She Doesn't Make Excuses

It's definitely easier to be lazy, we're all guilty of it, but Sarah admits that she just feels better when she works out and doesn't make excuses. "I do whatever I can whenever I can, but if I'm tired, it's okay to just be tired," she said. "You know what's really annoying, though? How much better I feel when I do wake up early enough to work out!"

She Doesn't Pay Attention To Scales

"You can't live your life by the scale," she said. "We don't even have one in our house. I've never believed in them, because your weight fluctuates. It's more about how my clothing fits than a number. Besides, if you deny yourself everything because you're so focused on the mirror or the scale, then when do you get to enjoy life?"

She Goes For Fresh, Local Ingredients

Sarah prioritizes fresh and local, organic ingredients that she often gets from Whole Foods. "People think it's so expensive to eat like that, but there are ways to do it so it's not as pricey," she said. She loves seafood and plenty of sushi. "I don't believe in trying to trick your body into things," she said. "I eat healthy, I exercise, I love food—but I don't like junk food. I mean, we're women. We go up by five pounds, we lose it, depending on the water, the moon, your cycle, whatever. So I just try to maintain."

She Enjoys Interval Training

Gellar says she loves Platefit, which is a HIIT workout using a Power Plate device. She says the half an hour workout will "challenge you, strengthen you, and renew you" because it moves in 3 different directions. "The vibration activates your muscle reflexes, and during our workout classes, muscles are contracting 30 to 40 times per second," says the website

She Does Her Own Stunts

Gellar actually enjoyed doing most of her own stunts and could often be seen choosing workouts like kickboxing, gymnastics, and martial arts, according to People. Now she loves doing TRX training, dance cardio, pilates, strength training, and yoga. With TRX, one study found "there were significant decreases in the following areas:

  • Waist circumference
  • Body-fat percentage
  • Resting systolic blood pressure
  • Resting diastolic blood pressure

Combined, these improvements indicate a positive effect on body composition and cardiovascular health."
