5 Surprising Ways Sara Croce Stays Strong and Sculpted

Check out how Croce stays in shape with boxing, swimming, horseback riding, and skiing!

5 Surprising Ways Sara Croce Stays Strong and Sculpted
Sara Croce / Instagram

Sara Croce isnā€™t just about looking fitā€”she stays active with a mix of dynamic workouts that keep her body strong and her mind sharp. From throwing punches in the boxing ring to gliding down snowy slopes, the Italian model embraces movement in all forms. Whether sheā€™s swimming, horseback riding, or crushing a shoulder workout, she proves that fitness can be both powerful and elegant. If youā€™re looking for inspiration to switch up your routine, Saraā€™s approach to staying in shape might be just the motivation you need.

She Boxes

As you can see from her Instagram video, Croce likes to box to keep herself in shape. Harvard Health states that boxing has a lot of health benefits. ā€œThere's no proof that fitness boxing is superior to any other types of exercise, but it does have many health benefits. One is strength. ā€˜You're swinging your arms, moving the muscles of your arms and shoulders, increasing your upper-body strength. And when you're in the boxer crouch with a wide stance, with your knees slightly bent, you're strengthening your core muscles, back, and legs,ā€™ says physical therapist Linda Arslanian, director of rehabilitation services at Harvard-affiliated Brigham and Women's hospital. Stronger muscles make it easier to get up out of a chair or carry a bag of groceries.ā€

She Does Shoulder Workouts

Croce shared this video on Instagram of herself doing different shoulder exercises with weights. She captioned it, ā€œToday's SHOULDERS circuit šŸ”„šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡øFor me, the improvement has been radical since I gave as much importance to training the upper part as to training the lower partšŸ’ŖšŸ» Obviously Iā€™m always followed even from afar by a professional #shoulderday šŸ¤ā€

She Swims

Croce likes to swim to keep herself in shape. She shares a lot of posts on Instagram of herself in the water. Croce included a photo of herself in an infinity pool in this post. She also shared this photo of herself in a pool in West Hollywood. Croce captioned it, ā€œGratitude is the best attitude.ā€

She Rides Horses

Croce likes to go horseback riding to keep herself in shape. She shared a photo of herself on a horse in one of the previous Instagram links. Croce also shared this video of herself going for a ride on the beach. She captioned it, ā€œFlying? There were times I believed I could.ā€

She Skis

Croce shared this set of photos and a video on Instagram of herself skiing. The Hill News states that skiing has a lot of benefits. ā€œWhen skiing down the slopes, chemical reactions occur within our bodies to produce positive feelings. Specifically, it lowers levels of stress hormones and releases your bodyā€™s natural painkillers. Not only do we soak in vitamin D, but we also produce endorphins and adrenaline. It is simply a liberating experience for your mind but also your body. Skiing is also a great source of exercise and exercise that you can actually enjoy doing. Within just three hours of skiing, your body can burn up to 975 calories. While this is happening, metabolic and cardiorespiratory health also improves.ā€

1. She Treats Her PCOS

Sara, who suffered from PCOS, found it difficult to lose weight for many years. ā€œIt is one of the things that I struggle with to date because the only real cure is a constant, consistent, focused and determined lifestyle change. There is no shortcut to it,ā€ she said in an interview, per Her Zindagi. ā€œFor me, the most functional way to deal with PCOS is to eat healthy, sleep in a regimented way- try to regularize your body clock and to get in a certain about of work out every day if you can so that your hormone levels remain stable.ā€ She explained to the Hindustan Times that one day she made a commitment to fitness. ā€œI remember saying ā€˜you know what I am going to do itā€™ and I went to the gym and did 3 crunches with a weighted ball in my hand and I couldnā€™t do more because I was heavy and I was not fit. I left the gym and came home and said that ā€˜you know what, I donā€™t know if I can do this. Maybe I canā€™t',ā€ she said. ā€œI woke up the next day and went back to the gym and did 4 crunches, and then I did 5 and then I did 6 and I really donā€™t need to boast but I am down for a crunch challenge right now. I did a lot of abs this morning.ā€

2. She Started with ā€œCardio Heavyā€ Workouts

Sara started with a lot of cardio. ā€œI simply started eating healthy and began working out when in New York. There were so many different types of classes in that city, from functional training to boxing to cycling. But because I was so overweight at the start, my routine was more about cardio-heavy workouts like walking, cycling and hitting the treadmillā€”so that I could lose the weight before entering the intermediate forms of exercise,ā€ she told Vogue India.

