get bresaola and another thick salami from a local farm, or really good organic turkey breast. And cheeses. I'm 80 percent gluten-free, and so is my family, so I get different types of bread and arrange everything on the table like a beautiful feast. I get the panini makers out and everyone makes their own sandwiches."

"I feel like a home-cooked meal is better than anything in the world," the actress revealed. "The older I get, the more I enjoy the company—the bonding, the interacting with people. I'm not known for the meats that I cook. I get pretty creative with eggs. Sometimes I'll make panini, and I'll buy a whole bunch of awesome cold cuts."

She Eats Gluten-Free Foods

Zoe's family typically eats a gluten-free diet. She shared some of her favorite foods with Bon Appétit.

"[My husband] Marco is Italian, and there are certain things about his culture that he doesn't want to part with, like the pasta and the breaded meats," Zoe said. "So it's like, 'How do I keep a gluten-free family happy?' There's a lot of improvisation—I'm learning how to make the most amazing dough made out of cauliflower or quinoa flour."

Zoe eats a lot of vegetables. In fact, she loves making pizzas for her family with them.

"We buy a whole bunch of toppings like burrata, buffalo mozzarella, little cherry tomatoes, arugula, and also vegan cheeses for anyone who doesn't want to have dairy. We'll grill mushrooms and onions and make our own sauce. And we'll do all the crust gluten-free. That's how we discovered cauliflower dough—it was amazing."
