She Fuels Up in the Morning
In a video for Harper's Bazaar, Jen detailed what she eats in a day. "I love breakfast. It's my favorite meal of the day," she said. Her favorite breaky? Eggs. "I always like to switch up my eggs," she said. Some days she will eat plain eggs and others she "will go crazy," concocting creative scrambles with onion, tomato, spinach, mushroom, organic brown eggs (two whites and one full egg) with cheese and cooked with olive oil. She will also mash up some avocado on the side for healthy fats and added protein.
She's All About Moderation
Jen refuses to diet. "I'm all about moderation," she told Harper's Bazaar. "I eat really healthy. I don't drink alcohol. I love chocolate. I love cheese. I have two cheat meals a week. If I'm craving something I am going to eat it." Two of her go-to cheat meals? Chicken parm and penne alla vodka.
She Exercises
Obviously, fitness is a big part of Jen's life and she gets in her exercise sessions early in the morning. She works out 30-40 minutes after eating. "It's my favorite part of my day," she says in the video. Remember: "Exercise — particularly morning exercise — can be challenging if you're dehydrated, which can happen when you're not drinking enough water throughout the day on a routine basis. In fact, if you're dehydrated and not well fed from the previous day (or days) and you exercise before breakfast, you probably won't have enough energy for an enjoyable, effective workout," says Harvard Health.
She Relies on Meal Delivery Service
Jen orders packaged meals from Eat Clean Bro, a meal delivery service specializing in clean eating. The packaged meals help her eat healthy despite her busy lifestyle.
She Cooks Her Own Meals
Jen tries to cook most of her meals. However, since she lives in New York City, she does enjoy dining out on occasion. An average dinner she might cook would be an avocado and tomato salad with marinated salmon, which she bakes in the oven. "Growing up I didn't know much about health and nutrition," she says during the video. "I love eating healthy because when I eat healthy I feel good. I'm energized, I feel good. When I eat like [badly], I feel like [badly]."