3. She Attributes Her Strong Core to Pilates

ā€œPilates is definitely the backbone of my fitness. It strengthens body balance and works on your core, which is the powerhouse of your entire body. Doing Pilates has enabled me to gain strength that's not only helpful in looking good but also in boosting physical stamina," she added to Vogue.

4. She Mixes Up Her Workouts

When it comes to her exercise method, Sara likes to mix it up. ā€œIt's pretty eclectic; it's a combination of functional training, Pilates, boxing and cardio. I like to change things up, but ensure that I work out for an hour and a half every single dayā€”except on Sunday, because that's my day to chill. It really depends. If I've had a hard week [physically], then a Vinyasa yoga or Pilates class is a great workout. But if it's been a stressful and emotionally taxing week, there's nothing better than a 45-minute session of boxing to get the adrenalin pumping in my body,ā€ she told Vogue.

5. These Are Her Pick-Me-Ups

Coffee,Cup,And,Coffee,Beans,On,TableShutterstock

If Sara needs a morning jolt, she has two go-to remedies. ā€œIf it's a taxing morning and I don't have the energy I need, then I take a multivitamin and a black coffee,ā€ she told Vogue.

6. She Works Out Six Days a Week

Sara is committed to fitness, making exercise a daily duty. ā€œI like to change things up, but ensure that I work out for an hour and a half every single dayā€”except on Sunday because that's my day to chill,ā€ she said, per Vogue.

1. She Works With A Trainer

Cuoco works with trainer, Ryan Sorensen to stay healthy. Sorensen broke down the workouts he does with her with Shape Magazine. ā€œWe have really ramped up her training,ā€ he said. ā€œBasically, she takes one day off a week and trains six days a week. My job is to always be in communication with her, keep her motivated with result-driven targets, and always listen to her body to make sure we are doing what her body can handle at any given point."

2. She Does A Variety Of Workouts

Sorensen tells Shape Magazine that Cuoco likes to do a variety of things to stay in shape. "Her training regimen consisted of high-intensity circuit full-body training, like cardio, strength training, and lots of core twice a week," he says. "Hot yoga once a week, and a couple of days a week she would ride (cycling), which is a beast of a workout."

3. She Climbs Stairs

Sorensen tells Shape Magazine that he has Cuoco do a lot of stair workouts. ā€œWe do different movements, like skip a stair, every stair, lateral stair climb, [and] plyo movements five to six times, then we hike back. All in all, it's about an hour workout.ā€ ACEFitness.org states that stair workouts have a lot of benefits. ā€œMetabolic syndrome is a cluster of conditions ā€” including high blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol levels ā€” that increases your risk for heart disease, stroke, and diabetes, per Mayo Clinic. It's important for your overall health to reduce your risk. Some data suggest that using stairs in your everyday life, such as by walking up a flight or two instead of taking the elevator, is a burst of intense exercise that may stave off metabolic disease.ā€

4. She Uses A Treadmill

One thing Cuoco does to stay in shape is run on a treadmill. She did a lot of these workouts after having her daughter. ā€œPutting that incline up is so good for your muscles, and for your circulation,ā€ Cuoco tells TODAY.com. ā€œIā€™ll also walk backward, which is amazing for your butt and legs. It pretty much works everything.ā€ HealthyTalbot.org states that using a treadmill has a lot of benefits. ā€œTreadmill working is an aerobic/ cardio exercise. Studies demonstrate that aerobic exercise can minimize the risk of heart diseases. Moreover, they can strengthen your heart muscles. This helps to lower blood pressure and allows the heart to pump blood more efficiently. Most doctors recommend aerobic exercise to people suffering from cardiovascular diseases.ā€

5. She Does Yoga

The American College of Physicians recommends yoga as a first-line treatment for chronic low back pain.ā€

6. She Has Scheduled Cheat Days

Hello,Sunday,Typography,Flat,Style,DesignShutterstock

Cuoco talked about her diet in her interview with Shape. She says that she makes sure to eat healthy, but doesnā€™t want to completely cut things out. For this reason, Cuoco says that she has scheduled cheat days. ā€œI know when Iā€™m being good all week long that come Sunday, Iā€™m going to lie by the pool, have a drink, and eat some pizza. Then I wake up on Monday morning and Iā€™m all ready to start the week again. Iā€™m just going to be in a bad mood all the time if thereā€™s no light at the end of the tunnel.ā€

