Soleil Sorge in Bathing Suit Enjoys "Sol y Mar"
Italian TV personality Soleil Sorge is the ultimate bicultural influencer, the child of an Italian father and American mother who spent her childhood moving between Los Angeles and Rome, where she ultimately settled. Maybe because of this, she's the ultimate sun worshipper (her name means "sun" in French), as in this Instagram pic of herself in a bathing suit on a boat with the caption, "Sol y mar 🌞 buon Ferragosto! Xoxo" (Sun and sea 🌞 happy mid-August! xoxo). Sorge gained fame as a villainous contestant in the Italian TV reality competition show Grande Fratello VIP 6 (Big Brother VIP 6). She also has a line of beachwear called State of Soleil. Read on to see how Soleil Sorge stays in shape and the photos that prove they work. She Does Yoga
Viewers of Grande Fratello saw Sorge practice yoga, about which she is passionate. "Yoga is the essence," she posted in Italian on Instagram. "It's a discipline through which practice the mind, body and spirit are stimulated. It is a lifestyle, a flow through which, just like in life each of us finds his own style, his course and above all his inner peace."
She Eats Healthy
Like all Italians, Sorge eats a Mediterranean diet, which emphasizes healthy fats, fish, drinking water daily, more fruit and vegetables and less dairy. A Mediterranean diet is effective in reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases and overall mortality, according to Harvard University's T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
She's Not Afraid of Pasta
Living in Italy, Sorge is not above indulging in pasta, as seen in this Instagram pic, captioned "pastafarian feels." Eating too much pasta can contribute to weight gain. But one research study found that moderate amounts of pasta in the context of a low-glycemic diet does not lead to weight gain and can even help lower weight and body mass index compared with high-glycemic diets.
She Has Dogs
Sorge has two dogs, Simbah and Lyla, whom she adores. Owning a dog makes a person more physically active, reduces feelings of isolation and loneliness, calms the nerves and lowers blood pressure and heart rate, according to Harvard University's T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
She Purges Negative Thoughts
Sorge keeps her mind positive and gets rid of intrusive negative thoughts. Positive thinking and optimism can increase life span; lower stress, depression, distress and pain; create resistance to illness; improve cardio vascular health and reduce the risk of death from a variety of ailments, according to the Mayo Clinic.
