Short But Intense Workouts Work
You don't have to work out for hours to get into shape. Dua prefers short but grueling workouts. "It's high-intensity interval training, but it's so quick, it's over before it's even started," she told Vogue about her HIIT workouts, which last about 15 minutes. Jumping jacks, mountain climbers, and burpees are a few of her go-to moves.
Get Exercise Over with First Thing
The early bird (to the gym) gets the workout work. Dua gets her workout in at 8:30 am. "This is normally the time I give myself to work out," she told Refinery29. "Whether it's on Zoom, doing a workout with my friend Ella in L.A. who leads a kickass workout class called Sculpt With Ella, or with my best friend Bunny who comes over to train me on days when I'm feeling super lazy and need someone to get me motivated, getting physical really starts my day off right."
Flat Abs Take Lots of Ab Work
Dua revealed to Urban List that she does a lot of ab work to keep her midsection toned. "I think different variations of crunches like bicycle crunches are good. Leg raises are also great unless my back hurts. Planks are good although almost certainly my least favourite!" she said.
Do Lots of Different Workouts
Dua maintains variety when it comes to exercise/ She revealed to Refinery29 that some of her favorite workouts include yoga, Pilates, or strength training. "Whatever it is, I try to change it up every day to keep things interesting," she added to Urban List. "I like that it's definitely a full body workout. Since starting boxing, I've probably been in the best shape ever. It's also a great stress reliever."
Don't Exercise Alone
Dua believes that working out with others keeps you accountable. "I would always be that person who made a new year's resolution, get a gym membership and then show up twice in the first week of January and then never go again," she told Urban List. "Now I love workout classes or working with a trainer. I feel like I'm pretty useless on my own, so I prefer being around other people working out with me."
