She Enjoys Being Healthy
Humes broke down her health and wellness secrets in an interview with Women's Fitness. She revealed that she enjoys being healthy. "The reality is, I need to stay fit and healthy for my kids, but I also feel genuinely better when I'm active. When I'm busy with work and I can't work out in the way that I normally would, I notice a big difference in how I mentally and physically feel. Sometimes, doing exercise can feel like a hassle, but I really miss it when I can't do it."
She Believes In Moderation
Humes tells Women's Fitness that she believes in moderation and balance when it comes to her diet. "It's definitely 'everything in moderation.' Life's too short not to try a bit of everything! Balance is the key to a happy life, but it can be a really hard thing to strive for because we can't control everything life throws at us."
She Eats Healthy During The Week
Humes tells Women's Fitness that she eats pretty healthy a majority of the time. She says that she does this during the week, and indulges on the weekends. "When it comes to food, I think it's easier than you think because you're in charge of what you put in your body. I try to make smart choices and have a healthy, balanced diet from Monday to Friday."
She Loves Pilates
Humes told GetTheGloss that she loves Pilates. She says that she loves to go to classes, and once convinced her husband to come along. "Pilates is my favourite way to exercise – I love the ability to zone out and work on my strength. I try to fit this in as much as I can, I even managed to drag Marvin with me once, although he's not been back since he realised how challenging it is!"
She Doesn't Keep Her Phone By Her Bed
Humes told GetTheGloss that she has begun new nighttime habits, which have helped her sleep better. She says that she doesn't keep her phone near her bed, so she is no longer tempted to use it. "The best advice I've received recently has been to leave my phone outside of my bedroom at night. Instead, I only keep a notepad and pen on my bedside table – which comes into action if I have a thought I want to remember. It's really helped me change my routine – not checking my phone first thing in the morning and before I go to bed has improved my sleep."
