'90s Icon Jennie Garth Shares Swimsuit Photo From Malibu Beach

Here’s why she says 50s are the new 30s.

Beverly Hills, 90210 star Jennie Garth is happiest when she's outside in the sunshine and fresh air—especially at the beach. Garth, 51, shared pictures of herself enjoying a day in sunny Malibu, posing on the sand in a very cute mismatched bikini. "Stripes and polka dots are fine right? Hope you're able to get out and enjoy a summer Sunday 💙JG," she captioned the Instagram post. "It completely goes together.  You look incredibly happy.  Enjoy – it all! ❤️" a fan commented. Garth is practically glowing with health and happiness—here's how she does it.

Fresh Air Exercises

Garth makes a point to nourish her body and get fresh air every day. "I start every day with some beautiful, bold berries, oatmeal and some antioxidants," she says. "I try to start my day off right every day. I've been working with a weight-lifting trainer three days a week, which I think is really important to keep our bodies strong. Stretching is a huge part of being healthy as you get older, so I stay active. I golf now, which keeps me out in nature. Being in nature is a huge part of wellness, mental wellness and mental well-being for me."

More Water, Please

Garth makes a point of drinking more water as she gets older, both for health and for beauty. "I was never a water person, but as I get older, I see my body becoming thirstier for all things liquid," she says. "People say if you pinch the skin on the back of your hand and pull it up, if it goes back down slowly it means you're dehydrated. I used to do that to my babysitter when I was a little girl and watch her skin go back so slowly and be like, 'Oh my God, what is that about?' because then I would do it to my young hand and it would snap right back. Now it doesn't go back the way it once did. That's why I'm like, 'More water, please!'"

50 Is the New 30

Garth is excited for what her 50s will bring. "It's hard to describe, because every time you hit a milestone birthday, it's another range of emotions," she says. "It used to be a lot more exciting. Now, it's like, OK, let me figure this out…but turning 50 isn't what it used to be. I honestly feel like I just turned 30; I'm so active and vibrant and on-the-go all the time and juggling so many things. I think I'm balancing everything so much better now, so I'm very excited for my 50s."

Meditative Golf

Garth started playing golf during the lockdowns and had made it a habit. "I'm a pandemic golfer, so I just started a couple of years ago," she says. "I'm learning more every time I go out, and every time I go, I get a little bit better. It's a very slow process, but my husband got me into it because he's really into golf. We joined the golf club by our house and I love going there by myself and having a couple of hours of solitude once a week where it's just me and the golf ball and nature. Golf is a mental exercise the whole time. You have to be in the right mental space for it, but if you are, it can be incredibly meditative."

A Little Help From Tech

Garth is open about taking advantage of technology to look her best. "I just did Morpheus8; I did a series of three of them," she says. "It's supposed to tighten, lift, refine, all the good things, over time. I'm excited to see how that will turn out! One staple I've always used is something I actually make in my kitchen and I have forever. It's a spray mist that I use and it has hyaluronic acid in it, essential oils, some aloe vera, and I use it morning and night. It's a hydrating mist I really believe in it. I think it really works!"