7. She Stays Motivated

Cuoco makes sure to stay motivated to workout. She shared how she stays motivated to TODAY.com. ā€œI remind myself that itā€™s just an hour of my day, and like eating, itā€™s important for my body and my heart,ā€ Cuoco explains. ā€œAnd you never leave a workout and go, ā€˜I wish I didnā€™t do that.ā€™ Even if it wasnā€™t the workout you envisioned, even if it it was a little bit more low-key. Getting a good sweat sets the whole tone for the day.ā€

1. She Refuses to Starve Herself

Rita once explained to Shape that she fuels her body for fitness. ā€œI used to be like, 'I'm not eating!' Eating isn't the problem, though. It's about what your body needs, and everyone's body is different,ā€ she explained, adding that itā€™s all about making good choices. "I've been the girl on tour who eats when she can and goes along when the band wants to go out all the time. But you just can't keep that up. With the plan I'm on, you can eat quite a bit as long as you exercise." Rita focuses on consuming protein, veggies and healthy snacks, while avoiding bread and sugar.

2. She Cuts Her Portions in Half

The 2021 Met Gala Celebrating In America: A Lexicon Of Fashion - ArrivalsMike Coppola/Getty Images

"I watch what I eat but I just cut my portions in half. So if I want a burger I'll just cut it in half and eat half of it. That or I'll take the bread off and only eat the burger. Or if I want fries then I won't have a burger to go with them,ā€ she told Cosmopolitan UK about her eating trick.

3. She Doesnā€™t Do a Ton of Cardio

2021 MTV Video Music Awards - ArrivalsJason Kempin/Getty Images

"I do toning exercises, pilates, yoga or a hike. If I run, I only run for about 10-15 minutes, if that,ā€ she told Cosmo about how she sprinkles cardio into her workouts. ā€œI'm really focused on being healthy rather than anything else."

4. She Works Out Long and Hard

Warner Bros. Premiere Of "The Suicide Squad" - ArrivalsAxelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic

Rita doesnā€™t rush her workouts, training long and hard with circuit training sessions. "I usually work out for one or two hours, depending on how much time I have. I do three circuits and repeat that three times," she said. "I mostly focus on my thighs and my bum, so I do a lot of squats and weight lifting. And I do one circuit of cardio. What I've learned is that you can take your time with training. You don't have to beat yourself up as long as you get in the workouts that you need. I used to push myself until I felt sick. But I'm approaching it differently now. I enjoy working out. And I like the aftermathā€”that feeling of contentment."

5. She Has Fitness Role Models

Rita Ora Hosts 26th Annual LA Art Show Opening Night GalaKevin Winter/Getty Images

When Rita needs a little push, she relies on a few celebrity role models. "Sometimes it's hard,ā€ she told Shape magazine when asked about her motivation to exercise. ā€œI don't just wake up and run to the gym. When I need to motivate myself to work out, I look at pictures of women like Jennifer Lopez and Kate Beckinsale. They look incredible! If they can look like that, I have no excuse.ā€

6. She Focuses on Building Strength

Rita explained to Shape that strong -- not skinny -- is her goal. "I'm not going to lie and say I was completely happy with my body before. I knew I could change a few things to improve my stamina, especially onstage. I didn't start working out to get skinnierā€”I started working out to feel better. And I think it's important for women to know that. Don't be obsessed with being thin. You just have to be fit, healthy, and strong," she said. "I love my shape because it's curvy. I have thighs. I'm a size 28 in jeans. And that's an average, normal size. I'm proud that I'm normal."

7. She Tries New Workouts

Rita is always down to try a new workout. ā€œI've started this thing called Barrecore,ā€ she told Harperā€™s Bazaar a few years back. ā€œI'm not a massive cardio fan, not that anyone really is, but this pulses your body to the music. Itā€™s shakyā€”you almost feel like Bambi, but itā€™s really good for you. It's like ballet mixed with pulsing yoga??ā€

8. She Maintains a Little Zen

In a 2020 Instagram Story, Rita revealed how she cools down post-workout. ā€œOne of the most important parts of my day. Meditating after working out, be calm, feel your breathing,ā€ she captioned a series of clips of her practice.

