She Doesn't Diet

Pataky might be a supermodel, but she doesn't believe in going on diets. She said in an interview on the Australian talk show, Sunrise, that she focuses on eating healthy, rather than going on quick diets. "I don't believe anything about diets, like quick diets that you do before summer. I feel like miracles don't exist. Mediterranean food every day, not just [for] periods of time."

Pataky revealed a lot of her wellness secrets in her book, Strong. She says that she isn't afraid to have cheat days or indulgences. "In general, I try to make my 'cheat day' a weekend day, but if I am feeling really low mid-week because of something that's happened, I will give in to what my body asks for, whatever craving it is. Normally that is all I need, but I sometimes have a period where I'm feeling low for a few days, and that's when I take the pressure off myself."

Pataky revealed some of her exercise secrets in an interview with Now To Love. She says that she is extremely consistent with her fitness. "I do that by exercising daily, eating healthy foods and keeping my mind active. I could not imagine my life without exercise. She Sets Specific Goals

Pataky tells Now To Love that she likes to set specific goals with her fitness. She says that this helps her know what she has to do to get her satisfied. "If your goal is too broad – 'I want to get in shape',  for example – it can be difficult to know where to start and you can easily get discouraged or side-tracked. What works for me is to break my goals down into smaller ones. If we want to climb a ladder we must begin by reaching the first rung, then the second one and so on until, little by little, we get to the top."

For Pataky, the number that appears on the scale doesn't matter. She tells Now To Love that she focuses on how she feels, rather than how much she weighs. "For me, a number on a bathroom scale is not all that useful. Instead, I want to know how my body performs: its stamina, strength and endurance."
