She Exercises How She Wants To

In a revealing Yahoo Lifestyle interview, Abbie opened up about her struggles with her body and an eating disorder. She says that she used to over-exercise, and didn’t do workouts that she enjoyed doing to lose weight. “I would run for 10kms every day with ankle weights and wrist weights so it was a punishment and rewards system. It wasn’t a ‘what do I feel like doing’,” she explains. “Whereas now, I wake up and I would be like ‘I feel like doing yoga right now’ so I’ll do yoga, or I’m feeling a bit anxious, so I feel like going for a run – rather than ‘I should run, to lose weight, to look better, to be more fit’.”

She’s Open About How She Feels Each Day

Abbie also tells Yahoo Lifestyle that she is all about body positivity, and one of her secrets is acknowledging when she doesn’t feel great. “Not being overly body positive, or body neutral. This is how I look, how I look today. If I feel yuck, that’s ok, if I feel great, that’s amazing,” she says. “It’s kind of like acknowledging it and then moving on from that thought if it’s a negative one, if it’s a good one we hold on to that thought.”

She Embraces Her Acne

Abbie is open about her struggles with her acne and taking care of her skin. She says to Body and Soul, “I still have some scarring and my acne is a constant battle. I try my best to look after my skin but now and again I have an intense breakout. Normally when I’m stressed, eating badly or sleep in my make-up after a night out – we’re all guilty now and again, right!” Abbie also says that she doesn’t let her acne bother her too much. “I’m a confident person so I try to feel good in my own skin, break out or no break out. The truth is everyone has good skin and bad skin days, it shouldn’t affect you as a person,” she says.

She Believes In Moderation

Abbie admits to Body and Soul that she tries to eat healthy to help keep her skin clear, but admits that it can be difficult. She says that she eats a balanced diet and eats bad foods in moderation. “I mean, I would love to say I always eat healthy but I don’t. There is definitely a correlation between breakouts and bad food so I just try to do everything in moderation,” she says.