I focus on one or two muscle groups at a time and make sure to alternate them so they have time to recover throughout the week,ā€ she says. ā€œI lift for about an hour.ā€ According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Antje gets a lot of use out of the treadmill. ā€œBefore I lift I warm up by walking at an incline for 5-10 minutes,ā€ she says. ā€œAnd I always end my workout with running in intervals for 5-10 minutes.ā€ Walking on an incline burns more calories than walking fast or even running on a flat surface, so many experts suggest upping your incline. A 2013 study even found that walking on a 2 to 7 percent incline increased heart rate by almost 10 percent compared to running on a flat surface.

Another workout she loves? Cycling. ā€œI also Soul Cycle 3 times a week, which is my new obsession,ā€ she revealed. The Cleveland Clinic explains that biking, a low-impact aerobic exercise, is excellent for building muscle, improving strength and flexibility, and improving balance. It can also boost mental health and help other health conditions, including arthritis.

ā€œMy diet is pretty laid back. If I have something big coming up Iā€™ll obviously be more strict on myself but itā€™s also hard when you have my lifestyle and travel a lot. I try to eat as healthy as I can on a regular basis though. I always make sure to eat a lot of protein, mainly chicken and other lean meats. I also make sure to drink plenty of water!ā€ she told Women Fitness. Why should you focus your meals around protein? According to clinical trials, consuming more protein than the recommended dietary allowance not only reduces body weight (BW), but also enhances body composition by decreasing fat mass while preserving fat-free mass (FFM) in both low-calorie and standard-calorie diets.

Actress Sophie Turner is currently enjoying a vacation with friends in the beautiful Maldives. She recently shared a set of photos from the trip on Instagram. In them, Turner is seen snorkeling, bike riding, cooking, and spending time on the beach. She wore different swimsuits in the post, showing off her impressive figure, and got praise in the comments. Turner captioned the post, ā€œWho knew that all it takes to be happy is tea tasting, perfume making, breathwork, sound therapy, spotting dolphins, watsu, cooking classes, turtle snorkeling, massages and getting burnt on the beach with your besties in the Maldives at @joalibeing.ā€

She Swims

Turner likes to swim to keep herself in shape. While on her Maldives vacation, she and her friends did some snorkeling. Swimming is very beneficial. The Cleveland Clinic says, ā€œAccording to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), a 154-pound person who swims slow freestyle laps for 30 minutes burns 255 calories. But that amount varies depending on your weight, speed and stroke. Swim England reports that butterfly stroke burns the most calories, but because it can be so hard to learn and to maintain ā€” especially for beginners ā€” itā€™s not recommended as a weight loss go-to. Freestyle is the better option, and only after youā€™ve learned how to do it the right way.ā€

She Bikes

Turner is seen biking on the walkway by the beach in her Instagram post. Biking has a lot of health benefits. A Healthier Michigan states, ā€œBiking is a calorie burner. All that work your body is doing by pedaling and balancing not only works muscles in your arms and core, but it counts as serious cardio exercise and burns calories with every spin of the wheels. By biking at a moderate pace, about 12 or 13 miles per hour, a person weighing 155 pounds burns nearly 300 calories in 30 minutes, according to statistics shared by Harvard University. Like to pedal faster? A person of that same weight doing a fast pace of 14 or 15 miles per hour burns more than 370 calories in 30 minutes.ā€

She Cooks

Turner makes sure to eat a healthy diet. In her Instagram post, she is seen cooking a rice dish, and enjoying fresh vegetables. Cooking has a lot of health benefits. Harvard Health says it can help you eat better. ā€œWe already know that the more people cook at home, the healthier their diet, the fewer calories they consume, and the less likely they are to be obese or develop type 2 diabetes. A growing body of scientific evidence supports teaching patients how to cook meals at home as an effective medical intervention for improving diet quality, weight loss, and diabetes prevention.ā€

She Embraces Discomfort

Turner is open about her past struggles with an eating disorder. She revealed to British Vogue that she has learned to embrace her uncomfortable feelings to help her treat it. "I know when I'm in a bad headspace that the eating thing will always flare up. But now I regulate it by sitting in the discomfort and just getting used to that feeling of being full. It's all exposure therapy. I think life is exposure therapy."

Sheā€™s Comfortable With Her Body

Turner tells British Vogue that having her kids helped her be comfortable with her body. "I remember after I had my baby, my therapist asked me how I felt in my body. And of course I was like, 'Well, there's milk leaking from my breasts and I've been bleeding for a month.' Then she reminded me how amazing it is that our bodies can do this and how important it is to put all the nutrients in your body so that it can do that. I mean, it sounds so simple, but I never thought of my body in that way before."
