She Got Off Social Media

Lipa has been open about the struggles of being in the public eye, especially when it comes to dealing with social media haters. She was infamously trolled on social media after one of her performances, and after winning awards. Lipa said on the Gurls Talk podcast with Adwoa Aboah that she had to step away from social media, and that this benefitted both her mental health, and her career. "I don't think I could have done my second record if I hadn't taken a step back from social media," she said.

She Loves To Journal

Lipa opened up about some of her self-care and mental health practices on the Gurls Talk podcast. She says that journaling and writing her feelings down has really improved her mental health and wellbeing. "Get a piece of paper and write down what you're thinking, [it] doesn't even have to make sense, but I think it really helps."

Lipa is a very charitable celebrity, and has used her platform to promote several different causes. Lipa told the Gurls Talk podcast that the COVID-19 pandemic inspired her to start giving back a lot more. "A lot of us are fortunate enough to be able to self-isolate with family, friends, loved ones, but there are lots of people around the world, refugees who live in overcrowded areas, who don't have access to basic human needs such as soap and water."

Lipa opened up to Attitude Magazine about the intense social media trolling and backlash she received in the past, and how it affected her. She revealed, "IT was definitely something that gave me anxiety and made me upset and made me feel like I wasn't good enough and made me feel like, maybe I'm not meant to be here and on the stage. There were so many things, especially when you start out, like a video of me dancing and they're like, 'Ah well, she has no stage presence' – but they'd never been to one of my shows, they'd never seen me perform. They would take one small snippet and run with it and it would become a whole thing." Despite these feelings, Lipa let the haters motivate her to work harder, and prove them wrong, and by the time her second album was released, she was receiving praise for her ability as a performer. "It was a tough time, but I'm also so grateful for experience because I became so much stronger. I became so much more confident after that. Now I know what I'm good at; I know how to be good at what I do; [and] I know how much work it takes to be good at what I do."

She Loves Boxing

Lipa opened up about some of her favorite exercises in an interview with Beauty Crew. She revealed that one of her favorite ways to stay in shape was by boxing. "I like doing it for fitness [and] I like doing it just to kinda clear my mind. I really enjoy it. I like that it's definitely a full body workout. Since starting boxing I've probably been in the best shape ever. It's also a great stress reliever."
