Hamilton has since gone on to be a successful blogger and YouTuber. She just shared a new video on Instagram opening up about her journey with surfing after the accident. She captioned the post, "One arm life… My life is adapting each day. Adaptation every day with everything that I face. I'm glad that I was and am brave enough to try; and try again. Easily surfing with one arm is the hardest thing I've learned to do so far. Some days are hard and some days my arm is tired. I do so much on the one side so I def need cross training on the other side as I've shared here often! But I wake up each day grateful for another day. 🙏🏽 And we all CAN do the same." She Doesn't Dwell On Insecurities

Hamilton has her own blog, where she talks about her life. In this post, she talked about overcoming insecurities. Hamilton says that she doesn't like to dwell on things that get her down. "I think I did a good job of not dwelling on them too much and pushing them away as best as I could. I never had a special tool to help me get through it all, but I really focused on my surfing and other things that were life-giving rather than my so-called imperfections or the way I looked."

She Has Strong Faith

Hamilton is open about how important her faith is to her. She says in her blog post that her faith helps her in moments of insecurity. "In the midst of all of this, I think being of faith and being a Christian helped ground me. I always knew that my sense of worth was way more than how I looked and that I was so much more than my body. It's not that I didn't have insecurities. They came up all the time during competitions and photoshoots, especially because I looked so different than everyone else I saw. However, I'm thankful that God protected me from letting my fears and insecurities control me."

She Has Support

Hamilton talked about her advice for overcoming insecurity in the same post. She says that having support is important to her. "Choose strong community. Surround yourself with friends who love you for your personality, skills, passions, and character rather than the way you look. Those friendships will be much more long-lasting and uplifting!"

She Educated Herself

In this blog post, Hamilton talked about her approach to wellness. She says that she works to educate herself on the topic. "I took the initiative as a teenager to start educating myself on how to better support my overall health. I've learned over the years that the choices I make will affect me both in the short and the long term. Now as a mom, I'm continually listening to my body, problem solving, and learning so that I can better support my energy, my sleep, and my moods.

She Eats A Balanced Diet

In the same post, Hamilton opened up about her approach to dieting. She says that she believes in balance. Hamilton also shared some tips for doing this. "Balance your plate. Make sure you are getting enough healthy protein (especially at breakfast!) and not relying solely on carbs to fuel your day…Consider an 80/20 approach to your daily diet. Question cultural norms and trends. There are a lot of fads and conflicting opinions out there – you need to find what best supports YOU and will be sustainable in the long term."
